President Obama Responds to Clint Eastwood RNC Speech: This Seat’s Taken!

Clint Eastwood’s Invisible Obama routine was the talk of the 2012 Republican National Convention, and it caught the attention of the Commander-in-Chief himself. Before Mitt Romney’s RNC speech last night, the actor, director and ardent GOPer made a rambling speech that featured him talking to “Obama” in an empty chair. The President’s response? A picture – sent from @BarackObama, run by his campaign – of him sitting in a chair marked The President. The caption: “This seat’s taken.” Eastwood’s unorthodox speech instantly spawned memes galore, not to mention an @InvisibleObama Twitter account, which already has more than 47,000 followers. No word if Clint and/or Mitt have friended the invisible POTUS on there, but his bit – for better or worse – was unquestionably a highlight of the RNC. “So I’ve got Mr. Obama sitting here … Mr. President, how do you handle promises you’ve made?” the 82-year-old Oscar winner asked the chair at one point. You can see for yourself below … but spoiler alert, it gave no response.

Don’t they make a great couple? Keith is an author and businessman and the spouses recently launched their unisex fragrance “US”. Setting facts straight Various sources have reported that Bobbi Kristina has walked off her new TV show , For Better or Worse. But, Mighty Madea has come forward to dispel the rumors. Via TMZ reports : Tyler Perry is calling BS on reports Whitney Houston’s daughter Bobbi Kristina walked off the set of his TV show “For Better Or Worse” — claiming the rumors are “not true at all.” Bobbi Kristina has a small recurring role on the show — but reports have been circulating she called it quits before wrapping the season, storming off the set in tears. Now Tyler — the creator of the show — has taken to his website to dispel the rumors, writing, “There is no way that she could have walked off the set because we have finished taping the season.” Tyler writes, “Were there tough days for her? Yes of course. Not because of the acting or any job-related issues but because of the fact that she had just lost her mother.” He adds, “So yes she was grieving, but grief aside, she managed to finish her obligation and did a great job at the same time.” Good to see Bobbi is standing strong! However, do you think it might be too early for her to be back in the public spotlight while she’s still mourning her mother’s death?

The Unit From Jersey Shore: What a Douche!

Jonny Manfre, a.k.a. The Unit, is making his presence felt in the new season of Jersey Shore – for better or worse. So who is the Situation’s right-hand, pot-stirring man? On the Season 5 premiere of the MTV hit, the gang returned from Italy to a welcome home bash in Seaside. Snooki’s BFF Ryder and The Unit were among the attendees. It got awkward fast. Not only did Ryder ride The Unit at some point, but Jonny M. also witnessed the alleged Snooki-Situation hookup – to Mike’s everlasting delight. Because we know you’re DYING to know, here are some fun Unit facts: He’s Mike’s BFF. Seriously. Two peas in a PED-enhanced pod. He is dating a girl named Amia Miley (pictured) somehow: The Unit, a Situation original nickname, refers to what you think it does. Gross. He allegedly smushed Ryder while Snooki served Sitch right next to him. Gross. Unit joined Mike’s plot to fake rat out Snooki to Jionni just for fun in Season 4. He was arrested outside the Seaside house during Season 5 with a “mysterious powdery white substance” and faces drug possession charges as a result. He was recently, and still may be, in a relationship with an “award-winning porn actress.” Sigh. Huge letdown for you ladies out there, we’re sure.

‘Jersey Shore’ Season Five ‘One Of My Best,’ Pauly D Says

New season, which premieres January 5, finds the cast returning to the Shore and burying old beefs. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Sway Calloway Pauly D Photo: MTV The last season of MTV’s “Jersey Shore” was an Italian debacle on par with Silvio Berlusconi ( look it up ). It was 12 episodes of infighting, head-butting, vehicular mishaps, ill-fated hookup attempts and, of course, Sammi and Ronnie. So when news broke that the gang would be returning to their spiritual home of Seaside Heights, New Jersey, for the upcoming fifth season , there was much rejoicing — especially from the stars themselves. As Pauly D recently told MTV News, they left all the drama back in Italy and focused instead on just having fun. “There was a lot of tension in [Italy], because we were away from our friends, away from our family, so all we had was each other — that’s it,” Pauly said. “So now we literally ran to Jersey, because we missed it so much, and we just shared that bond, because we’ve been there before, so we enjoyed it with everybody this year. It was really one of my best years, I think.” In the new season, Pauly said even the most ardent of foes — like, say, Snooki and the Situation, who traded barbs (among other things) during their Italian holiday — have buried the tension. “They’re better. It was tough for me to live in the house when they were doing that, because it was way out of left field, I wasn’t expecting that,” Pauly explained. “But what’s crazy about it is that we’ll fight, but we still come together at the end of the day, as a family almost. Kind of like a messed-up family.” Pauly also said that, despite previous reports, his best pal Vinny is still very much a part of the new season. While he has plenty of answers about the new “Shore” season, even Pauly was at a loss when it comes to the current relationship status of Sammi and Ronnie, the, uh, star-crossed couple whose constant bickering has become (for better or worse) a staple of the show. “Man, I don’t know. They change like the weather. Are they together, are they not? I don’t even know,” he laughed.” I love them both. Together, it’s crazy. I don’t even need a relationship, because I’m living through theirs.” The fifth season of “Jersey Shore” premieres Thursday, January 5, at 10 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. Simon Cowell: ‘X Factor’ Boot Camp Is ‘Uncomfortable’

By James Montgomery, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Simon Cowell Photo: MTV News As if early episodes — and folks like Brian Bradley , 2Squar’d and that dude who ripped off Prince &#8212l; haven’t already proven the point, “X Factor” has been working overtime to prove that it’s nothing like “American Idol.” And if for some reason you’re still not seeing the differences, well, just wait until the “Factor” kicks off its Boot Camp on Wednesday night’s show. Because, as judge Simon Cowell told MTV News, unlike the high-gloss “Idol” Hollywood Week, Boot Camp will be, well, real. “I’ve seen them all and I’ve made a ton of them, [and] what I do know, because obviously I was there, [was] that I wanted to show the viewers what actually happened,” he said. “So the first cut you get is the producer’s cut, where everything’s fantastic and I’m hilarious, whatever, whatever. But that was not the week I saw. Just show the process — the good, the bad, the terrible. Let the audience make their own mind up. “I mean, it’s quite uncomfortable,” Cowell continued. “[And] I haven’t seen the finished cut yet, but it’s a lot, lot better, and you really do feel you know what it’s like now to be a contestant on one of these shows and what we felt; we were under pressure as well.” Highlighting that pressure is the added emphasis on choreography, which really comes to the forefront during Boot Camp — for better or worse. But, as Cowell said, viewers will get to see it all, because that’s what auditioning for a singing competition is really like. “It wasn’t a test. We didn’t judge them on it. We just said that if you wanted to be a star today, you’re going to have to be on a stage in front of lots of people, and sometimes you’re going to have to learn how to dance,” he said. “Certain people just flatly refused to do it, other people tried and failed miserably, and then other people we were kind of drawn to because we thought, ‘You should try it … we’re looking at you.’ ” Are you looking forward to Boot Camp on “X Factor”?
