Ariana Grande Will Headline Manchester Bombing Benefit Concert In UK Although Ariana Grande said she will be taking an extended break from performing, she has already reneged…for a very good reason. TMZ reports that Grande will headline what looks to be a huge, A-List, star-studded benefit concert for those affected by the bombing this past week. Word is that Ariana and pop star manager Scooter Braun are making calls to the biggest names in music to come out and perform. The venue for the concert isn’t set yet, but it will not be held at Manchester Arena. The show will be promoted by Live Nation and all of the proceeds will to the injured victims and the families of those who lost their loved ones. Lil Mo Tells Artists Not To Boycott Florida For Trayvon Martin Via CoCoa Fab reports: Lil’ Mo won’t be boycotting Florida for Trayvon Martin, as many of her fellow entertainers have done since the shocking verdict came down. The R&B Divas: L.A. star took to Twitter to explain her reasoning. “Ever since the verdict, a certain artist is boycotting the state of Florida. The fans don’t deserve to be deserted,” she posted. Artists like Stevie Wonder and Mary Mary have officially refused to play any gigs in states with “Stand Your Ground” laws in place.Lil’ Mo wants them and everyone else to reconsider the protest. She even took a jab at Stevie’s blindness to prove her point. “If the coin was right, would HIS staff accept or deny the gig? And if so how would he know? They could say it’s sumpter, sc or nah?” she wrote. “TBH some artists have staff that dedicate their LIFE to that artist so when that artists expires the TEAM outta work. Think abt it b4 u buck,” she tweeted. While she isn’t a fan of the protest, she does have other ideas for taking a stand. “I’m merely stating don’t boycott. “Do a benefit concert give the proceeds to the family,” she said. “My family normally vacations in FLORIDA july 22-aug 2, BUT, As of today we have reneged and will go to Another state instead.” So just to be clear, Mo is fine with boycotting vacations in Florida, just not performances that pay perfectly good money. Jay-Z will make history this February when he performs two benefit concerts for The Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation and the United Way of New York City at New York’s legendary Carnegie Hall . This is a big deal, because it’s the first hip-hop concert series at this venue in its 120-year history. More importantly, it will help a lot of kids get higher education. Jay-Z created The Shawn Carter Scholarship Foundation with his mother Gloria Carter in 2003, and their organization has awarded over 750 students with over $1.3 million dollars in scholarship funds. Teens from Jay’s Marcy neighborhood and the New York area have benefited from these scholarships, and aid has been given to students in all 50 states. About giving back, Jay-Z says, “I’m a lucky person. My situation could have tuned out much different, my story is an anomaly.” Jay-Z’s benefit concerts at Carnegie Hall will take place on February 6th, 2012 at 8 pm and on February 7th, 2012 at 9:30 pm. “These concerts underscore the message of why we’ve been doing this,” Jay-Z added. Private tickets go on sale on December 12th and can be purchased online at UnitedWayNYC.org or ShawnCarterSF.com . Records Earlier this summer, when Linkin Park took over Moscow’s Red Square for a historic — and decidedly Michael Bay-size — performance, they also spoke to MTV News about the follow-up to A Thousand Suns, which, at the time, was just beginning to take shape (“Right now, it sounds like blips and bleeps and pieces,” frontman Chester Bennington described). So, earlier this week, when Linkin Park took over Los Angeles’ Mayan Theater for an equally historic — yet decidedly more personal — benefit concert for Japanese earthquake and tsunami relief , we got the chance to once again ask them about the new album. And, as Bennington explained, things have progressed — albeit just slightly. “We just kind of began. We like to keep the creative juices flowing, so we try to keep that going all the time,” he said. “We don’t know when the next record is going to be done. We are in the beginning phases of that. We’re still winding down A Thousand Suns and touring for that, so I can tell you we are working and we’re excited, and we like the direction that we’re going in.” Bennington added that the band has been working closely with producer Rick Rubin, who will once again helm the sessions for the yet-untitled disc. And though it’s still early, Linkin Park are already pleased with the results. “[Rick’s] involved all the way, all the time, from the very beginning. You know, we ask him, ‘What do you think of these ideas?’ ” he said. “And we’re kind of getting the wheels rolling. … It’s so hard to talk about something that hasn’t been created yet, but, like I said, we definitely like the way things are going already.” What are you expecting from Linkin Park’s next album?
