The folks at Marvel Studios know where their bread is buttered, and who’s doin’ the buttering. Black Panther is the superhero silo’s biggest domestic moneymaker of all time ($681 million) and only $70 million from being number two overall after the OG Avengers. If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. According to Collider , the studio’s president, Kevin Feige, stopped just short of making a 100% guarantee that Ryan Coogler will be the HNIC (he didn’t use that term, but still) on Black Panther part two. When will that be? Well… “We definitely want Ryan to come back and that’s actively being worked out right now. When will it be? A lot of it will be when Ryan wants to and not rushing anything, but I think we have an idea of when it will be. But, again, [we’re] not going to announce any post-Avengers 4 movies until hopefully after Avengers 4, which is another reason we’re not going to Comic-Con.” Feige also had this to say about Black Panther’s enormous success and how it affected the future of the MCU: “The success of Panther is so amazing and makes us happy for so many reasons, and it certainly exceeded our lofty expectations. But our expectations were always lofty, so we had built a plan, not the least of which was centering so much of Infinity War in those locations and with some of those characters, that [its success] just says, ‘Let’s stick to this plan.’ It would have bee much more disruptive if it had not worked. Then we would have had to change a lot of what we were thinking about, but it really just solidifies and excites us to continue to move forward in the directions we’re heading in.” Wakanda forever!
In what was a much anticipated return, Glee kicked off season 5 with a tribute to the Beatles! And just in case we didn’t get enough of the Beatles, we’ll have even more Beatles next week! But let’s not get ahead of ourselves. For the full Glee review , head over to TV Fanatic, but here’s the rundown on what’s been happening in the halls of McKinley since we last saw our New Directions. Glee Season Premiere: Who Got Engaged?!? Funny Girl : Rachel didn’t get the role of Fanny Bryce. Or maybe she did. After overhearing the producers talking about how she was “too green” (Rachel. Green. See what I did there?) Rachel assumed she didn’t get the part and wandered the streets of NYC singing “Yesterday.” While the song was about Rachel’s past and her quest for fame on the bright lights of Broadway, the song felt very much about the late Cory Monteith. Here Kitty Kitty : Kitty and Artie are an item. And Kitty’s…nice? At first she wants to keep it a secret to protect her street cred since there’s a new Cheerio on the pyramid, but when Tina calls her out for being emotionally abusive, Kitty says she’s ready to let the world know that she and “Arthur” are a thing. Oddest pairing ever. In Bowties And In Health: Get your I
This television has a great picture. I took off one star because it has no output for video. I wanted to run the cable connection through the dvd player and was not able to do so. The other reason is because the directions and placement of the regular red, white and yellow input were unusual. The red and white are normal, but the yellow does not go above them, but in the top output across. (The “x#39;s” represent the input connections) X X > X white – on right X > X red – on right It has more
A while ago, I wrote a MBE on June 27th, 2010. I met Scooter and Ryan. I thought that was the best thing that would ever happen to me. But on October 20th, 2012 my life changed. I had a BieberFever account a long time ago, but kind of forgot about it, and then I heard there were contests on there to meet Justin. I combined my stuff with my friend’s for the merch contest and sent in the photo. I knew I had a very slim chance at winning this. I bought 10th row tickets from the pre-sale for $250 each. It was worth every penny . So it was the night of the concert (October 20th) and my friend was at my house making shirts for the concert. At 3:14 p.m. an email popped up on my phone, “CONGRATULATIONS LORA! YOU’RE OFFICIALLY INVITED TO ATTEND THE PHOTO MEET AND GREET TOMORROW NIGHT!” My friend didn’t see it at first. I just started balling my eyes out. She was freaking out and I think my mom knew what was up and was recording me. I was sobbing telling her we were going to meet Justin Bieber. Yes, Justin Bieber, the one I’ve supported since December 2008. I couldn’t believe it. I never thought anything like this would EVER happen to me. It turns out, my 3 friends on Twitter also won the contest. I couldn’t sleep that night, I literally made sure all of my hair and make up was perfect and then we went to the concert. We got there around noon and couldn’t pick up our wristbands until about 4, so in the mean time, I met Kenny and talked to him on his cool segway. We went to the box office and to get our passes, and the lady had no clue what we were talking about. My heart just dropped. I had to show her the email, and she had to get about 15 people to find out where our darn passes were. We finally got them in the envelope where it gave us our directions and we met up with my Twitter friends. We were all freaking out and singing his songs. We got inside and they said we had to be in groups of 6, which was perfect because there was 6 of us. The whole time in line I was thinking to myself, “I’m not ready for this, I’ve waited my whole life. I can not believe this is actually happening. It can’t happen now because I don’t want it to ever end.” The line had a ton of people and took about 2 hours. When we were by the curtain, Kenny was right there. He did a little handshake with me and opened the curtain. I didn’t know Justin would be right behind the curtain, I thought he’d be in a separate area. But no, on October 21, 2012 at 5:10 p.m. I met Justin. I was the first one in my group to walk through the curtain and I just froze. The first thing that popped into my head was, “perfect.” There was not a single flaw on him, he had perfect hair, eyes, shoes, pants, shirt – you name it. His perfect-self smiled and asked, “Hey, How are you?” I said, “I’m great, how are you?” As we were getting lined up, I got to stand next to him and he smelt like pure heaven. It was a scent indescribable. I said to him, “You smell really good!” He laughed and said, “Well, thank you!” We took the picture and I hugged him. I told him I loved him and he said “Aww, I love you to.” He hugged me even tighter. I was walking out and turned back, and I saw him looking at me with his gorgeous brown eyes and pearl white teeth smiling at me. We all started balling our eyes out. They cut off our wristbands and at this time I knew that was it. I couldn’t be more thankful for this experience. It was the best night of my life and I never thought it would ever happen. I want all of you to really believe in yourselves, because I honestly never thought I’d get to meet him after 5 years. It was the most amazing feeling to finally have my whole world in my arms. Never Say Never. -@BiebersShawtie See more here: A while ago, I wrote a MBE on June 27th, 2010. I met Scooter and…
Teenage phenom is in final negotiations for multi-episode arc next season. By Kara Warner Jessica Sanchez Photo: As if there weren’t already enough excitement surrounding the slightly restructured fourth season of “Glee,” with the characters’ story lines picking up after high school, word on the street is that an “American Idol” finalist will be joining the cast in the fall. According to TV Line , 16-year-old phenom Jessica Sanchez is in final negotiations to join Rachel, Finn, Mr. Schu and the rest of the “Glee” gang for a multi-episode arc. There is no word on what specific role Sanchez will play, or whether she’ll be part of McKinley High’s National Championship-winning New Directions or will surface in the form of competition at another school. Because of Sanchez’s previous commitments to the summer “Idol” tour, she won’t be able to appear on the hit series until closer to the halfway mark of season four. If and when Sanchez’s stint on the show is officially announced, the California native will join an illustrious list of famous “Glee” guest stars: Gwyneth Paltrow, Britney Spears, Neil Patrick Harris, Lindsay Lohan and international pop star Charice. In addition to juggling her responsibilities on the “Idol” tour and the potential gig on “Glee,” the pint-sized powerhouse is also hard at work on her first solo album, which she hopes has more of an urban sound. “I don’t want people to just hand me music and be like, ‘Here, you sound good on this. Sing it.’ I want to be able to say, ‘This is me,’ ” Sanchez told MTV News recently , adding that she has high hopes for some A-list contributors on the album. “This is going to seem odd, but I love Eminem, because he has so much conviction and emotion in the way he raps; every word that he raps, you feel it,” she said. “And I think our talents would mesh. So, hopefully, it could happen, and I would just die if he’d collaborate with me!” Get your “Idol” fix on MTV News’ “American Idol” page , where you’ll find all the latest news, interviews and opinions.
‘I mean, you never really know what’s true and what’s not,’ Lea Michele tells MTV News about Lohan’s appearance on the show. By Jocelyn Vena Lindsay Lohan on “Glee” Photo: Adam Rose/ FOX On Tuesday night, the long-hyped Lindsay Lohan episode of “Glee” hit the airwaves. Although her appearance was short, it was also full of sweet, self-deprecating humor. The actress, playing herself, was able to make cracks about her contentious public image. Joking on the show that she’s “in full ‘image re-branding mode’ here, people,” Lohan appeared as a judge at Nationals choir competition in Chicago, where the Gleeks of the New Directions were performing for all the glory. Lohan’s glory may have lasted only two minutes and 46 seconds, but she packed some punches, even taking a shot at “The Voice,” which has been going head-to-head with “Glee” network Fox’s own “American Idol” this season. “I show up here and there isn’t even a red button I can push and a chair that can spin me around, where I can then point at a kid onstage and say, ‘I want to work with you’? I’m seriously firing my manager.” Leading up to her cameo, there had been lots of chatter that LaLohan may not have been all that professional about the gig. After being cast on the show in March , rumors began to spread weeks later that the actress was late to set because she had been hitting the party scene right before she had to shoot. While co-star Perez Hilton (who also played a judge on the episode) skirted around the issue when MTV News caught up with him, the show’s stars Lea Michele and Chris Colfer seemed unaware of the controversy. Colfer shared that he was “not surprised, unfortunately” to hear that people had been spreading rumors about her, with his pal Michele adding that everything seemed kosher when she was on set. “I mean, you never really know what’s true and what’s not,” she explained to MTV News at the Fox upfront in New York City this week. “From what we know, she did her stuff and we were busy shooting ours.” Regardless of what really happened when Lohan appeared on the show, perhaps this line stands as her finest statement about her relationship with the public: “Is there anything better than someone making a comeback?” The show’s third season finale, “Goodbye,” airs May 22. Season four will kick off this fall with a spankin’-new Britney Spears tribute episode , as well as cameos by Kate Hudson and Sarah Jessica Parker . What did you think of Lindsay’s cameo on “Glee”? ‘This prom is very different from last year’s,’ actress tells MTV News. By Christina Garibaldi Dianna Agron Photo: MTV News “Glee” is gearing up for the senior prom. In the highly anticipated episode, the McKinley High School seniors will be dressing to the nines to celebrate the milestone night on Tuesday’s (May 8) episode. With only three episodes left until the big season finale, this will surely be a night to remember before the seniors put on those caps and gowns for graduation. No prom would be complete without a theme, and that’s where Heather Morris’ character Brittany came in. She picked the very unique theme of dinosaurs, making this not a regular prom but a “prom-asaurus.” “Glee” star Dianna Agron stopped by MTV News last month and gave us a sneak peek at what fans can expect from the big bash. “We had Eric Stoltz back with us, who directed last year’s — he’s really fun and really knows teenage life. That prom episode last year really felt like ‘Pretty in Pink’ and ‘Sixteen Candles’ — it had that awesome touch to it,” Agron said. “This prom is very different from last year’s. It wasn’t some of our last year, and there wasn’t really that thought process like that this might be one of the last moments together, so that’s all really incorporated in this year’s. There’s a fun theme to it; there’s some really surprising moments. I think people will like it.” Even though there is a dinosaur theme, unfortunately no one will actually be playing that part, even though Agron said she “wishes” she could have. However, the actress is just excited to re-create prom night, which she admits was very different from her own prom experience. “We went with all of our friends, so it wasn’t really so much of ‘let’s have a romantic date.’ There were about 25 of us who just said, ‘OK pick somebody,’ ” Agron revealed. “And we all went in a bus and we all had dinner before. It was just really fun and a lot of dancing.” Another thing that will be different at the “Glee” prom, of course, is the music. The cast will appropriately be taking on Ke$ha ‘s “Dinosaur.” Lea Michele will be tackling Fergie ‘s “Big Girls Don’t Cry” and the New Directions will be taking on One Direction with their cover of “What Makes You Beautiful.” “We met them when we were on ‘X Factor,’ like a year and a half ago in London,” Agron said of meeting the boy band. “They were so sweet, so cute. They were very cheeky, and now I’ve heard two of their songs, very catchy.” Are you excited for the prom episode of “Glee”? Let us know in the comments.
The Fox hit series Glee will pay homage to the late, great singer Whitney Houston April 24 in an episode appropriately entitled “Dance With Somebody.” New Directions will cover some of Whitney’s hart-toppers, and it looks like Brittany (Heather Morris) and Santana (Naya Rivera) will do the title song. Here’s a promotional photo from Glee’s Whitney Houston episode … The show returns with an all-new episode tonight. Next week, in “Saturday Night Glee-ver,” the Glee club will page homage to the movie Saturday Night Fever . Hope you’re all ready for some disco-infused numbers, followed by Whitney the following week, and probably some not-so-subtle PSAs thrown in as well. Interestingly, Glee’s Amber Riley shot this cover of “I Will Always Love You” right before Houston passed away. Will be tough to top. Listen below … Amber Riley – I Will Always Love You (Glee Clip)
‘I sing part of ‘Black [or] White.’ I’m the ‘white’ in ‘Black [or] White,’ ‘ actor reveals on the Golden Globes red carpet. By Amy Wilkinson, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Chris Colfer Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images Fox’s song-and-dance series “Glee” is no stranger to a star-studded cameo or two, with the likes of Gwyneth Paltrow, John Stamos and Kristin Chenoweth all walking the halls of McKinley High during the past two and a half seasons. And as the show returns from a month-long hiatus, Gleeks aren’t the only ones anticipating a few more famous faces. As star Chris Colfer told MTV News on the Golden Globes red carpet, there’s plenty to look forward to when New Directions warble again January 17. “Well, the Michael Jackson episode …,” Colfer answered when asked about his most-anticipated upcoming episodes. “We have a Spanish episode coming up with Ricky Martin. We have a Valentine’s Day episode coming up, so that’s going to be fun.” Martin is slated to play “the hottest Spanish teacher ever in the history of Ohio,” according to TVLine . The actor/singer recently tweeted a joyful picture from his first day on set. As to how the King of Pop’s prolific songbook will manifest itself in the January 31 tribute episode, Colfer explained, “Well, I sing part of ‘Black [or] White.’ I’m the ‘White’ in ‘Black [or] White,’ and I sing ‘Ben,’ that famous song he wrote for the rat.” The rodent in question is the pet of a young boy named Danny in the 1972 film “Ben.” Jackson sang a version of the theme song that appeared in the movie’s closing credits and was later included on his 1972 album also named Ben . The track “Black or White” was the first single off of Jackson’s 1991 album Dangerous .
