This Band’s Carnival Costumes Will Make You Want To Jump & Wine

META Drops Get Ups For Crop Over One Bajan Carnival band has got the look when it comes to celebrating the annual Crop Over celebration later this summer. The META Band debuted its costumes for Crop Over in Barbados this summer. The looks include a Dead President-esque costume with black feathers, a matching fishnet top and a black beret. For the men, a feathered headdress with matching Bermuda shorts and a dream catcher like necklace fit the bill. The carnival group’s theme is the rising of the phoenix in human form, and their costumes were created to reflect that vision, conceptualized by the band’s leader, Pretty Boy Records CEO Trevor Pretty. The band will be in full costume as they “jump up” through the streets of Barbados’ capital city, Bridgetown, during the Carnival’s “Grand Kadooment Parade” Aug. 7. Crop Over is a days-long annual Bajan that features parades, parties, dinners and other fetes and runs the first week of August. If you’re interested in attending, visit their website. Barak Obama Visits Prince Harry, Offers Kind Words To Manchester Victims Former President, Barak Obama visited Prince Harry over the weekend at Kensington Palace. CNN reports Obama had been visiting Scotland, where he golfed, then Berlin before dropping in on The British Royal. In Berlin, he delivered a message to Manchester, where tragedy recently struck at an Ariana Grande concert, alongside German Chancellor Angela Merkel and Archbishop of Canterbury Justin Welby. “As the father of two daughters, I am heartbroken by the extraordinary tragedy that has occurred in Manchester, o all the families who have been affected, to all those who are still recovering, to those who have lost loved ones, it’s unimaginable to think about the cruelty and the violence that the city of Manchester has suffered.’ At Kensington, Barack reiterated his condolences to the people of Manchester and Prince Harry. The also talked about their shared support for veterans and mental health.

So Sad: Family Pit Bull Injures Unattended Newborn In Bouncer To Death

Jesus take the wheel… “Family” Pit Bull Bites Newborn Baby’s Head, Killing Her A three week old baby has died from injuries she suffered from one of three of her families pit bull dogs according to a Yahoo News report . Susannah Jean Murray was left alone in her bounce for only a few minutes when one of the dogs started attacking her. All three pitbulls were alone with her in the room when “an adult” walked away from her according to the report. Police say the newborn suffered a bite to the skull that ultimately killed her. It was one of the dogs who was found with blood in its mouth who Michigan authorities say is responsible for the incident. The baby girl was was taken to a nearby hospital for surgery but it was too late. No one had been arrested in connection with the baby’s death.  Getty Images

A Little Positivity: Richard Sherman Pays Honor Roll Student’s College Tuition In Full

Ain’t he nice? NFL Baller Richard Sherman Funds High School Girl’s College NFL star Richard Sherman made a promise to a Virginia High school student. He said that if she picked up her grades, he would fund her entire college education. This weekend, he followed through. According to Richmond.com , Varina High School Senior Harshai James met Sherman at a “Celebrity Waiter” dinner last year where in their quick conversation he mentioned that if she picked up her grades, he would fund her college. The event took place to support the “Excel To Excellence” foundation, which was started by Sherman’s teammate who also attended Varina High School, Michael Robinson. This year, Hershai made honor roll and got her tuition covered by the athlete. All parties have kept to amount she’s received a secret. James plans on attending Norfolk University. Good luck grad! SMH: Jury Explains Why They Acquitted Officer Betty Shelby In The Shooting Death Of Terence Crutcher

Save it… Jury Explains Acquitting Officer Betty Shelby The jury of 12 who acquitted Betty Shelby in the shooting death of Terence Crutcher is explaining their actions. As previously reported the Tulsa officer got off for killing Crutcher in September 2016 while his hands were up and he walked away because she “feared for her life.” According to KFOR.com the jury consisting of nine whites and three blacks has released a letter explaining the acquittal. Speaking via the jury foreman, the jurors said there was “no evidence the officer acted outside her training.” Furthermore, the jurors did not believe race was a factor. “The jury concluded that any officer put in that situation at that exact moment and regardless of the skin color, gender or size of the suspect, would have performed the same way, which is in accordance with their law enforcement training,” wrote the foreman. The foreman also noted that some jurors wondered why Shelby didn’t use her taser to subdue Crutcher but ultimately decided that she followed her “extensive training.” Really? “Some jurors “could never get comfortable” with saying Shelby was blameless in the death because it appeared she could have used a Taser in the moments before Crutcher reached into the vehicle, the letter said. “However, there was no evidence presented that her extensive training allowed such an option,” the letter said. “The jury could not, beyond a reasonable doubt, conclude that she did anything outside of her duties and training as a police officer in that situation.” SMH…are you even surprised that the jurors sided with Betty Shelby???
