To say that Kailyn Lowry has had a complicated relationship with Chris Lopez would be a pretty big understatement. Really, to call their relationship a disastrous, burning hot mess would even be an understatement. Is there even a messier relationship on either of the Teen Mom shows? Well, yes, absolutely there is, but this is still really, really bad, that’s what we’re trying to get across here. Things started off well enough between Kailyn and Chris. They were classmates in college, and then they were friends, and then they were … The timeline is a little confusing because they both go back and forth on their stories depending on how petty they want to be , but whether they were ever in a real relationship or not, they did have sex. And that resulted in the supremely adorable little baby Lux. During Kailyn’s pregnancy, Chris wasn’t around all that much, and she said that was because he was with another woman. But when it was time for their son to be born, he was there, and we even saw him escort Kailyn and Lux home from the hospital. A short while after that though, things were terrible again. There have been several rumors about him going for custody of Lux , and she’s also accused him of being a deadbeat dad . Still, even though they’ve both been passive aggressive as hell through mountains and mountains of vague tweets and the like, neither one of them has ever taken the time to share the whole story, But it looks like that’s about to change. Yesterday, Kailyn took to Instagram to announce that she’s releasing a new book titled A Letter of Love. “I’m so so so excited for this one,” she wrote. “Any & all moms will be able to relate to this. From the hardest of times to the happiest of days, it’s in here. Single moms, working moms, married, everyone.” She’s obviously very excited about the release, but that’s sort of a broad summary, right? Don’t worry — she also did an interview with Radar Online, and she went into much more detail about what the book will contain. And if you haven’t pre-ordered it yet, you probably will after hearing all this. “The book was an apology letter to Lux for basically the mess he was born into and how bad I feel,” she explains in the interview. “But now it’s to all three of them.” “I feel bad,” she goes on, “and I’m nervous about how a lot of my decisions will impact them or affect them.” “So I’m apologizing to all of them and I want them to know how much I love them and I’m working now to pick up the pieces.” That’s actually kind of heartbreaking. When Kailyn first announced her pregnancy, she insisted that she’d made the choice to get pregnant , that it wasn’t an accident at all. And while we’re sure that she doesn’t regret getting pregnant at all — because then she wouldn’t have Lux — it obviously sounds like she’s regretting some of the choices she made during that time. Watching the last season of Teen Mom 2, it’s clear that things were a little chaotic throughout her pregnancy, but what’s done is done, and it’s lovely that she’s doing what she needs to do to make the situation as positive as possible for her children. Reg E. Cathey, a veteran actor likely best known to television fans for roles in House of Cards and The Wire, died this week from lung cancer. He was 59 years old. According to TMZ sources, Cathey was surrounded by friends, family members and loved ones at the time of his passing, which took place at his home in New York. It’s unclear at the moment for how long Cathey had been battling his illness. The Wire creator David Simon confirmed Cathey’s death on Twitter, leaving the following statement along with a photo of the veteran star: Reg Cathey, 1958-2018. Not only a fine, masterful actor — but simply one of the most delightful human beings with whom I ever shared some long days on set. On wit alone, he could double any man over and leave him thinking. Reg, your memory is a great blessing. Cathey was nominated for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series in 2014, 2015 and 2016, each time for his portrayal Freddy Hayes on HBO’s House of Cards. The character was the owner of a rib restaurant that provided the Kevin Spacey’s Frank Underwood a sanctuary and secret hideout. He won this Emmy Award in 2015. On Season 4 of The Wire – generally considered to be the legendary drama’s best – he played Norman Wilson, a reporter-turned-political operative who consulted with Tommy Carcetti as the latter quickly rose to prominence up in Maryland politics. Cathey also played a part on The Corner, Simon’s predecessor to The Wire on HBO. A native of Alabama, Cathey’s big screen resume included roles in Fantastic Four and Se7en. In response to this sad news, House of Cards creator Beau Willimon said the following on Friday evening: Reg Cathey was one of a kind. Brimming with life force, generosity, humor, gravitas and a fountain of talent. Loved by everyone lucky enough know him and work with him. He will be greatly missed. Rest In Peace, Reg. We think it’s fair to say that Celebrity Big Brother has brought the drama throughout its first week on the air. We’ve had Brandi Glanville causing trouble, Omarosa wailing to Ross Matthews about how she would never vote for Donald Trump again and a big twist that allowed the head of household to be overthrown. The first big event of the episode was the Power of Veto competition, and if you’ve been keeping up with our Big Brother spoilers , you will already know how that played out. Keshia, James, and Chuck were players by default. Mark and Ari were picked by random draw, and Keshia chose Shannon to help her try and keep the nominations the same. Omarosa was tasked with hosting the competition that found the houseguests spelling the biggest word. Shannon emerged as the winner, successfully spelling out “responsibilities.” That means Shannon won the first two competitions of the season and needs to dial it back a little if she has any hope of making it much further. Proving to be a competition beast in week one can be detrimental to your place in the game. It’s a good thing Shannon is in that all-female alliance because they should all keep each other safe. James and Ari came in the last place in the competition, so they had to wear baby costumes for 48 hours. They came to play Big Baby, it seems. The nominations were kept the same, meaning James or Chuck would be going home. This meant James was the likely one to go, but there were some last-minute discussions that made everyone question the target. He was furious, but it was a last-minute blindside that will likely come back to haunt some of the players. Omarosa voting to evict James seemed like a strategic move to cause some unrest in the all-female alliance. It seems a bit early to be doing that, but we all knew she would be causing as much trouble as possible. The power is back up for grabs, and we cannot wait to see who has been crowned the next HOH. Lydia McLaughlin has an announcement to make. And it’s an announcement you may have heard her make before. The Real Housewives of Orange County cast member took to her official blog on Friday and confirmed that she will no longer be a Real Housewives of Orange County cast member “RHOC has given me a great platform and I’m grateful for that. However, I feel like I can only handle this show one season at a time,” McLaughlin wrote online, adding: “I need a break! There is a lot of good that comes from the show, but also a lot of negativity. “After a family vote, it was unanimous that I should take a break. Sometimes the people who love us the most see things even we don’t see. “I trust my path and I’m excited for what the future holds.” Indeed, McLaughlin initially joined this Bravo franchise in season 8. She departed the cable network hit just before season 9, yet returned last year as a full-time cast member for season 12. Earlier this year, it was also reported that Meghan King Edmonds would not return to Orange County for next season. She swears this was her decision. And McLaughlin insists the same. “Bravo and Evolution have been amazing to me and I have made great friendships,” she continued on her blog, expounding: “I treasure all my fans and appreciate all the love and support. “I’ve been honored to be a source of entertainment and inspiration to all of you and I hope to continue spreading light and love. “Being a full time mom to THREE little boys, publisher of NOBLEMAN Magazine, blogger, jewelry designer, author, and wife, I have a lot going on! “I will continue to share my life and faith and use this platform to be a lightworker.” In other words: we haven’t heard the last from Lydia McLaughlin. We’ve just seen the last of her on Bravo. McLaughlin and her husband, Doug, have three kids: Stirling, 8. Maverick, 6. Roman, 2. These children, Doug and even McLaughlin’s mother have been featured on The Real Housewives of Orange County at various points.
