Delta to Parents: Get Off This Flight… or We’ll Take Your Kids!

At this rate, the airline industry may soon be less popular than Congress. We're barely even kidding. By now, most of the free world is aware that United Airlines dragged a customer named David Dao often a flight earlier this month because he refused to give up the seat he had paid for. This incident was followed by Delta Airlines tossing a man off a plane because he dared to use the bathroom while the jet was still on the ground. Now, seemingly in an attempt to top its own ridiculousness, Delta has done the following… On April 23, Brian and Brittany Shear say they were on board a flight from Hawaii to California along with their two-year old son. Brian explained to a flight attendant that he originally bought the seat next to him for his 18-year-old son… but decided to put him on an earlier flight so that he could use that same seat for his younger child, Grayson, who was in a car seat. However, the airline said it had overbooked the flight and it needed the seat Mason was now occupying; it argued that it had a right to it because Mason’s name was NOT the name on the ticket that was purchased. It's a bit complicated. But the bottom line is that an airline once again overbooked a flight and, in this case, was telling the parents of a young child that they had to get off as a result. “You’re saying you’re gonna give that away to someone else when I paid for that seat?” Brian tells the airline employee in the video below. “That’s not right.” An airplane employee then says that under Federal Aviation Administration regulations, two-year-old kids cannot have their own seat and must fly while seated in their parents’ laps for the flight. (This is not accurate; the websites for both the FAA and Delta encourage parents to buy separate seats for young children and use a child safety restraint system.) Fine, then: Brian agreed to hold Grayson in his lap. /But he was still told to exit the plane – or face the consequences. According to Brian, an employee said the following to them during this exchange: “You have to give up the seat or you’re going to jail, your wife is going to jail and they’ll take your kids from you.” What a lovely policy. Giant Playboy Bunny Found Dead on United Flight

United Airlines is under investigation for the mysterious death of an especially large rabbit. Yes, you read that sentence correctly. Just a few weeks removed from the enormous public relations disaster of calling on the cops to drag away a customer who refused to leave his seat on an overbooked flight, the company is now under investigation again. This time, over the passing of an animal named Simon. Simon was a 10-month-old, three-foot long Continental Giant rabbit who was being transported in the cargo hold of a Boeing 767 while traveling from his breeder’s home in Great Britain to O’Hare International Airport in Chicago. He was on his way to The Windy City to go to live with a new owner. However, when a United handler went to fetch Simon upon landing, the animal – whose 4’3″ father actually holds the Guinness World Record for longest rabbit – was unresponsive.  He was dead. It was expected that Simon would outgrow his famous parent and eventually be crowned the new Longest Rabbit on the Planet. He had been sold to Bryan Bergdale, a farmland investment manager, who says he purchased the rabbit for his boss, Steve Bruere, who hoped to show it at the Iowa State Fair. “We’d built a pen and had toys all ready. It’s sort of a sad deal,” Bergdale told reporters. “We’re still in the mourning process. We’re not quite sure what we’re going to do.” Bergdale added that he paid $530 for the rabbit, along with $1,800 in shipping costs. According to Annette Edwards, a former Playboy model who lives and breeds these large animals in Worcestershire, Simon had been labeled fit to fly, with vets declaring him “in good physical condition” the day his plane took to the air. “Simon had a vet’s check-up three hours before the flight and was fit as a fiddle,” Edwards told U.K.’s The Sun newspaper yesterday, adding in confusion and anger: “Something very strange has happened and I want to know what. I’ve sent rabbits all around the world and nothing like this has happened before.” Across the globe, airlines require rabbits and most other caged pets to travel in a plane’s cargo holds. Here, the air pressure and temperature are supposed to be the same as they are in the cabin. Many companies also demand animals arrive with letters from a vet or certificates assuring they are healthy to travel. It’s unclear at this time whether or not Edwards provided documents of this nature. As previously cited, this is an especially bad time for United to be at the center of another scandal. It will likely shell out millions to Dr. David Dao for his horrendous mistreatment on board an oversold flight earlier this month. The passenger, who was sitting in a seat he purchased fairly and legally, was ordered to disembark so that United could fit four employees on board his plane. When Dao refused, he was physically yanked off board against his will, resulting in a concussion and multiple broken bones. And now USA Today reports that more than one-third of all 136 animals who died on passenger flights during the last five years passed away on United planes. What gives?!? That’s what PETA wants to know. “This rabbit was failed first by the breeder – who churns out and sells baby bunnies when animal shelters and rescue groups are full of homeless rabbits – and then by United Airlines, which shipped him off in a cargo hold like an old suitcase,” PETA President Ingrid Newkirk said in a statement to E! News. View Slideshow: #NewUnitedAirlinesMottos Take Over Internet: Choose a Favorite! “This rabbit’s death is not unique – more than 300 animals have died in cargo holds since 2005, and many more have been injured or lost. “PETA urges United to join JetBlue and Southwest in prohibiting companion animals from being flown as checked baggage in the confusion, noise, extreme temperatures, and improper pressurization of a cargo hold.” United is yet to commit to a change in its policy. But a spokesman has issued the following statement in the wake of this tragedy: “The safety and well-being of all the animals that travel with us is of the utmost importance to United Airlines and our PetSafe team. “We have been in contact with our customer and have offered assistance. We are reviewing this matter.” May Simon rest in peace. View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2017: In Memoriam

Not Trump’s America: Passengers Cheer As Racist Man Is Booted From United Flight [VIDEO]

Passengers Aboard United Flight Cheer As Racist Man Is Removed, Proving America Is Great This story is a great one. This weekend passengers aboard United flight 1118 from Chicago to Houston were recorded cheering as a racist man was asked to gather his things and leave. According to KHOU reports , the man was overheard twice asking a Pakistani couple in traditional dress whether their bags were carrying bombs. Several passengers complained to flight attendants and it wasn’t long before the man and the young woman traveling with him were asked to gather their things and get off the flight. As you can see from the video the racist man continued to spew hatred as he left the plane. Passengers yelled back “This is not Trump’s America!” and “Goodbye racist!” Another passenger reported that the same man had harassed her and her boyfriend, who is of Indian descent: “The person ahead us turned around and asked where my boyfriend was from; my boyfriend said it’s none of your business,” she said. “At that point he said all illegals and all foreigners and need to leave the country.” Damn shame that having a bigot for a President has given so many other hateful people grounds to believe they can spew hatred and bully and intimidate strangers wherever they go. Kudos for United Airlines — we may have to start flying y’all more often.

Yuck On Yuck: Vomit-Filled Bag Left On Flight Spills All Over California Couple Returning From Hawaii

Vomit-Filled Bag Left On Flight Spills All Over California Couple A California couple returning from a romantic anniversary trip in Hawaii came across a disgusting surprise after taking their seats on the plane ride back… Via HuffPo : On a United Airlines flight home from an anniversary trip with her husband, Janet Masters discovered a vomit-filled motion sickness bag that had been wrapped in a blanket and stuffed in the seat back pocket. “I’ve seen and dealt with a lot of gross things,” Masters told CBS Sacramento. “Here’s someone’s bodily fluids that I’m being exposed to.” To make matters worse, when Masters attempted to hand the repulsive package off to a flight attendant, vomit reportedly spilled onto her and her husband. And despite a seat change, the smell stuck with them for the duration of the flight. “Smelling that smell on us and around us was just totally, totally disgusting,” Masters said. A United Airlines representative apologized to the couple, saying “our cleaners apparently failed to clean all of the seatback pockets.” The airline assured the couple that its aircraft are outfitted with appropriate cleaning kits, and gave them a $300 credit toward a future United flight. But that may not be enough to get the Masters’ on another United plane. “I’ve lost a lot of faith and trust with the airline,” Masters said. Yuck on yuck on YUCK!!! Getty

Remember These Ain’t Isht Individuals??? Couple Popped After Stealing Luggage From Asiana Flight Crash Finally Get Jail Time

Couple Who Stole Asiana Flight Crash Luggage Get Jail Time Remember these two rascals??? Via NY Daily News: A married couple working for United Airlines have been given jail sentences of less than a year for stealing luggage from San Francisco International Airport during the chaos of last year’s Asiana Airlines crash. Surveillance footage shows Sean Sharif Crudup, 44, walking into an empty luggage office July 6, 2013, as emergency crews and staff were distracted by the wrecked aircraft that killed three. He steals a piece of unattended luggage and hands it over to his wife, Raychas Elizabeth Thomas, 32, the video shows. The pair – both customer service representatives with the airline – escaped the airport with the stolen goods and later tried to sell the clothing back to the Nordstrom department store where the victims had recently bought the items. The victims didn’t immediately realize their luggage was missing. The couple pleaded no contest to charges of grand theft and possessing stolen property and were sentenced to jail — nine months for Crudup and six months for Thomas. They both also received three years of probation and were ordered to pay about $6,000 in restitution to Nordstrom, reported the Los Angeles Times. The husband and wife were arrested July 25 at the airport before they could board a flight to Hawaii to celebrate their birthdays. The San Francisco Gate reports Thomas will surrender into custody in August and Crudup, in December. SMH. Good…hopefully these two buttholes have learned their lesson!! San Mateo County Sheriff

Woman Sues United Airlines for Allowing Passenger to Masturbate on Flight

A young woman named Monica Amestoy has filed a lawsuit against United Airlines in which she alleges that a male passenger was permitted to masturbate right in front of her on a flight last year. The incident took place when the now-18-year old was flying back to Los Angeles from a high school debate in New York. During a press conference last night, Amestoy explained that the guy was sitting across from her when he pulled out his unit and that flight attendants – alerted to the self-pleasuring situation – did nothing to stop it. The unidentified passenger has been arrested and convicted of the crime, and has also since been registered as a sex offender. But Amestoy (who is represented by Gloria Allred ) is seeking unspecified damages for negligence, false imprisonment and intentional infliction of emotional distress.
