Vick Does Not have a Deal with NIKE

Despite reports of it saying it was a done deal, Mike Vick does NOT have a new deal with NIKE : A day after an official with the agency that represents Michael Vick told a crowded conference in New York City that Vick had recently re-signed with Nike [NKE 62.50 -2.20 (-3.4%) ], a Nike spokesman told CNBC that the company has no agreement with the backup Philadelphia Eagles quarterback. “Nike does not have a contractual relationship with Michael Vick,” Nike spokesman Kejuan Wilkins said, in a statement.

NFL says Michael Vick eligible to play in 3rd game

After missing two seasons and serving an 18-month prison term, sitting out two regular-season games can’t be too difficult for Michael Vick. Vick got the green light for full reinstatement by Roger Goodell on Thursday, when the NFL commissioner said the disgraced quarterback could play later this month instead of waiting until October.

Tressel lauds Pryor’s compassion

Ohio State coach Jim Tressel said Tuesday that quarterback Terrelle Pryor included a tribute to Michael Vick on his face during the Buckeyes’ opener because “there’s probably not a more compassionate human being in the world than Terrelle.” In Saturday’s 31-27 win over Navy, Pryor had lettering on his eyeblack patches in honor of his sister and also Vick. After the game, Pryor said he loved Vick and didn’t think the NFL quarterback was getting a fair shake from people critical of his role in bankrolling a dogfighting ring.
