Friday Box Office: Good Night

Score one for the traditionalists! Maybe. If Date Night (a better than expected $9.5 million on Friday) can hold off Clash of the Titans ($7.8 million) for the remainder of the weekend it will become only the fourth non-3D film released this year to lead the box office. And they said two dimensions were dead. Elsewhere: don’t look now, but the assumed disappointment that was How to Train Your Dragon experienced a scant 19% drop from Friday-to-Friday and has slowly become one of the biggest hits in 2010. Dreamworks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg is writing that “Suck it, Pixar!” e-mail right about now. The top-five after the jump.

What the heck is Bodyflight? It's an indoor skydiving sport! Competitors test their flying and diving skills in a vertical indoor wind tunnel which simulates the free fall experience of skydiving. The Bodyflight World Challenge took place in Bedford, UK on Sunday, April 4. Winners include the top French skydiving team France Aerodyne Cypres Maubeuge and the British team 'Bodyflight'. The Verge: Nash and Joel Edgerton

Watch out, Chris and Liam Hemsworth: there’s another pair of Australian brothers on the rise. Nash and Joel Edgerton have a long background in entertainment — 35-year-old Joel acted in the Star Wars prequels as Owen Lars and starred in the recent Sundance hit Animal Kingdom , while 37-year-old Nash has done stunt work for some of the biggest blockbusters ever made — but with their new film The Square , they’re poised to break out Stateside. Nash directed the neo-noir, which finds a hapless adulterer scheming with an arsonist (played by Joel, who also wrote the screenplay) to pull off a con on his mistress’s husband. This being a crime drama, things do not go as planned. The brothers rang up Movieline today to discuss their collaboration, and they also dished on a ton of upcoming projects they’re involved with, including Sofia Coppola’s Somewhere , the Nick Nolte/Tom Hardy fighting drama Warrior , and Universal’s upcoming prequel to The Thing .

NIT Championship 2010

Despite of earning he seat in the final four, the Connecticut Huskies are still not satisfied with their performance. But its opponents did not agree because they are able to defeat it in the last 76 clashes. It was Maya Moore’s stellar performance that made Huskies beat Florida State 90-50 to reach the semifinals. The one that happened shows that the team is really aiming to win. The Huskies won its last match with a 40-point victory. Opinions from basketball experts includes that the team actually set sort of history because it was the biggest event ever in a regional final. Facebook "gives you the clap – 400% increase"

The sharp rise in syphilis cases in Teesside has been partially attributed to social networking sites which incautious locals are trawling in search of casual sex. According to the local Evening Gazette, the number of reported cases jumped to 30 last year, up from less than 10 in 2008. Professor Peter Kelly, executive director of public health for NHS Tees, said that “reports from doctors and nurses diagnosing and treating patients suggest some sufferers are using social networking sites to find and arrange meetings with new lovers”. He added: “Unprotected sex, especially with casual partners, is the biggest risk for syphilis. Social networking sites are making it easier for people to meet up for casual sex.
