Armed Black Army Veteran Gunned Down By Police In His Home via Breaking Brown An Oklahoma man was gunned down by police after he called 911 to report a crime. Daniel Martin Jr., 41, called police to report vandals in his driveway, but when police arrived, they fatally shot Martin, reports News Oklahoma. “They’re still at my front door,” the decorated Army veteran told a 911 dispatcher. He also advised the dispatcher that he was holding a gun just in case the vandals broke into his home. “I’m inside with my weapon,” he said. Still, when Martin opened his door, someone yelled “gun!” and police officers Elijah Garcia and Anthony Edwards opened fire on Martin. Drugs were found in Martin’s system and police say he was hallucinating and had also fired a shot into a closet, convinced that someone was hiding inside. Police also say a gun was fired from inside the home as they approached, although it is not clear why the shot was fired. Tina Martin said her husband suffered from post traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) and “had been struggling with it for some time.” Anti-depressants were also found in his system. He served in the Army from 1998 to 2004. The police have been cleared of any wrongdoing.

Damn homie…if it ain’t one thing it’s the next. Rob Ford Diagnosed With Cancer Known in The States primarily for his crack-rock antics , Mayor Rob Ford has hit yet another rough patch in his health. Fresh out of a stint in rehab , instead of struggling with addiction, this time around he’s grappling with cancer. Via The Sun News Network : Mayor Rob Ford is now facing the fight of his life with a rare form of cancer. Dr. Zane Cohen, the head of Ford’s clinical care team, revealed the grim diagnosis of pleomorphic liposarcoma on Wednesday at Mount Sinai Hospital. The cancer news came just days after Ford bowed out of the mayor’s race and less than three months after he returned from rehab for alcohol and drugs, vowing to turn his life around. With Ford’s permission, Cohen confirmed that the 12-cm by 12-cm abdominal tumour discovered last week is a malignant liposarcoma. Doctors have also found a small nodule that is part of the same tumour on his buttock behind his left hip. “We think it is a fairly aggressive tumour mainly because these types of tumours are often slow-growing, to get to the size that it is now it is often several years,” Cohen told reporters. “But we are treating this very aggressively in order to eradicate the tumour.” There was no sign of the tumour in 2011 when Ford underwent medical tests, he added. Cohen said the soft-tissue cancer is not within an organ, and described it as a “very rare tumour” and “very difficult.” Terrible news! Hopefully he’ll be able to recover from this and FINALLY get his life together.

Breezy’s boo Karrueche, rapper Pusha T, actor and comedian Kevin Hart, stand-up comedian and actor DeRay Davis, actor and producer Damien Wayans and star of Love & Hip-Hop Hollywood Hazel E all came out to support and joined the celebration. Baltimore Police Officer Falsifies Report To Justify Attack On Citizen Imagine how this case could have gone without surveillance! Via ABCnews : A South Baltimore man Monday filed charges against a Baltimore police officer for what attorneys are calling a clear case of police brutality, captured on a police surveillance camera. Kollin Truss, the defendant, was arrested on June 15 after an altercation with a city police officer. Truss, 32, was charged with assaulting Officer Vincent Cosom and Stephanie Coleman, identified in court records as Truss’ then-girlfriend. Cosom noted in his police report that Truss was loitering outside of a liquor store in the 500 block of E. North Ave. at about 1:40 a.m. Cosom wrote that he asked Truss to leave. Truss then walked into the store and shouted an obscenity and a threat at the police officer, according to Cosom’s account of the incident. Truss and Coleman left the liquor store and started walking across the street to a bus stop. Cosom said he observed Truss push her three times, according to the report. “When they got to the corner of Greenmount and North Ave they began to argue again drawing a large crowd around them,” Cosom wrote. “While I was crossing the street at 500 E North Ave. to stop [the] argument I observed the unknown black male pushed [sic] the female with open hands three times. “At this time I went to place the male under arrest he got into a fighting stance and clenched his first. Me and the male got into a physical altercation due to me [sic] in fear for my safety and I received a punch to the body,” Cosom continued in the report, transcribed verbatim. Truss was arrested, although his assault and resisting arrest charges were later dropped.
