According to The Hollywood Reporter , Steve Harvey’s daily program, Steve , will be sent to the talk show graveyard in fall of next year and American Idol winner Kelly Clarkson will take its place. It hasn’t even been two months since Clarkson shot her pilot and NBC has already bought it to air in 11 U.S. cities of New York, Los Angeles, Chicago, Philadelphia, Dallas-Fort Worth, San Francisco, Miami, San Diego, Boston, Hartford and Washington, D.C. “I love connecting with people, playing games, music and finding ways to help or give back to communities/organizations,” Clarkson said of the hourlong show, which is produced by NBCUniversal Domestic TV Distribution. “Having my own talk show where I get to do all of these things is pretty much a dream job!” Kelly’s show is being described as a “weekday brunch party” with lots of guests from various parts of pop culture who are unlikely to ever meet and converse. You here for this, or nah?
So much for all that Idol chatter. A few days after rumors surfaced that Kelly Clarkson would be a judge on the revamped version of American Idol, the original winner of has come out and stunned the television universe: She will, indeed, be a judge on an upcoming season of a beloved, long-time running singing competition. But it will not be the show that made her famous. It will be The Voice. Clarkson made the unexpected announcement on Thursday afternoon alongside Blake Shelton on his Facebook page as part of a live video. The two artists will joined on season 14 by fellow longtime coach Adam Levine, while a fourth coach will be confirmed at a later date. “I’m so excited to join The Voice at NBC,” Clarkson said in a statement. She added: “We’ve gone back and forth about a role as a coach for years, but the timing hasn’t been right until now. “I have always loved appearing on the show as an adviser or performer and established an amazing relationship with the network during my Christmas special. “I can’t wait to turn my chair and see the faces of up-and-coming artists and provide them with the help and support they’ve needed to break into the industry.” Proving she’s ready for the typical weekly trash talk among panelists, Clarkson concluded as follows: “Watch out Shelton, I’m comin’ to win!” There’s also been talk, meanwhile, that Jennifer Hudson will come on board The Voice Season 13 as a judge. Said Paul Telegdy, President, Alternative and Reality Group, NBC Entertainment, in a statement of his own: “Kelly has been a part of The Voice family for many years as an adviser and performer. We are thrilled she has chosen to join us as a coach to mentor the next generation through our unique vocal boot camp. “Every time Kelly Clarkson sings you are reminded what an incredible voice really is. “We are looking forward to the sound of Kelly Clarkson on The Voice.” It was announced on Tuesday that ABC has agreed on a deal to revive American Idol. It will most likely air on Sunday nights next spring, with Ryan Seacrest most likely returning as host. “American Idol on ABC…that has a nice ring to it,” Disney co-chairman Ben Sherwood said about this move, adding: “Idol is an entertainment icon, and now it will air where it belongs, in ABC’s lineup of addictive fan favorites alongside Dancing with the Stars and The Bachelor. America, get ready for the return of a bigger, bolder and better-than-ever Idol. The Voice airs Mondays and Tuesdays at 8 p.m. ET/PT on NBC. Kelly Clarkson has had a wonderful career that has spanned over fourteen years. Clarkson won the first season of American Idol back in 2002. It’s crazy to think that she’s still as relevant as today as she was back then. Her career has continued to flourish, but Idol did not. The singing competition finally concluded earlier this year after 15 seasons. That’s a great run for any series. You’d think singing competitions would be a bit long in the tooth by now, but NBC continues to find success with two cycles of The Voice every year. Granted, there always seems to be some sort of rift with the judges on the show, but it drums up good ratings. Clarkson has enjoyed a lot of success throughout her career. She’s the first artist from the show to achieve 100 Billboard number 1 hit singles. Yes, that means the star has topped the chart at least 100 times. That’s not an easy task for anyone, so she deserves a lot of recognition for that. That said, Kelly is not about to forget where she came from. She knows American Idol gave her the career she has today. Joining singing competitions was the best way to get noticed in 2002. There was no Youtube for artists to go viral back in those days. Kelly took to Twitter to express her gratitude to the once hot Fox series. Kelly Clarkson Brings Everyone to Tears on American Idol “14 yrs ago 2day @AmericanIdol opened a door w/such amazing opportunities & experiences 4 me!” the 34-year-old singer wrote on Twitter on Sunday, September 4. “I am 4ever grateful & blessed! #heresto14more.” There’s every reason to believe that Clarkson will still be topping the charts in fourteen years. She really does have staying power and it’s not often an artist can continue to top the charts after all this time. Kelly recently signed a major record deal with Atlantic Records, so at least we know she’ll continue to release great music. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Welcomed Babies in 2016 She also welcomed a son in April of this year, but she will be back with new music very soon. It just goes to show that even though the final few seasons of American Idol were terrible, the show still served a huge purpose. It gave the likes of Kelly Clarkson a start in an industry that’s very difficult to become a star in. Clarkson even appeared on the final season of the Fox hit, but apparently Carrie Underwood was not impressed . Underwood was given a smaller segment than Clarkson. This peeved Underwood because she knows she is the bigger money maker of the two. What do you think of all of this? Hit the comments below! View Slideshow: 27 Stars Who Shamed Their Body-Shamers
As the war of words between Kesha and famed songwriter/producer Dr. Luke rages on, the list of celebrities and music industry insiders to publicly join the #FreeKesha movement continues to grow. This morning Kelly Clarkson publicly declared her support for her fellow singer, slamming Luke as a bad person during an interview for Australian radio: “He's just not a good person,” Clarkson responded, when asked about her professional relationship. “We've clashed. But I can't really say anything other than that. “I wasn't there…But I can remark on his character. Unfortunately, when you have that poor of character, like, so many artists don't like you, don't like working with you, and that's not normal. “He's just not a good guy…He's just lied a lot, and I've run into a couple of bad situations. He'll just lie to people…And h's difficult to work with, kind of demeaning.” Luke co-wrote Clarkson's 2004 hit “Since U Been Gone,” which remains one of her signature songs. Even so, she claims that she only worked with him on her most recent album because she was “literally blackmailed” by her label. Kesha claims she was repeatedly sexually assaulted by Dr. Luke , but a court recently denied her request to be released from her contract with Sony and Luke.
Kelly Clarkson has delivered some very sad news to a large number of fans. The original American Idol has canceled the remaining 2015 dates on her sold-out tour. In a statement on the artist’s website, Clarkson cited vocal rest as the reason behind this unfortunate change, noting that fans who bought tickets in Canada and the United Kingdom will be eligible for a full refund. “I am truly sorry that I have to cancel the remainder of my tour dates. I was so looking forward to sharing this tour with all my amazing fans in Canada and the UK,” Kelly wrote. “Unfortunately my doctor is telling me I have to stay on vocal rest, but I am working hard to get better as fast as possible.” Clarkson, who is pregnant with her second child , had previously canceled the final six dates on her U.S. tour for the same medical reason. “This kills me, but doctors are saying I need to rest my voice!” she wrote at that time, adding: “I can’t wait to get healthy and see y’all back on the road soon. “I hate canceling and I am truly sorry to my fans that have been excited to see this show. Please know that I never cancel anything unless it’s absolutely necessary.” As you can see below, Clarkson has covered such artists as Rihanna, Demi Lovato and Selena Gomez over the course of her tour: View Slideshow: Kelly Clarkson Covers the Classics: A Compilation
Kelly Clarkson Thinks Jay Z Is “Hot” Via DailyMail On Friday she’ll perform at Sydney’s Star Casino, but Kelly Clarkson doesn’t need a raucous crowd to belt out the high notes. The 33-year-old singer was seen giving a mini concert on Wednesday alongside radio presenters Kyle & Jackie O, when an interesting topic was raised. In a video uploaded to KIISFM’s site, Jackie ‘Jackie O’ Henderson asked Kelly if she found Jay Z ‘hot,’ to which she replied a resolute ‘yes!’ ‘Any kind of confident dude is hot, right?’ she explained, before being asked if that applied to Kanye West. ‘He’s a little too confident,’ the inaugural American Idol winner laughed. Kelly better keep it cool unless she’s ready to feel the fat-shaming wrath of the Beyhive. You know they’ll do it… Image via X17
For shame, Chris Wallace. Appearing on The Mike Gallagher Show Friday, the Fox News anchor started to joke about the host’s weight when Gallagher cut him off. “Listen, don’t fat shame me. You do a lot of fat shaming,” Gallagher replied. “That’s the new phrase now, ‘fat shaming.’ Have you seen Kelly Clarkson? You know the singer, Kelly Clarkson? “Holy cow, did she blow up.” Wallace initially refused to engage in such commentary, but then allowed himself to make a tasteless joke in response. “Kelly Clarkson’s got a lovely voice,” Wallace noted. “She could stay off the deep dish pizza for a little while.” The original American Idol’s weight gain has been an unfortunate topic in the news lately. Some British moron named Katie Hopkins came right out and called Clarkson fat a few weeks ago, prompting an amazing response in which Kelly shrugged and replied: Whatever. She doesn’t know me. I’m awesome ! The artist then appeared opposite Ellen DeGeneres this week and offered the following take on body issues everywhere: “What hurts my feelings for people is that I’ll have a meet-and-greet after the show and a girl who’s like bigger than me will be in the meet-and-greet and be like, ‘Wow, if they think you’re big I must be so fat to them.’ “And it’s like, you’re just who you are.” A colleague of Wallace’s at Fox News colleague, meanwhile, thinks he ought to issue a mea culpa. “This ‘guy snickering’ about her weight is obnoxious. He should apologize,” Greta Van Susteren blogged soon after Wallace’s comments went public. Do you agree? 17 Hot Stars Who Aren’t Super Skinny 1.
