Unfortunately, people like 26-year-old Dovie Nickels might have a difficult time understanding that. According to NYPost , police in Austin, Texas arrested Nickels for indecent exposure, what was she indecently exposing? Allow us to tell you… Police responded to a complaint from the JW Marriott Austin Hotel about 5:20 p.m. Tuesday about a woman across the street “holding a silver object” against her privates “with her legs straight up in the air, spread open,” according to the arrest affidavit. The hotel employee added that he could hear the woman “making moaning noises”. When he approached her to tell her to stop, she went to a bar next door where she continued her masturbatory mission. When police arrived at the bar where Nickels was double-clicking her mouse, she tried to play it off by putting her hands on the table, but officers noticed that she wasn’t wearing any pants. Even after being arrested Nickels reportedly continued to masturbate in the back of the cop car. At what point do you decide that getting a nut just isn’t worth it? SMH.

Now, plans to go on rent strike are swiftly approaching, according to New York Daily News. Many NYCHA residents are spending their time at home in freezing temperatures as a polar vortex makes it’s way across the U.S. “It’s a disaster,” said 76-year-old Bertha Spivey, a resident of NYCHA’s Soundview Houses in the Bronx. “You can’t take showers or do dishes. We have no heat or hot water. If one goes, both go. It happens every winter for last four years.” Spivey’s neighbor Rachel Jean, 40, said she had to boil water to make it hot and bring some heat into her apartment. “We’re bathing with it,” Jean said. “When the water does come on it’s brown and then it shuts off. I have six kids. We’re just waiting for them to do something.” Tenants at the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City are tired of waiting for the government to do something. Certain residents have already started laying the groundwork for a major rent strike, which could force NYCHA to make long-neglected repairs. Almost 70 people assembled at the Queensbridge complex on Monday where they received advice from housing advocates and lawyers. Back in 2013, tenants of NYCHA’s Lexington Houses in East Harlem threatened the city with a rent strike after having no gas for more than two weeks. NYCHA made the repairs 24 hours later. “I’m 100% behind a rent strike,” said Brooklyn City Councilman Rafael Espinal Jr. , a candidate for public advocate, who showed up at the rent strike strategy session. “If you’re not getting adequate service you have every right to withhold your rent until the work is done.” A NYCHA spokesman said repair crews arrived at various sites on Wednesday to restore heat. The agency also activated its situation room in Long Island City, Queens to prepare for dangerously low temperatures. Meanwhile, City Hall is trying to convince federal housing officials and a federal judge that NYC is capable of running its own housing system without any takeover from the Trump administration. Last fall, U.S. District Judge William Pauley rejected a settlement between the city and the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD), saying the federal government was neglecting its responsibilities to NYCHA. Both sides have since been discussing ways to address the various issues NYCHA residents face, including heating problems, mold and dangerous levels of lead. HUD secretary Ben Carson is set to appear in New York on Thursday to make a “huge & historic announcement that will be great news for the residents of @NYCHA,” according to a tweet from Lynne Patton, the head of HUD’s federal housing programs in New Jersey and New York. We’ll find out if they make impactful moves. Or else… They better gear up for that strike.

Source: Sacramento Bee / Getty Stephon Clark’s Family Files Federal Lawsuit Stephon Clark was gunned down in his grandmother’s backyard by two Sacramento police officers who failed to identify themselves and failed to seek medical attention for him according to a new federal lawsuit filed by Stephon’s family. According to CNN , the Clarks, like so many Black families across America, are looking for some level of accountability from police officers who wanton kill, dare we say murder, unarmed Black people. The lawsuit not only alleges that the unidentified officers used excessive force when they fired 20 shots without a single warning, but also that Stephon was racially profiled. Of the twenty shots fired, seven of them hit Stephon, three of those in his back according to the Clark family’s forensic pathologist. “When the facts are fully disclosed, we are confident that a jury will deliver justice that reflects how grossly the police land city officials failed Stephon, his family and the people of Sacramento,” Brian Panish an attorney for Clark’s children said in a statement. What does the city have to say about this? “Out of deference to the judicial process and because this is a matter of active litigation, we must respectfully decline to comment,” City Attorney Susana Alcala Wood said in a statement. Of course. SMH. We hope the Clark family can get some form of justice out of this murderous abuse of power.

Emmanuel Franklin, 19, of Sumter was arrested and charged with blackmail. Franklin’s mother told authorities that she received a call from her son and an unknown man from a private number earlier that week telling her that her son would be killed by kidnappers if she did not put $130 money into a mail box at a nearby address. Franklin reportedly later told officers he made up the story to get $130 from his mother, so police officers eventually arrested Emmanuel Franklin for an extortion charge.

Over the weekend, the rapper announced that he has acquired a recently-closed location of the burger chain Bud’s Broiler, which he will be rebranding and relaunching with his own fixings. “The Ink dry is dry so now I can talk about it,” Curren$y wrote in the caption of his Instagram post on Saturday while posing in front of the restaurant. “For years me and my loved ones have pulled up to this historic location near City Park to enjoy a tasty burger… recently the place went up for sale…. I was considering purchasing a dawn and a Bentley…. instead I bought a business….. now it’s time to remodel and rebrand… #lifeburgerNola coming soon… @mousa504 we gotta bust another move cuz I still want the Bentley and the dawn tho haha” According to a report published by NOLA.com , a court order forced the former restaurant to close in December after a legal dispute over the franchise agreement between the location’s then-owner and the burger chain’s parent company. Fast forward to current day: the name Life Burger LLC was registered on Friday, January 25 by Mousa Hamdan—Curren$y’s longtime manager and business partner. According to the report, Spitta plans to both remodel and rebrand the building quickly, with Hamdan adding that a meeting this week will determine the actual opening date for the new digs. This brand new business venture is a great start to the rapper’s 2019, who had some pretty notable experiences back in 2018, too. The biggest news last year was Curren$y welcoming his first child with his girlfriend back in November. Career-wise, he also released various projects including Fetti , his long-anticipated collab album with Freddie Gibbs.
