Miley Cyrus’ Manager on VMA Performance: Epic WIN!

Miley Cyrus’ VMA performance Sunday night was troubling and/or offensive – Dr. Laura slammed her as a tasteless, disgusting whore – by many people. Her manager is not one of those people. Miley Cyrus Team: Concerned Over VMA Performance Larry Rudolph said of Miley Cyrus Twerking and writhing all over the stage, “It could not have gone better. The fans got it. The rest eventually will.” Wait … Miley still has fans after that? Rudolph, who is also Britney Spears’ manager, said that Cyrus’ family and friends, including mom Tish “were all cheering from the side of the stage.” He refutes reports that her team is “concerned” (see above) and echoed Miley’s refrain that it got the fans buzzing – A LOT – exactly as she’d hoped. As for who came up with that memorable – for better or worse – performance that still has fans buzzing five days later? All Miles, her manager says: “Most it came from Miley’s brain. But she collaborated with [music video director] Diane Martel, who helped her conceive it and bring in the spirit of the VMAs.” “And Todd James designed all of those amazing bears .” Amazing is one way of putting it. In her latest self portrait, the sexy singer rocks robe and sunglasses, not to mention a short blonde wig, with the caption “Just a casual day at the office.” Rihanna has an office? Who knew. Anyway, enjoy: The newly-single star recently took to Twitter and Instagram to show off some Canadian tuxedo side boob , showing Chris Brown exactly what he’s missing. For better or worse. Karrueche might win that round. The wig/robe/pantsless look though? Hot, right?!

WATCH: Will ‘Behind The Candelabra’ Convey Liberace’s Cultural Impact?

The new trailer for Steven Soderbergh’s Behind The Candelabra   sure is compelling, but will the HBO movie do justice to Liberace ?  The clip leaves little doubt that  Michael Douglas , who plays the flamboyant entertainer in this tragicomic love story, and Matt Damon , who portrays his much younger lover, Scott Thorson , are going to be memorable, and that Soderbergh has taken a measured approach to the camp aspects of this story. But what I can’t tell from the footage is whether  Behind The Candelabra will give Liberace his due as a pioneering postwar performance artist. Liberace’s Cultural Impact It’s easy to mock Liberace’s extreme sequin & fur vibe and lifestyle, but, the reality is, he was a show-business maverick who had an incredible influence on American pop culture. For better or worse, you can trace jump-suited Vegas-era Elvis , Elton John , 1970s glam rock, Siegfried & Roy , Madonna , Lady Gaga and even elements of   The Incredible Burt Wonderstone   to Liberace’s show-business DNA. Way back in the conservative 1950s, he was swanning into American homes via a syndicated television show and mesmerizing audiences with a combination of shock and schmaltz. Even if he never did come out of the closet, he still broke down a lot of barriers just by letting his freak flag fly. I’m sure that Liberace’s cultural significance is not lost on Soderbergh, but I do hope Behind The Candelabra acknowledges it in some smart way. Jenelle Evans Miscarriage: Teen Mom 2 Star Loses Baby, Report Claims

As many feared after her hospitalization just eight weeks into her pregnancy, Teen Mom 2 star Jenelle Evans reportedly suffered a miscarriage early Friday. “Jenelle lost the baby this morning,” a friend of hers tells celeb gossip site Radar Online , and her Twitter, while not saying so explicitly, certainly suggests as much. The 21-year-old has has a tumultuous two weeks, to say the least. Since announcing she was pregnant, she’s accused her husband of cheating, said she’s getting a divorce, filed assault charges against him, and been hospitalized. “She’s sad and upset, but she’ll make it through,” the friend said. Following Courtland Rogers ‘ wild night out boozing Sunday – which he admits (he denies cheating or assaulting her) the couple’s 51-day marriage imploded. The MTV star’s friend said she hasn’t spoken to her estranged husband at all today and so he hasn’t been told about Jenelle Evans ‘ miscarriage yet. If he reads Twitter, however, he’ll get a sense of what’s going on: Reading between the lines, and given the stress she’s been under over the past five or six days, it seems like Radar ‘s report is probably legitimate. We wish it wouldn’t be, but that’s the impression we get. For those unfamiliar, the man referenced in several of her recent Tweets is Gary Head, who was engaged to Jenelle last year before she married Rogers. He denies they’re physically involved – as Rogers has already implied – but he’s clearly back in her life, for better or worse. She’s pretty open about that. Here’s wishing her the best in this difficult time.

Tom Hanks is a funny dude. It’s easy to forget this, given his acclaimed performances in many Oscar-winning films, but this is a guy who can drop f-bombs on GMA or pose for drunk Reddit pics with the best of ’em. His latest unexpected comedic masterpiece? A spot-on slam poem about Full House, performed on Late Night With Jimmy Fallon. Yes, we’re serious, and it’s hilarious: Tom Hanks Full House Slam Poem Dressed in a simple black turtleneck, Hanks delivered a poem that re-imagines “Beach Boy Bingo,” the classic episode in which DJ scores tix to see Uncle Jesse’s favorite band. Who knew it could be interpreted as a post-modern feminist parable of sorts … deep. Hanx was on the show to promote high-minded Oscar bait Cloud Atlas , naturally.

Farrah Abraham Plastic Surgery: Revealed!

Farrah Abraham is loving her new look. Her plastic surgeon likely is too. The Teen Mom star shows off her new face on the cover of In Touch: As for what, specifically, the 21-year-old had done, she told the celebrity gossip magazine she underwent just two procedures, a rhinoplasty and a chin implant. Yes, a chin implant. “I’ve hated my nose since I was 13,” said the reality star, who’s been down this road before ( Farrah Abraham’s boob job has already been well documented). The single mom is happy with the way she looks now, she says, and isn’t planning any more “work.” Here’s hoping we don’t have another Heidi Montag on our hands. What do you think? Does she look better or worse after plastic surgery? Should it matter? Is she setting a bad example for the young girls who watch her show?

Mitt Romney’s son, Tagg, wanted to tag the Prez in the face the other night. During a radio interview, the oldest of the Republican White House candidate’s five sons was asked for his thoughts on Tuesday’s presidential debate with Barack Obama. Tagg Romney on Taking a Swing at Obama His reaction to the often heated affair moderated by Candy Crowley ? Tagg’s first instinct was to walk out there and “take a swing at him,” he said of hearing President Obama accuse his father of lying, but “of course you can’t do that.” There’s “lots of secret service around,” for one. Also, this is “part of the process.” One that mercifully comes to an end, for better or worse, on November 6. Tagg, who was clearly kidding about throwing literal punches, added, “You know they will do everything they can to try to make my dad into someone he’s not. President Obama on Clint Eastwood: Big Fan!

President Barack Obama says he doesn’t take the unexpected ribbing Clint Eastwood gave him at the RNC personally. In fact, he remains a big fan of the actor. “I am a huge Clint Eastwood fan,” the president told USA Today. “He is a great actor, and an even better director,” the Commander-in-Chief continued. “I think the last few movies that he’s made have been terrific.” At the Republican National Convention, Eastwood roused the crowd with a 12-minute oratory that included a satirical interview with an invisible Obama . The 82-year-old berated the President in the form of an empty chair. ” Eastwooding ” gave way to countless parodies and earned a place in the pop culture lexicon. Coverage of Eastwood’s speech in recent days eclipsed that of even Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney, who took the stage shortly thereafter. Most observers considered the routine bizarre (for better or worse), with some critics calling it borderline vulgar. Obama, however, was not offended by it. “One thing about being president or running for president – if you’re easily offended, you should probably choose another profession,” the president said. Obama, who did Tweet a response to the RNC speech , said not to expect any similar acts at this week’s Democratic National Convention in Charlotte, N.C. “I think we’ll be playing this pretty straight,” he said.
