Frank Ocean Covers ‘GQ’, Explains Why He Made His IG Public [Photos]

He explains why he is opening up in a new magazine feature. As spotted on Complex the New Orleans Native covers the February edition of  GQ . As part of the yearly music issue he provides some context behind some of his most recent moves specifically making his Instagram account public back in November . Being that the “Novacane” crooner is uber private this was a pretty big deal. “I feel like there was dissonance between how I was seen by the audience and where I was actually, so that contributed to the decision to make my Instagram public, for sure,” he explained. “But there’s also the idea of dialogue and discourse and conversation—like theater where the audience can interrupt you versus the television.” When asked to provide examples of the perceived disconnect he pointed to his overall public perception that in his mind couldn’t be farther from reality. “That dissonance—the word being a big container for what I was feeling…the way I was seen was not even close to correct. It’s still not correct, either.” He also details how moving to New York City is going. “I like it a lot because I spend more time at the house. I think it comes from living in hotels, but when I’m in L.A., I find myself in my car a lot.… Which is stress. In New York, it’s the first time in a minute that I’ve had my own space that’s not a hotel and not some rented home, where everything around me is mine, and that’s been really cozy and comfortable this past year.” You can read the rest of the interview where he shares some insight on his musical direction for 2019, his skincare routine and more here . Tamery Mowry & Adam Housley Bury Late Niece Alaina Tamera Mowry and husband Adam Housley  are in our thoughts as they buried their late niece on Thursday, November 15. 18-year-old Alaina Housley was a victim in the Thousand Oaks shooting that left 12 dead at the Borderline Bar & Grill after a Marine Corps veteran opened fire . Soon after, Alaina’s family confirmed her untimely death, saying in a statement : “Our hearts are broken. We just learned that our niece Alaina was one of the victims of last night’s shooting at Borderline bar in Thousand Oaks. We thank everyone for your prayers and ask for privacy at this time.” Now, Tamera and Adam have laid their beautiful niece to rest. I’m Upset: Frank Ocean Wants His Vocals Removed From Travis Scott’s Song “Carousel” Immeechiately

Image via Mark Horton/Getty Images/ars Niki/Corbis via Getty Images Frank Ocean Wants Off Of Travis Scott’s “Carousel” Frank Ocean is none-too-happy with previous number #1 album in the country holder Travis Scott. According to TMZ , Frank wants his vocals removed from the Astroworld cut “Carousel” post f**king haste. It is said that Mr. Nostalgia Ultra is upset because his verse or vocals were somehow altered from what he originally recorded. There’s quite a bit of autotune used on his voice and pitch changes happen throughout his part. In any event, he ain’t feelin’ it. Frank is so angry over it he reportedly had his lawyers send Travis a threatening cease & desist order to have him taken off the track, but no dice. Travis is said to have no plans on removing Francis from “Carousel”. He likes it just the way it is and that’s that on that.

Source: Christopher Polk / Getty The first-week sales projections for  Travis Scott ‘s freshly released album  Astroworld  have officially arrived, and it looks like La Flame is about to have an absolutely insane opening. According to reports from  Hits Daily Double , the songs on the Houston rapper’s third studio album have been streamed over 100 million times. In terms of actual sales, the album is expected to move somewhere between 450-500,000 equivalent album units in its first week. That is an undeniably massive opening, especially when compared to the numbers Travis has pulled in the past. If these sales projections come to fruition, Scott will have more than quadrupled the first-week sales total of his last project,  Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight– which moved 89,000 units in its opening week. The album is loaded with features from big stars including Drake , Frank Ocean , and  Stevie Wonder. This album and it’s release has been teased for more than 2 years at this point, which could be why it’s doing such huge numbers. In any case, it seems like Astroworld ‘s long-awaited release has not disappointed, at least as far as number go. We’ll find out for sure once the final numbers come in. Congrats to La Flame on the huge release.
