Rumor control… Serena Confirms Whether Or Not She’s Expecting A Baby Girl After her sister gave an interview seemingly revealing her unborn baby’s sex, Serena Williams is responding. Earlier this week her sister Venus progressed to the second round at the French Open and was asked in a post-game interview what she wanted her sister’s baby to call her. “She’s going to call me ‘favorite aunt,’” said Venus to Eurosport before adding that she and her other sisters all want the baby named after them. The statement’s since gone viral and folks are adamant that Venus broke the news of the baby’s sex before Serena had a chance to. According to Serena however, Venus’ “flub “was just a joke considering that around the Williams household they all joke about the baby being a girl. She’s also adamant that neither her nor her fiance Alexis Ohanian know the sex of the child. “I think the surprise of knowing what you are going to have on that very special day you give birth is the best surprise you can ever have!” said Serena. Rich Homie Quan Hit With Felony Drug Charges Rich Homie Quan is in a bad situation after getting arrested over the weekend, facing charges that could get him put away for a VERY long time. TMZ reports that the Atlanta rapper got booked on charges of felony possession with intent to distribute when cops caught him and five friends with drugs and guns over the weekend. It’s not clear how much weed Quan had on him, but that’s actually neither here nor there in Georgia, where the amount of contraband you have on you doesn’t determine whether or not you’re charged with a felony. For all any of us know, it may have been a small enough amount that it was meant for personal use. Either way, guns were also retrieved, but officers didn’t place that charge on Rich Homie Quan . His bail was set at $20,000. However, if he faces trial and gets a conviction, he could face a maximum of 30 years in prison for the drug charge. SMH! Honestly, you’d think he learned his lesson on the weed front after all the backlash from him smoking a blunt with his baby on his lap a few years back. Jeronimo Yanez Goes On Trial For Philando Castile Shooting The trial for the officer who killed Philando Castile in July 2016 is beginning. As previously reported Minnesota Officer Jeronimo Yanez is facing a second-degree manslaughter charge and two charges of dangerous discharge of a firearm for endangering Castile’s girlfriend Diamond Reynolds and their child. According to The New York Daily News , jury selection starts Tuesday and is expected to last several days. Yanez is expected to testify that he was defending himself as he shot Castile while he reached for his I.D. Vili Fulaau Files For Separation From Mary Kay Letourneau The teacher/student sex scandal that rocked the 90’s has come full circle now, as the marriage between Mary Kay Letourneau and Vili Fulaau has wound up in a split. People reports that Fualaau filed for separation after months of trouble between the couple. Letourneau made headlines back in 1996 when it was discovered that the ten 34-year-old teacher had lured her 6th grade student Fulaau into a sexual relationship, even once defying a court order to stay away from him just to sleep with him again. She ended up pleading guilty to child rape and serving 7 years in prison, only to get out, marry him, and have 2 children with him. At first glance it seems only natural that Vili would be ready to split — he’s 33 now, and their relationship began when he was only 12 — but as Vili shared with RadarOnline , the REAL reason for their split has nothing to do with their relationship romance: “It’s not necessarily what you think. Everything is fine between us. All the rumors that you hear between us. It’s fine. Of course [we are still in love]. A piece of paper doesn’t break someone’s feelings!” Instead, he says he’s splitting from Mary Kay — on paper anyway — to get his legal marijuana business off the ground. And seeing as how his wife served 7 years in prison for smashing him before he even fully hit puberty…her record isn’t the cleanest. “When you want to get licensed, they do background checks on both parties. French Mayor Threatens To “Stop” Black Feminists Festival For Excluding Non-Black People Organizers of an event called Nyansapo Festival in France intended for Black feminist s caught a lot of grief from Anne Hidalgo, the mayor of Paris this week. The mayor threatened to halt the festival for it’s lack of permission for ‘all’ to engage in certain parts of the event, according to France 24 . The event organizers say it is important to restrict access to certain sessions so that black women can engage in open, honest conversations about their unique struggles, without judgement from others, according to the report. The non-black mayor did not like that, at all. The Nyansapo festival has divided its events into four categories– those open exclusively to black women (which account for 80% of activities), those open to both black women and black men, those open to women of colour and those open to everyone. The majority of events are reserved for black female participants. An outcry of white tears commenced on twitter, where people openly condemned the event. Even a French ‘race’ organization called LICRA says Rosa Park would’ve had a fit if she saw the ‘discriminatory’ festival guidelines. Later in the day, Hidalgo tweeted that she had found a “solution” to the problem. The festival organized in a public space will be open to everyone. Workshops with restricted participation will be held on a strictly private basis. But, the gag is…that was the plan for the organizers all along.
