N-N-N-Word Music: Amandla Stenberg’s Nazi-Loving Movie Is Now Streaming And The Internet Is Roasting The Hell Out Of Her

Source: Rodin Eckenroth / Getty Where Hands Touch Is Getting Roasted Amanda Stenberg had quite a 2018. She revealed that she would have turned down a role in Black Panther because she wanted it to go to a darker-skinned black person. She starred in the amazing The Hate U Give. She did it all, it seemed. But people seemed to forget that she also starred in a movie called “Where Hands Touch.” The movie is about a black woman who falls in love with a Nazi in WWII Germany. Though the movie came out in September it just hit streaming sites and everyone is dragging the hell out of the movie and Stenberg herself. Whoo baby this is a whole a$$ drag and it’s pure comedy. Take a look… yooo 2019 doing a lot already https://t.co/w1vpdXQ9Zh — Desus Nice (@desusnice) January 3, 2019

Scary Christmas! Jordan Peele Finally Reveales The Trailer For His Latest Horror Film ‘Us’ [VIDEO]

Source: Courtesy Universal Pictures / Courtesy Universal Pictures The Trailer For ‘US’ Is Terrifying After sending shockwaves across contemporary culture and setting a new standard for provocative, socially-conscious horror films with his directorial debut, Get Out, Academy Award®-winning visionary Jordan Peele returns with another original nightmare that he has written, directed and produced. Set in present day along the iconic Northern California coastline, Us, from Monkeypaw Productions, stars Oscar® winner Lupita Nyong’o as Adelaide Wilson, a woman returning to her beachside childhood home with her husband, Gabe (Black Panther’s Winston Duke ), and their two children (Shahadi Wright Joseph, Evan Alex) for an idyllic summer getaway. Haunted by an unexplainable and unresolved trauma from her past and compounded by a string of eerie coincidences, Adelaide feels her paranoia elevate to high-alert as she grows increasingly certain that something bad is going to befall her family. After spending a tense beach day with their friends, the Tylers (Emmy winner Elisabeth Moss, Tim Heidecker, Cali Sheldon, Noelle Sheldon), Adelaide and her family return to their vacation home. When darkness falls, the Wilsons discover the silhouette of four figures holding hands as they stand in the driveway. Us pits an endearing American family against a terrifying and uncanny opponent: doppelgängers of themselves. Writer and director Peele produces for his Monkeypaw Productions alongside Sean McKittrick, Jason Blum, and Monkeypaw’s Ian Cooper. Us will be released by Universal Pictures on Friday, March 15, 2019. Are you excited to see this? Or scared out of your mind?

Forever 21 Could’ve Asked A Black Model To Sell Their ‘Black Panther’ Sweater…So, Why Didn’t They?

More:

Source: SOPA Images / Getty Forever 21 is under fire after displaying a total lack of common sense. On Tuesday, the fashion retailer hit Twitter to promote a Black Panther sweater they’re selling—the only problem is, the model they used to sell the new merch isn’t the slightest bit Black . The young blonde, blue-eyed man stands tall in the top, which reads “Wakanda Forever” across the front. The obvious question is: why wasn’t a Black person asked to model it? Of course, it didn’t take long before the internet blew up with frustration, while others said anyone of any race should be able to wear Wakanda gear. “People got mad because Forever 21 had a white male wearing a wakanda forever sweater… Y’all so aggravating and complain about everything. Like why can’t someone white be showcased wearing that ? Black panther is a marvel character created for any and everyone to enjoy RELAX,”  @lunaticshii  tweeted, for example. To be fair, most folks aren’t mad he’s simply wearing the shirt…they’re mad that out of everyone, he’s the person they chose to promote the shirt. Key difference. The way Black culture is continuously hijacked by other races while Black people are dumped and forgotten, we’d just appreciate it if Black folks were lifted up and celebrated whenever the opportunity presents itself. And having a Black model sell a Black Panther sweater was one of those OBVIOUS opportunities to show love, which makes us wonder if choices like the one Forever 21 made are intentional? Why deny a young Black king or queen that moment to shine amongst his/her peers? Are these companies really just that tone deaf? Are there no Black models at these shoots? Or, Black employees working the shoots? Eventually, Forever 21 decided to pull the photo and issue an apology via E! : “Forever 21 takes feedback on our products and marketing extremely seriously. We celebrate all superheroes with many different models of various ethnicities and apologize if the photo in question was offensive in any way.” Hit the flip to see some of the backlash the company received.

The Rewind: Michael B Jordan Delivers a Knockout Performance But Is He Able To Reel In An Award?

Read the original post:

Source: The Rewind / Global Grind On this week’s episode of The Rewind DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius go in on Michael B. Jordan’s performance in CREED II. As we always do, The Rewind takes a look back at some of the most talked about trends in music, film and television and then catches you up on everything you may have missed. Then, once we’re done playing catch up, DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius hook you up with their own personal rating of the subject. We do the hard stuff so you don’t have to. Creed II hit U.S. theaters on November 21, 2018. The film is about Adonis Creed, a professional boxer who takes after his world famous father, Apollo Creed, that was unfortunately killed during a match with a Russian boxer by the name of Ivan Drago in the 80’s. Ivan Drago and his son, Viktar Drago, challenge Adonis Creed to a rematch. With the opportunity to avenge his father’s death Adonis struggles with going against the wishes of his mentor Rocky or going with his ego and defending his dead father’s honor. Creed II smashed the box office. So far it’s done over $85 million in sales and only continues to climb. It scored an 82% on Rotten Tomatoes, only being beaten out by Widows and Spider-Man: Enter the SpiderVerse. Creed II picks up from where its predecessor leaves off. Adonis is in a relationship, he’s a champion, he’s still being trained by the legendary Rocky Balboa and he’s navigating through life without his father. Many people who enjoy Rocky movies were also satisfied with both Creed I and II. The people loved the sequel but did our experts DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius? Also this week we’re discussing Amine’s new “Reel It In” remix featuring Gucci Mane. The track dropped on November 20th. The new track by Amine is a smooth one. The original version appears on the Portland artist’s ONEPOINTFIVE album. Both DJ Franchise and Landon Levarius can agree that the song is a hit with or without a feature but the addition of Gucci Mane worked perfectly. Gucci simply floated on the beat and it’s a great vibe overall. Landon and Franchise gave the track rave reviews but what will they officially rate the single? You’ll have to press play on the video above for the answer on that!

Social Media Reacts To The Trailer For ‘Avengers 4: End Game’

See the article here:

Source: IPA/WENN.com / WENN It’s finally here! After a brief delay due to the untimely death of 41st president George H. W. Bush, comic book fans and Marvel enthusiasts alike can rest easy knowing that the first official trailer for Avengers 4 : End Game has finally arrived. Avengers 4: End Game picks up where Avengers 3: Infinity War left off which is basically directly after Thanos obtained all of the Infinity Stones he needed and completely obliterated half of the Earth’s population with a simple snap of his finger. In the last Avengers film, we watched as Black Panther, Spider-Man, Dr. Strange, Star Lord, Vision, Gamora, Bucky Barnes and more all died at the hands of Thanos. In the trailer for Avengers 4: End Game, we see Iron Man, now stranded alone on a remote planet, using his last bit of energy to try and make contact with his wife Pepper Pots, we learn that T’Challa’s sister Shuri is among the missing heroes, we see Thor seemingly blaming himself for the destruction of mankind, Captain America sheds some real life tears, Hawk Eye goes rogue and somehow someone has freed Ant-Man (Scott Lang) from the Quantum Realm. Part of the journey is the end. pic.twitter.com/vejn1Bx8Nz — Marvel Studios (@MarvelStudios) December 7, 2018 We must admit, we cannot wait to see this movie when it hits theaters in April. There’s a lot of info to unpack in the two and a half minute trailer and social media was right on hand to attempt to figure out what’s going on. Hit the flip to check out some of the reactions to the new trailer.   Thor got the same energy he had last movie. That’s the face of a man who wants all the smoke. #AvengersEndgame pic.twitter.com/DWbQ7h9NLF — New or Lean Wit It Rock Wit It (@DrTGIF) December 7, 2018 Watch Thor look so devastated and defeated has to be the Top 3 worst things you want to see in a Marvel movie. But for what it’s worth, this just means he’s going to deliver a godly fade to Thanos when it’s all said and done. Frankly, we can’t wait.
