Young Buck Facing 18 Months In Prison

Onetime G-Unit rapper reached a plea deal with Nashville prosecutors on gun charges dating back to 2010. By Rob Markman Young Buck Photo: Arnold Turner/ WireImage Young Buck started his rap career with a ton of promise, but his legal problems thwarted that potential and his woes continue to mount. According to reports, the former G-Unit MC is looking at an 18-month prison stint for gun possession. The Tennessee rap star has agreed to a plea deal with Nashville prosecutors that will land him behind bars for a year and half, TMZ reported on Tuesday (May 22). A judge signed off on the plea, but Buck won’t be sentenced formally until July 13. “I got to go to the penitentiary in two months,” Buck said in a personal video posted online over the weekend. “F— with me for real, hold me down — and when I get out of the penitentiary, all you rap n—as better get the f— out the way. I ain’t even gonna say no names, but it’s a good thing I’m about to go to the penitentiary.” After an IRS raid on Buck’s Nashville home in 2010, authorities found a .40 caliber Glock 22 as well as ammunition. The raid followed reports that the rapper had an outstanding $300,000 tax debt, and because he’s a convicted felon, Buck is prohibited from possessing any firearms. Back in 2005, he pleaded no contest to assault with a chance to produce bodily injury after he stabbed a man while trying to defend Dr. Dre at the 2004 Vibe Awards . Buck rose to fame as a member of 50 Cent’s G-Unit crew. In 2004, his debut, Straight Outta Cashville, went platinum; he followed that up with 2007’s sophomore effort, Buck the World. But by ’08, Young Buck had gotten himself kicked out of the group after tension between him and label boss 50. The MC has been releasing mixtape material on and off ever since, including The Rehab, an independent street album. Related Artists Young Buck

Kelly Clarkson Brings ‘American Idol’ Expertise To ‘Duets’

ABC’s new reality singing show puts seasoned superstars onstage with amateur singers. By Christina Garibaldi Kelly Clarkson Photo: MTV News At first glance, “Duets” may just seem like another reality singing competition, but the new ABC show couldn’t be more different. Because this time, the superstars are not behind a judging panel, but onstage with the contestants. The show, which premieres Thursday (May 24), pits pop star Kelly Clarkson , Sugarland singer Jennifer Nettles and R&B crooners Robin Thicke and John Legend against one another as they pair up with two amateur singers, whom they found before the show. Each week the stars will battle it out, duet style, in front of a live audience to ultimately win the grand prize for the amateur singer: a recording contract with Hollywood Records. “I basically just found my two people on my own,” Kelly Clarkson told MTV News recently at an event announcing ABC’s fall lineup. “[Robin] found them a completely different way and John found his a completely different way, it’s kind of really random, but it’s cool though.” Going into the competition, Clarkson figured she had a slight advantage given her experience on “American Idol,” which she won during the first season. But as soon as cameras started rolling for “Duets,” she realized she had her work cut out for her. “It’s a lot of fun, but it’s a lot of work,” Clarkson admitted. “I totally thought I had a one-up from ‘Idol’ … It is way harder.” “I’m just going to try and do kind of what I did on ‘Idol’ and hopefully that will help my people,” Clarkson said. “It’s not really as much up to us, the stars on the show, it’s more for the kids that really just need to make sure they are bringing their A-game every week.” Are you excited for “Duets”? Emily Maynard on The Bachelorette: Protecting Ricki is Priority #1

Emily Maynard wouldn’t reveal if she gets engaged on The Bachelorette this season, though she says she “was happy before the show, but really happy now.” She also says the road to the final rose was secondary to protecting her little girl . On a conference call with reporters, she described how that influenced things: “If I was a single 26-year-old without a daughter, I’d be doing the same things the other Bachelorettes did. But Ricki is always at the forefront of my mind.” “I wouldn’t get in a hot tub on a first date in my everyday life so I sure as hell am not going to do it on [TV]. I like to keep Ricki sheltered to a point.” “She’s not at an age where she can even begin to understand the reason for the cameras. I told her it was for a very elaborate home video that she could watch way down the road. … Ricki’s life was not really affected at all.” “She was very protected throughout the entire process. She didn’t see the guys. I got to spend a lot of time with her, take her to school and do all my mom stuff.” As for how Emily Maynard finally came around to doing the show? “I had a million reservations and I said no to anybody who would listen. But time went on, we started talking again, and they were so accommodating that it was [too] great an opportunity to pass up,” the 26-year-old explained. “I had a great group of guys. I had the time of my life and learned so much about myself. It was the best experience getting to travel and to give Ricki the opportunity to see things she wouldn’t have otherwise.” The guys came in having an image of me in their head but as they got to know me better, they all said, [I was] nothing like they thought. It was a good thing.” “I’m feisty and sassy. It takes a little bit for me to really feel comfortable but I’ve never been called ‘boring’ in my normal everyday life.” As for which guys make it to the end? The Bachelorette spoilers we’ve compiled so far give you a fairly good idea of who the leading candidates are …

I went to Radio Disney and I found out Justin would be there on…

I went to Radio Disney and I found out Justin would be there on Monday to promote Boyfriend! I was stoked to get a chance to meet him especially since Radio Disney is in Burbank, CA by my mom’s work.  Fast forward to Monday, I went to my home school session but this time it was particularly hard to focus taking an english test. My phone kept buzzing with Justin’s tweets. Right after it ended, we drove to Burbank. My mom went into a shop so I decided to call Radio Disney offices and found out he was already there ! I begged my mom and she rushed as fast as she could to get there. We got to the studio and I saw girls so I figured he hadn’t left yet! I was becoming anxious of meeting Justin because this time to the line up of things I’ve done for him, I wrote a song and posted it on YouTube and I had so much to tell him. About 1 hour after waiting, he came out of the station and there he was talking to Shelby, I was so nervous but I had to try. I lightly tapped him and poked him o n the shoulder and gave him the Bieber dictionary I made him. He did this cute hug thing to it, then I asked him for a picture but since my mom was taking it, it didn’t come out. So he took a picture with another girl and I had to ask him for another one. While we were taking our picture, I told him about how I’d been waiting to give him the dictionary face to face since 2010 and he was like, “Really?” and I was like, “Yeah and you don’t even follow me on Twitter,” and he was like, “What’s your twitter” and was getting ready to pull his phone out and follow me! I was like it’s in there and I pointed to the dictionary. Then I put my hand out and I was like, “Promise me you’ll follow me on Twitter?” And he took my hand and looked me in the eyes and was like “I promise” and I was like and, “You’ll read my letter?” And he said, “..and I’ll read your letter!” I can honestly say it was all worth it, all the times HATERS told me I’d never meet Justin again, or being a belieber is just a waste of time. They were all wrong. Justin if your reading this, thank you, for giving me the strength to believe in my dreams again, and I truly hope someday well sing together. You’re my inspiration, my role model, and a big influence on my life! By the way you never followed me lol.  To all the Beliebers reading this NEVER SAY NEVER! -@ BieberinLa95 Song I wrote for Justin The rest is here: I went to Radio Disney and I found out Justin would be there on…

I got me and my little sister to meet JUSTIN BIEBER on the 1st…

I got me and my little sister to meet JUSTIN BIEBER on the 1st March 2011. This day me and my little sister will never forget.  Firstly, my little sister wanted to go and see Justin at the Metro Radio Arena when he was doing his UK tour. She then seen that it was sold out so she was crying etc, but what she didn’t know was that I had already bought some tickets which we gave to her for Christmas. Seriously, you guys should of seen her face, she was so happy and speechless, at first she thought we were joking.  That was my first task, then she keep nagging me if I  could try get her to meet him, so I was doing lots of research and I emailed all of Justin’s crew, Kenny & everyone else which didn’t seem to be going well as I never heard one reply. So the performance was coming closer and closer, then it got to 1 week before the show and I  seen on his fan site that there was a competition to meet Justin himself as long as you had tickets to the show. I thought that this was my last option so I entered the competition. I had to promote Bieberfever, which I did by making flyers and putting them around and every option that I could think of. I made a video as well and entered the competition.  Then the morning before the competition at about 5am I got a email from them saying that we had won the competition and we were going to meet JUSTIN BIEBER tomorrow at 5pm for photos & I was thinking to myself, OMG I won.  She is going to be so happy. I phoned my little sister as she was at my gran’s house and I spoke to her and told her that she was going to be meeting Justin and she was just speechless and so happy that she was going to meet her IDOL. O n the day of the show, we went and waited outside with all the other people who were going to meet him and then we all got took backstage. First Kenny came out and spoke to all us and I gave him a gift for Justin which my little sister made. It was a little book with a purple cover with his name printed on, then inside she and I both wrote him a letter. After handing that to Kenny, it was our time to meet Justin. We went up to him and he was like, “Hey, you alright?” and my sister totally blanked him (I think it was because she was in shock). Then we got the picture and the person taking the picture was like, “Aww look yous are in height order” Then Justin had his little giggle, then we said goodbye and everything, then it was time to go.  For me to say this I’m a male, also the same age as Justin. He was so welcoming and really nice to us. To me, he is just a normal teenager living a dream and would be a great friend to anyone. I have one more task to complete which is to be able to play piano for Justin even for one show. SO JUSTIN IF YOU ARE READING THIS CHECK ME OUT ON YOUTUBE .  I  hope everyone has there chance to meet Justin as he is just amazing person and really nice . -@tyronspence Here is the original post: I got me and my little sister to meet JUSTIN BIEBER on the 1st…

While we were waiting for Michelle’s friend, we saw a guy…

While we were waiting for Michelle’s friend, we saw a guy by with the flowers for the One Less Lonely Girl. We called the guy and ask him to leave the flowers with us for a while. We took pictures with the flowers and give back to him.  We got our meet & greet wristbands and I couldn’t help but cry.  We looked back and guess who was there? Justin’s grandparents! We needed to talk to them, take pictures and everything. But we did not want to bother them. They understood what we wanted and called us to take pictures, they were very polite!  Then we went to the meet & greet. It was a lot of excitement, we could not stop talking about Justin, we could not wait to get our turn! I was the first to walk in and my friends were right behind. I got stuck looking at the beauty of Justin. I could not walk, talk, do anything. I could not believe that the boy that I love in front of me! The moment I saw him my body froze.  He was very cute, laughing and talking with his team until he looked at me and he was waiting for me. OMG, I can tell you he is PERFECT. My friends were on my side, also without reaction. Until Kenny said, ”Come on girls” and I was like OMG Kenny is talking to me, Kenny touched me, I freaked out.  I came very close to Justin and the moment, I gave him a hug and my friends did the same. That was my best feeling of my entire life! I hugged Justin could not believe it. He smiled at us and at the time of the photo, he ran his hand on all of us. I looked into his eyes and said, ”Thank you for everything”. He smiled, looked at us and said, ”I have to thank you” He was very sweet and gentle and his smile is the prettiest thing in the world. I was shaking and could not believe what had just happened. I never cried so much in my life, we could not do anything but cry until I heard my friend screaming, ”Scoooooter” and I looked forward and Scooter Braun was there. He was going to Justin’s dressing room. He turned to us and said ”Hi girls” and we went crazy.  After this, we watched Justin’s concert, we danced, cried and had the best day of our lifes! I just wanted to remind you to never stop believing because dreams do come true! I was very sad because I will not meet Justin but look what happened?  -@isabeltenorio1 See more here: While we were waiting for Michelle’s friend, we saw a guy…

Before the show, I lost my friends, so I decided to take a walk….

Before the show, I lost my friends, so I decided to take a walk. It was the second show in Brazil and the second show that I went to.  I didn’t know what to do, it was then that I saw a group of people near one of the entrances of the production. Then I got closer to see who it was, and when then I realized, it was Scooter Braun!  I asked a girl who was there, ”Is the Scooter?” and she said, “Yes, but shut up!” I couldn’t believe what I was seeing! Scooter Braun was in front of me! In front of my eyes!  ”Shut up”? Not! So I said, ”Scooter, come here please!!” He took a while because he was talking to a girl who spoke English better than me but he came, then the first thing that I said was, ”Hug me!” and he looked at me like ‘wtf?’ hahaha. But even then he hugged me. I asked him if he could help me to meet Justin, but he said he couldn’t, it was too late. I cried, then I asked him if he could hug me, so he did. I did not have a camera, but I asked him if he would take a picture with me. He accepted, so I asked to the first person that I saw if she could take the picture, and she accepted. One of my dreams came true! I met Scooter Braun! And he’s so cute! I miss him, but I have sure that we will meet again! See you, Scooter!  See the article here: Before the show, I lost my friends, so I decided to take a walk….

Steve Carell’s Emmy Expectations Were ‘Fairly Low’

‘Office’ star wasn’t expecting to take home the Emmy for his final season as Michael Scott — and he didn’t. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Steve Carell at the 2011 Emmy Awards Photo: MTV News Steve Carell will no longer be playing “The Office” boss Michael Scott, and on Sunday night (September 18), it seemed that he wouldn’t be taking home an Emmy for the role either. The six-time nominee for the role lost to “Big Bang Theory” actor Jim Parsons, but he didn’t seem to think he had a shot at it before the show even started. On the red carpet, MTV News caught up with the comedic actor, and he seemed doubtful he’d finally take home an Emmy for his portrayal of the bumbling Michael Scott. “It would be a culmination of all my hopes and dreams,” he laughed. “It would be great, but I’m putting my expectations on the fairly low side and just trying to enjoy it and see my friends. I haven’t seen my friends from ‘The Office’ in a while, so that’s going to be fun.” Sure, Michael Scott may have moved away to be with his lady love Holly, but would he be willing to stop by for a cameo this season, or ever? “I don’t think Michael Scott should come back at all,” he said. “I just think it’s better if he just moves along. I think the show should become whatever it’s going to become without people traipsing back in.” Next up, Carell is working with Spike Jonze on the movie “Frank or Francis,” but he stayed pretty tight-lipped. “It is based in the world of Hollywood,” Carell said cryptically, before admitting, “It’s crazy great.” Would you like to see Steve Carell make a return trip to “The Office”? ‘X Factor’ Auditions Teased In New Promo

‘It’s more than just a voice. It’s something else,’ Simon Cowell says in the 8-minute promo. By James Dinh Contestant Rachel Crow appears on X-Factor Photo: Fox Promotion for the U.S. version of “X Factor” kicked into high gear on Sunday night when Fox aired a unusually lengthy eight-minute preview of their forthcoming talent competition. The preview gave viewers an early introduction to the judging panel’s insight and some potential audition favorites before the show’s splashing debut on September 21. After a montage introducing all of the panelists — Simon Cowell, Paula Abdul, L.A. Reid and Nicole Scherzinger — the TV preview offered viewers a taste of the series’ upcoming auditions. First up was the enthusiastic 13-year-old Rachel Crow, whose bubbly personality shined as bright as her voice. Upon her arrival onstage, the curly-haired student showed no signs of cold feet for what she described as “the most important thing I’ve ever done in my life.” “My family has, like, no money,” the fresh-faced auditioner told Cowell. “And let me tell you, we live in a two-bedroom house, OK? And I have six people in my family, which is a lot of people. And I’m a girl. I need my own bathroom.” After her brief chitchat with the panel, Crow tapped her foot, swayed her hands and delivered a belting rendition of Duffy’s “Mercy.” As you may have guessed, Abdul exuded just as much energy as the big-voiced Crow when she smiled and bobbed her head to the chanting tune. And it wasn’t just Abdul who enjoyed the audition, but also fellow judge L.A. Reid. “You have everything that every artist I’ve ever signed has: feisty, sassy, soulful. You got it all, baby. I love you,” he told her. Cameras soon panned to the backstage reactions from the young girl’s family, who joined together for a group hug. Crow looked in almost disbelief as she questioned her mom about the audition. “Mom, did you see that?” she asked. “X Factor” was also quick to showcase the show’s much-promoted no-age-limit rule when they moved on to the next contestant, 42-year-old single mother Stacy. The youthful-looking singer tearfully recalled the story of meeting someone who disregarded her big dreams, leaving her faith in shambles. “I don’t want to die with this music in me, Simon,” she candidly told the judge onstage, with the microphone clenched with both hands. Shots of the studio audience, who waited to hear whether or not Stacy could deliver, flashed when she began her cover of Aretha Franklin’s “(You Make Me Feel Like a) Natural Woman.” Just a few lines into the tune, Stacy was met with an overwhelming audience cheer and stunned reactions from the judges. “Let me tell you something, Stacy. I’ve done this a long, long time. That was one of the best auditions I have ever heard in my life. Loved it. Loved it. Loved it. I love you,” Cowell gushed. “X Factor” fans were met with even more eye (and ear) appeasing clips when the preview concluded with a dramatic montage and news of a two-night premiere, which airs September 21 and 22. We can also expect some high-profile guests during the show’s premiere season. Rihanna has signed up to guest-judge on an as-yet-undetermined date, according to TMZ .
