Police Brutality: Baltimore Cop Sucker-Punches Man, Falsifies Charges [VIDEO]

Baltimore Police Officer Falsifies Report To Justify Attack On Citizen Imagine how this case could have gone without surveillance! Via ABCnews : A South Baltimore man Monday filed charges against a Baltimore police officer for what attorneys are calling a clear case of police brutality, captured on a police surveillance camera. Kollin Truss, the defendant, was arrested on June 15 after an altercation with a city police officer. Truss, 32, was charged with assaulting Officer Vincent Cosom and Stephanie Coleman, identified in court records as Truss’ then-girlfriend. Cosom noted in his police report that Truss was loitering outside of a liquor store in the 500 block of E. North Ave. at about 1:40 a.m. Cosom wrote that he asked Truss to leave. Truss then walked into the store and shouted an obscenity and a threat at the police officer, according to Cosom’s account of the incident. Truss and Coleman left the liquor store and started walking across the street to a bus stop. Cosom said he observed Truss push her three times, according to the report. “When they got to the corner of Greenmount and North Ave they began to argue again drawing a large crowd around them,” Cosom wrote. “While I was crossing the street at 500 E North Ave. to stop [the] argument I observed the unknown black male pushed [sic] the female with open hands three times. “At this time I went to place the male under arrest he got into a fighting stance and clenched his first. Me and the male got into a physical altercation due to me [sic] in fear for my safety and I received a punch to the body,” Cosom continued in the report, transcribed verbatim. Truss was arrested, although his assault and resisting arrest charges were later dropped. Thomas Gold Breaks Down ‘Eyes Wide Open’

Gold exclusively previews his new collaboration with Dirty South and Kate Elsworth. By Akshay Bhansali Thomas Gold Photo: MTV News Veteran DJ/producer Thomas Gold has surged in popularity in the last two years with a series of hits. Solo bangers “Marsch Marsch” and “Agora” are DJ set staples, and Swedish House Mafia fans know Gold’s remixes of Lady Gaga’s “Judas” and Adele’s “Set Fire to the Rain” can electrify a dance mob. And now, with his “Sing2me” single still on the way, Gold has another hit on his hands with “Eyes Wide Open,” a collaboration with Dirty South and Kate Elsworth that was recently previewed by tastemaker Pete Tong on his BBC Radio 1 show. When Gold was recently in New York, he stopped by MTV News in Times Square to break down the elements of “Eyes Wide Open.” “Dirty South and me, we did a bootleg together,” Gold said. “Dragan (Dirty South) had recorded a vocal with Kate, and we used it for the bootie and we played it out a lot. But in the end we decided to skip the bootleg because we fell in love with the vocal. We both loved it so much that we decided to do a new track around the whole thing.” “Eyes Wide Open,” which will be available for purchase January 23, is an effort Gold feels certainly cements the magic that comes from a Thomas Gold/ Dirty South collabo. “Dragan and me, we had a so much fun working (together),” Gold said. “There’s a great chemistry between us, and we had a good time. We both love the track. I can’t wait to see the reactions on the dance floor.” What do you think of Thomas Gold, Dirty South and Kate Elsworth’s “Eyes Wide Open”? Atlanta’s Own Goodie Mob Gives The “Dirty South” Its Name [THROWBACK THURSDAY]

Read this article:

Atlanta is considered a hotbed of hip hop these days, but that wasn’t the case in 1995. ATL’s own Dungeon Family crew would change that forever. Consisting of OutKast, Goodie Mob, Cool Breeze, Witchdoctor, producers Organized Noize and others, the Dungeon Family put real Atlanta hip hop on the map. Before Cee-Lo blew up with Gnarls Barkley and the song “F*ck You,” the SW ATL native was an integral member of Goodie Mob, along with Big Gipp, T-Mo and Khujo. Not only did the Dungeon Family redefine Southern hip hop forever, Goodie Mob actually gave the South its name with its 1995 hit single “Dirty South” from the group’s critically-acclaimed debut album, Soul Food. The song’s intro is a skit of a house raid by the controversial Red Dog drug police unit, which was recently disbanded . Big Boi from OutKast is featured on the song while Cool Breeze does the hook. Now considered a hip hop legend, Big wasn’t even old enough to drink when “Dirty South” dropped: “…year older / now I’m almost legal…” Goodie Mob – Dirty South by PeteRock RELATED: Cee Lo Says Goodie Mob Is 10 Tracks Deep Into Reunion Album RELATED: “Still A Summer Jam..Always A Classic!”- ThrowBack Thursday RELATED: “Before Cell Phones, There Were Beepers..Baby!” – #ThrowBackThursday RELATED: DJ Drama Interviews Goodie Mob RELATED: EXCLUSIVE VIDEO: Big Boi Talks Solo Album, OutKast Label Drama

Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Masquerade Motel’ Takes Over South Beach

Thousands of fans treated to sight and sound spectacular during trio’s Miami Music Week ‘One Night Stand.’ By Akshay Bhansali and Adam Stewart Swedish House Mafia Photo: 2010 Denise Truscello MIAMI — Swedish House Mafia attempted — and executed — a spectacle of mammoth proportions on Miami’s South Beach shore on Saturday. With close to 15,000 masked fans checked in and hundreds of others watching and dancing alongside a massive tent, the house music super-group treated their fans to the nine-hour mini-festival that was “Masquerade Motel: One Night Stand.” While the three Swedes were the headliners, their supporting lineup alone was worth marveling over: Junior Sanchez, A-Trak, Armand Van Helden, Max Vangeli, AN21, Dirty South, and Pete Tong (who also emceed the event) were among the big-name performers. But when it came time for Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso to take the stage, it was clear this show would be like no other Miami has seen. The curtain dropped to reveal a massive, 40-foot structure adorned with LED screens, lights, pyro and speakers. And with the trio standing at the center of it all, the crowd exploded. Swedish House Mafia opened with their late-summer 2010 anthem, “Miami 2 Ibiza,” which was followed by “Dynamite,” a new track by Alesso, who was recently signed to Ingrosso’s Refune Record Label. Then followed the stream of new music fans had been eagerly awaiting. SHM dropped a block of fresh tunes, a highlight of which was an off-center, Arabian-style techno monster that the crowd went berserk for, as the guys danced onstage in sync with their fans. Then there was a remix of deadmau5 ‘s “Strobe.” Next was Marco V’s “Reaver” and a mash-up of Angello’s “Show Me Love” and “KNAS,” which kicked the show into overdrive, accompanied by a stunning visual display.
