‘Harry Potter’ Star Warwick Davis Shares Most Memorable Moments

‘I got to do some really interesting and important things,’ Davis says of two-part ‘Deathly Hallows.’ By Kara Warner Warwick Davis Photo: MTV News Ask any of the “Harry Potter” castmembers to name their favorite moment over the course of filming eight movies, and they’ll be hard-pressed to select just one. No matter what level of involvement, from stars to extras, production designers to makeup artists, those close to the wizard franchise feel lucky just to have been a part of the “Potter” magic. And perhaps no one more than actor Warwick Davis , who has not only appeared in all eight of the films, but played two memorable characters: Professor Filius Flitwick and Gringotts’ formidable goblin, Griphook. When MTV News caught up with the actor at the opening of Universal’s Wizarding World of Harry Potter theme park last month, we asked him to narrow down his character’s most memorable moments. “I think all of my favorite moments are in the last two films,” Davis said. “I got to do some really interesting and important things, which is nice. Previously in the films, it’s always been great to be there, but normally I’ve been the kind of comic relief. I’ve had silly, fun things to do, which have been very memorable,” he explained. “It’s wonderful. People always remember those moments, but I felt having Griphook and Flitwick [in the final two films] — I have much more bearing and importance on the plot as well.” Davis added that the absolute best moment for him was both surreal and emotional. “People who’ve read the books will know this ( spoiler alert ), but the moment where Voldemort exclaims that Harry Potter is dead … to have read that and to actually be there as it’s happening, that was quite emotional and quite surreal. It sends a shiver down your spine because you’re standing there and witnessing this event. It’s almost like reading the newspaper going back in time, witnessing a world-changing event.” What’s your favorite Flitwick or Griphook moment? And what scene are you most eager to see played out in the final “Harry Potter” films? Tell us in the comments! Katy Perry Says She’s Tamed ‘Professional Prostitute’ Russell Brand

‘He’s an extremist, which can be both good and bad,’ singer says of her fiance in the August issue of Esquire U.K. By Jocelyn Vena Katy Perry and Russell Brand Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/ WireImage While Katy Perry appears topless on the cover of the U.K. edition of Esquire, it’s what she says on the inside that may have everyone talking. In the magazine’s August issue, Perry opens up about her relationship with bad-boy comedian Russell Brand , noting that she tamed him. “He used to basically be a professional prostitute — now he’s not. So he’s an extremist, which can be both good and bad,” she says, according to Huffingtonpost.com . “I always needed someone stronger than me. And I am, like, a f—ing strong elephant of a women. I say that, hopefully, in the humblest way I can.” And it may have been her incredibly strong personality that made the pair fall almost instantly in love with one another. “I was 25, 30 feet away from him. And I threw the bottle straight at him: hit him smack dab on the head. Can you imagine the horrible feeling he had, when he was used to getting everything he wanted? I was like, ‘You’ve met your match, motherf—er.’ A week later we went on vacation in Thailand,” she explained, adding, “I’m like, ‘Oh my God, I am you. You are me.’ Two divas in one house. It’s like splitting the atom. It shouldn’t happen.” Perry also discussed working with Snoop Dogg on her hit single “California Gurls,” saying, “I was thinking to myself how perfect it would be to have a California anthem. I can’t let the Beach Boys down. I can’t let Tupac down. I had the idea to put Snoop on — I thought he would be the cherry on top, and it would make me look cooler.” And working with Snoop allowed Perry the chance to partake in one of the rapper’s alleged favorite pastimes. “I was scared for my life to get off the hookah. Everyone else is smoking everything else. I was saying to myself, ‘If that sh– still gets Snoop high, if I breathe it in I will die. I will be on a permanent balloon.’ I was like, ‘Hold on to the hookah.’ ” What do you think of Perry’s comments about fianc

Oil Spill and the SE Florida Reef System; What’s at stake?

On April 25, 2010, just five days after the BP Deep Horizon oil rig exploded, Reef Check, The Perry Institute for Marine Science and Ocean Rehab Initiative Inc. responded to protect threatened critical wetland ecosystems. Collaboratively, these institutions of marine research and conservation developed the Pre-Oil Volunteer Survey, whose methodology is now widely used across the Gulf of Mexico and Greater Caribbean by groups including USGS, USCG, NOAA, EPA, DEP, The Audubon Society, The Nature Conservancy, Surfrider Foundation and others. Scientists agreed that the survey methodology must be easy to teach and understand, be at little or no cost to perform, and provide real and significant results for science. In fact, you may even own most of the equipment needed for the survey, like a camera, GPS, tape measure, magic marker and plastic cards. To date, hundreds of volunteers have surveyed critical habitats for oil-threatened species in their native wetlands (estuaries, sea grasses, mangroves, lagoons, rivers, inlets, reefs and beaches) along South Florida, from the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary to Indian River County. Just this week, teams surveyed reefs in Palm Beach and Martin County, and were pleased to discover a healthy reef system. Residents up and down the coast have volunteered their time to aid during the largest environmental catastrophe in U.S. history. Current and future volunteers are not only divers, but come from all backgrounds: children, elderly, activists, government employees, retired and working citizens. You don’t bring sand to the beach: BP’s newest cover-up (video)

BP’s new cover up is literally covering up the beaches. I am getting reports from Grand Isle, Louisiana, from C.S. Muncy, a freelance photojournalist for the New York Times, that BP is now trucking in sand to cover up the Gulf beaches instead of cleaning up the oil that spreading on our shores. When asked if it was true that BP has been covering some of the oil on the beach with sand: “Yeah. Yeah, this is interesting…We went down onto the beaches, and we started inspecting them. There were tar balls, tar residue, and there was some oil on the beach. Apparently, the day before there was a lot of tar balls, and BP was working in the area pretty heavily, and we started noticing there was a different consistency in the sand. Closer to shore, there was this grainy, very rough shell-filled sand, and then you could see almost like a border where it just spilled over onto the beach sand, which is a very fine-grained sand. And it looked as if it was dumped. I mean, you could dig a few inches down, and you could see that it was a different type of sand beneath that, you know, without all the shell and grit, and what not. It looked very much like that. Our first assumption was, yeah, that they were dumping sand to cover up the tar balls.” Read the rest on the original post. added by: CLGreen

Kelly Brook’s Incredible Bikini Pictures

If you thought yesterday’s Kelly Brook bikini pictures were pretty hot, you’re going to love these ones even more. Here she is hanging out on the beach again, posing nicely for me with her back arched and her boobs pressed together. Absolutely awesome. I especially like the one of her picking her bikini bottoms out of her cute ass. I could watch that all day…. In slow motion of course.
