“We#39;ve both had good weddings [before],” Tom Vitale, 48, told us Monday at the New York premiere of Bertinelli#39;s TV Land show, Hot in Cleveland, which costars Betty White and airs Wednesday at 10 p.m. ET. “Now we want a good marriage.” They are in the midst of planning their wedding, but for Valerie Bertinelli and fiancé Tom Vitale creating the perfect ceremony isn#39;t high on their to-do list. So will it be a big over-the-top wedding or a more intimate affair? “It#39;s not about the pa

What’s On: One Dayton at a Time

Like you, I’m psyched for Betty White’s return to the small screen on Hot in Cleveland , a sitcom about three cosmopolitan women who move to Ohio and live with an elderly caretaker, but I’m just as torqued for the two of the other primetime veterans in this TVL and Series: Valerie Bertinelli and Wendie Malick. The former kept One Day at a Time vivacious for its nine-year run, and the latter gave Just Shoot Me some brassy edge. Tonight’s programming also includes the return of a beloved Bravo series and So You Think You Can Dance ‘s competitive weeks.

Betty White on The View: Remembering Rue and The Golden Girls

Since Rue McClanahan’s passing on June 3, there’s one thing that’s been missing: the comforting coo of Rose Nylund herself, Betty White. Though White released a statement about her Golden Girls co-star immediately after her death, it wasn’t until today on The View that we were able to see her reflect on the duo’s halcyon days of lanais and pastel-colored pants. Video of White discussing the shock of McClanahan’s death (and her status as the last living Golden Girl) is after the jump.

The American electoral climate this week may be wired with all kinds of new, polarizing developments, and the Gulf of Mexico may yet fill with 40 million gallons of BP’ s oil . Sandra Bullock Calls Scarlett Johansson ‘A Great Kisser’

Actress praises co-star Ryan Reynolds’ wife after their MTV Movie Awards lip-lock. By Kara Warner Scarlett Johansson and Sandra Bullock lock lips onstage at the 2010 MTV Movie Awards Photo: Jeff Kravitz/ FilmMagic We all expected Sandra Bullock to be sincere and graceful as she accepted her Generation Award at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards. But the day after the show, we’re still buzzing about how sexy the speech was thanks to Bullock’s brief smooch with Scarlett Johansson . “Ryan [Reynolds] is right — Scarlett is a great kisser,” Bullock told UsMagazine.com after locking lips onstage with her co-star’s wife. Johansson seemed an odd choice to have among Generation Award presenters Bradley Cooper and Betty White , both former Bullock co-stars, especially since she refrained from offering any commentary on the celebrated star. While accepting the award, Bullock paused and addressed the oddity, asking Johansson point-blank why she was onstage. Johansson responded that she was there in place of her husband, Ryan Reynolds, who couldn’t be there to support his “Proposal” co-star. She coyly complimented Bullock for the really nice, really soft-looking kiss that earned her and Reynolds a Best Kiss nomination. She then slowly approached the honoree and proceeded to share a sweet lady kiss. “Now that we have done that, can we please go back to normal?” Bullock pleaded with the audience, turning attention to those affected by the devastating BP oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico. “Because therapy is really expensive. Go back to making fun of me, I don’t care. It’s time to get back to normal.” Easier said than done. The Sandra-Scarlett kiss is the talk of the town. When MTV caught up with Betty White , we wondered whether the “Golden Girls” star was jealous she didn’t also receive a smooch from Sandra. “No! To each his own!” White told MTV News backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre. “Anywhere you’re near Sandra Bullock, you’re in good shape!” Will Ferrell also offered his two cents on what he thought was a clear Movie Awards 2010 highlight. “I can say Sandra Bullock and Charlotte,” meaning Johansson, he said when asked what he enjoyed seeing the most. He then semi-corrected his mispronunciation, “Scarlett Johansson. She goes by Charlotte, though — she usually drops the ‘S.’ ” Russell Brand chose to critique the kiss and suggest a more creative approach for next time. “I think one of them needed to invert for it to be of any real value,” he told MTV News. ” I’d like to suggest this script: It’s from a website called NomsTeachingTeens.com. Sandra can be a mom figure, and Scarlett would be a niece, and then they would do it, sexual-wise, with perhaps a puppet.” What did you think of Sandra and Scarlett’s lip-lock? Betty White On Scarlett Johansson/ Sandra Bullock Kiss: ‘To Each His Own!’

‘Anywhere you’re near Sandra Bullock, you’re in good shape!’ her ‘Proposal’ co-star says backstage at MTV Movie Awards. By Jocelyn Vena Betty White leaving the Gibson at the 2010 Movie Awards Photo: MTV News While it was Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart’s kiss that had Twilighters salivating on Sunday (June 6), another MTV Movie Awards kiss ended up stealing the show. When MTV Generation Award honoree Sandra Bullock hit the stage to accept her award, she and presenter Scarlett Johansson — on hand as a proxy of sorts for her hubby and Bullock’s “The Proposal” co-star Ryan Reynolds — decided to kiss, surprising everyone with a reenactment of Bullock’s lip-lock with Meryl Streep at the Critics’ Choice Movie Awards earlier this year. So, was Bullock’s “The Proposal” co-star Betty White , who was also onstage to pay tribute, jealous that she wasn’t the one locking lips? “No! To each his own!” White told MTV News, when we caught up with her backstage at the Gibson Amphitheatre. “Anywhere you’re near Sandra Bullock, you’re in good shape!” Betty showed off her great comic timing during her homage to the actress. “You are grace defined and I adore you madly,” the “Golden Girls” star said of working together in the 2009 romantic comedy. “Our sex scenes were cut for theatrical release,” White lamented, “but don’t worry, everyone can see them on the unrated DVD. Sandy, you are a national treasure, which I know a thing or two about since my ovaries were recently named historical monuments.” Then, despite professing to be a huge fan of Bullock’s works, the legendary comedian went on to prove she actually knew very little about the actress’ oeuvre, describing Bullock’s Oscar-winning turn in “The Blind Side” as her “daring and race-bending portrayal of Stevie Wonder.” White and Johansson were also joined onstage by Bullock’s “All About Steve” co-star Bradley Cooper. “You’re a once-in-a-generation talent,” Cooper said. “You inspire me with the ability to shine through any darkness, and congratulations on this award.” Relive the wildest, funniest and most-jaw-dropping moments of the 2010 MTV Movie Awards, watch revealing red-carpet interviews and get exclusive movie clips after the show at MovieAwards.MTV.com. Rue McClanahan and Betty Work Blue

Have you ever wanted to see Rue McClanahan and Betty White trade dirty jokes while on the set of Golden Girls ? Well, here’s your chance! In the wake of McClanahan’s passing earlier this week, TMZ has unearthed a “never-before-seen video” — with a non-working embed code, harumph — of the two ladies killing time between takes in the mid-’80s the only way they could: By swapping bestiality jokes. And, in McClanahan’s case, bestiality jokes told by Conrad Bain. Because, of course Conrad Bain would walk around telling a joke that concludes with “Will you hold that dog for me?” [ TMZ ]
