For Discussion: BeyBey Asks Women To ‘Bow Down,’ Is She Suffering From A Mid-Life/Career Identity Crisis?

Is BeyBey losing her identity?? Is Beyonce Having A Career Identity Crisis Via The Grio reports: I’m writing about Beyoncé today because I can’t avoid her. Earlier this week, she released a new song on the Internet, “Bow Down/I Been On,” and since then, every major site I frequent, from trashy blogs to high brow news, is talking about her and her new song. Is it disrespectful to fans? Just fun? Hypocritical? The jury is still out. Rush Limbaugh, single-handedly the last person I expected to weigh in on these matters , interpreted the song, in which Beyoncé instructs “b***hes” to “bow down,” to mean Beyoncé has turned in her feminist card. “(Her older) songs were attempts to inspire young women not to take any grief from men,” Limbaugh said. “She’s done a 180… Because she married a rich guy . . . she now understands it’s worth it to bow down.” Admittedly, the lyrics could have many interpretations. I am positive this is not one of them. Singer Keyshia Cole also weighed in, not so unexpectedly as she’s been on a Twitter rampage lately. (She blasted former Destiny’s Child Michelle Williams after her DC reunion performance at the Super Bowl.) “First ‘Women need to stick together’ now [b***hes] better Bow. Smh,” Cole tweeted on Monday. “Can’t stand when people [are] all self-righteous when it’s convenient… but can still talk s–t when convenient [too].” Given Cole’s most recent salty behavior on social media, her opinion didn’t carry the weight it should have. The thing is, Cole’s got a point. Beyoncé has built her entire career on feel-good sisterhood lyrics — from “Independent Women” to “Who Run This World” — set to infectious beats. Her songs became the unofficial soundtrack to Middle America’s Girl’s Night Out where women celebrated whatever the occasion is in “freek’um dresses,” patting their weaves and mimicking the dance routine from the “Single Ladies” video at the club. In interview after interview, Beyoncé has extolled the virtues of having female friends. She even hired an all-girl band to drive home her all-girl-power-everything message. And this is why it seems so… jarring, really, for Beyoncé, after 15 years in the game, to start calling fellow women “b***hes” and demanding that they “bow down” like they are her lowly subjects. Discuss…

Beyonce Tries to Sex it Up For H&M of the Day

I don’t understand what insanity was put into Beyonce’s brain after she gave birth to what may be a future drug overdose thanks to horrible parents and a lot of disposable income, but whatever it was, it’s bad. She thinks, for some reason, that she has the body to pose half naked, and sex it up, on stage and in life, like she was Rihanna. I assume it stems from Jealousy, that comes with Rihanna giving Jay Z more than Beyonce ever will. You know, old fat hag trying to keep up with the young girls who make her husband millions a year, but far more pathetic than when you see a competitive mom in Lululemons with her daughter shopping, because she wants some of that mail attention the daughter is getting too, because it’s on a bigger, more public scale. I mean bitch, just fucking retire and disappear. We don’t need your fat ass around these parts.

Rush Limbaugh Slams Beyonce, "Bow Down" Message

Keyshia Cole has some unexpected, anti-Beyonce company. Rush Limbaugh is going off on the star and her controversial single “Bow Down / I Been On.” The conservative talk-radio host ripped Jay-Z’s wife for what he deemed a “180” in the image department and abandoning her feminist credibility. Rush Limbaugh Beyonce Rant “[Destiny’s Child] songs were attempts to inspire young women not to take any grief from men. She’s done a 180,” said Limbaugh of the music superstar. “Beyonce, now having been married, having been impregnated and giving birth to Blue Ivy,” Rush added. “She’s got a new song, ‘Bow, Down Bitches.'” “Beyonce is now saying, ‘Go ahead and put up with it!'” “You know why? I’ll tell you why. Because she married a rich guy. She’s even calling herself Mrs. Carter on the tour… She has shelved Beyonce.” “She now understands it’s worth it to bow down.” Limbaugh also cited an editorial in U.K.’s The Telegraph by a woman angered by B’s allegedly new direction away from the “Independent Women” champion. Rush, of course, may not have listened to the song that closely and may be taking her lyrics partially (if not entirely) out of context … big shocker. Beyonce – “Bow Down/I Been On” A more likely interpretation of ” Bow Down “‘ is it’s a tough message aimed at any upstart singers hoping to challenge her place on the pop throne. In fact, when the singer does mention Jay-Z, she does so in the following way: “I took some time to live my life, but don’t think I’m just his little wife.” Moreover, naming her tour The Mrs. Carter Show was more a playful nod to her role as Hov’s other half than a real command for women to be subservient. Rush isn’t the only one to react in such fashion, however. R&B star Keyshia Cole, as we previously reported, also slammed the new track from Knowles. “First ‘Women need to Stick together’ now bitches better Bow. Smh. But it’s all G! Chicks stay shooting the s–t. But when I speak my mind it’s a prob,” she wrote. What do you think? Do you agree with Rush and Keyshia? Or is Beyonce being misinterpreted by people who just want to knock her down a peg?

Rewind The Track? Rush Limbaugh Says Beysus’ New Song Is Anti-Feminist “She Understands It’s Worth It To Bow Down To Men”

Here this fool goes. SMH. It seems that everyone has an opinion on Bey’s new song “Bow Down” including the a$$hole better known as Rush Limbaugh. Via NYDailyNews reports : Rush Limbaugh is giving Beyoncé’s new single two thumbs down in the feminism department. The talk show host, 62, spent part of his show on Wednesday criticizing the pop singer for pulling a “total 180″ with her new single “Bow Down/I Been On.” Citing a story in The Telegraph , Limbaugh claimed that, rather than extolling women’s independence in her song, Beyoncé is encouraging women to be subservient to their spouses. “Bow Down,” according to Limbaugh, advises women to “put up with it.” “She married the rich guy,” Limbaugh continued. “She now understands it’s worth it to bow down to men.” “She’s going to call herself Mrs. Carter on the Bow Down B——s tour,” Limbaugh added. Beyoncé, who has gone on record as a feminist in the past, might not agree with Limbaugh’s interpretation of her single. “I love being a woman and I love being a friend to other women,” the superstar said in an interview with The Daily Mail in 2010. “I think we learn a lot from our female friends — female friendship is very, very important.” We’re pretty sure Rush Limbaugh didn’t even listen to this song. He just likes to run his mouth. WENN
