Back in October Selena Gomez checked into rehab following what’s been described as an “emotional breakdown.” Last week, Selena was spotted for the first time since leaving treatment. Fans were delighted to see that Selena looked happy and healthy. But some were puzzled by the presence of a woman who was not a known member of Selena’s entourage, but who seemed to be with the singer at all times. “Selena has a life coach with her at all times now,” a source close to the situation tells Radar Online, But while the full-time companion has been described by some as a sobriety coach, Radar’s insider is quick to point out that the unidentified woman actually plays an even more important role in Gomez’s life: “It’s not like a sober coach, because Selena’s issues are much greater than just alcohol,” says the source. While Selena’s mental health is reportedly on the upswing these days, those closest to the singer strongly encouraged her to hire a life coach for this early stage of her recovery process. Family and management team “wanted someone to be there for her at all times,” says the insider. Fortunately, Selena was able to choose her new companion herself, and it seems she’s quite pleased with her choice. “Selena selected her life coach … She is doing well right now,” the source claims. In addition to talking through her issues with her life coach, Selena is reportedly “going to therapy, working with a psychologist, and just trying to stay real active.” In addition to her struggles with depression and anxiety, Gomez is battling a number of physical health issues, including Lupus. Selena underwent a kidney transplant in 2017, and she was recently hospitalized for a low white blood cell count. As is often the case with this sort of thing, there’s been much speculation about what caused Selena’s breakdown. Some have attributed it to her health issues, while others claim Justin Bieber’s marriage to Hailey Baldwin sent Selena into a downward spiral. In all likelihood, it was a confluence of factors — including the vagaries of her brain chemistry — that drove Selena to seek help. We’re glad she did, and we wish her all the best in her continued recovery.
After overcoming adversity and even racist death threats, Ashley and Jay weren’t undone by any outside force. Instead, everything went to crap when Jay cheated on Ashley. On Thursday, Jay tried to do damage control with 90 Day Fiance fans. It didn’t really work the way he’d hoped. “I found out that Jay made an account and was talking to multiple women, trying to meet with them” Ashley tearfully revealed on 90 Day Fiance . “So I looked at Jay,” Ashley says in another scene. “And I was like, ‘Do you have a Tinder?'” “And I said, ‘she’s screenshotting them,'” Ashley narrates of her confrontation with her former fiance. “I said to him, ‘she’ sending me the messages right now,'” Ashley continues. “So either you admit to it, or you are out on your f–kin ass.” “And that,” Ashley says. “Is when he admitted to everything. And I was like, ‘we’re done.'” Even more alarmingly, he punched a hole in the wall — which should usually be a relationship-ender all by itself. Jay took to social media to do his level best to put a positive spin on him ruining his own relationship with cheating. “It happened and it is what it is,” Jay writes in his Instagram Stories. “I cannot go back in time and change the past,” he laments, as if his cheating were some cruel twist of fate. “I can only make a brighter future,” he notes. Jay then writes: “And make up for whosoever heart I have broken.” He seems to be acting like what he has done is some kind of mystery. Jay then posted a series of “wedding” photos that he and Ashley Martson took in Jamaica. The two considered it more of a commitment ceremony, because their legal wedding was to take place in the United States. Though these photos have since been deleted by Jay (along with most of what was on his Instagram), we have them for you here. We also have his very curious caption that accompanied those photos. As he explains, he and Ashley were already ceremonially married when he decided to cheat on her. Jay is a difficult man to understand. “We had a non-legal ceremony in 2017 for my family,” Jay reveals in his caption. “Since they couldn’t make it to the US.” “Those,” he explains. “Were the photos floating around.” Many had assumed that Jay and Ashley got married long before the season, because their wedding photos had leaked. Now, those images are in context. “I was able to fly to Mexico after for ten days,” Jay continues. “Where Ashley and I celebrated.” “We didn’t get our dream wedding in America,” he acknowledges. “But before I came to the US,” he writes. “I did get a beautiful Jamaican ceremony.” Jay says: “I know things aren’t good between Ashley and I.” “But,” he continues. “These photos are memories I never want to forget.” “And memories I wanted to [share] with all of you,” he concludes. A couple of hours later, and the photos simply vanished from Instagram. Maybe Jay thought better of his words. Maybe he didn’t appreciate what 90 Day Fiance fans had to say about him acting like their split was an act of fate. Or maybe Ashley didn’t want to see pics of her in a wedding dress plastered all over the internet and told Jay as much. We don’t know, but we’re interested to know more. What really has us curious is this: how in the world did they keep this a secret for so many months? According to NBC New York , a 22-year-old Chinese national student, Yukai Yang, at Lehigh University in Pennsylvania has been arrested and charged the attempted murder of his unidentified Black roommate. Yang was previously accused of drawing racist graffiti on the roommate’s belongings. While police were investigating the crime, they noticed that the roommate had been sick for quite some time and called emergency assistance for uncontrollable vomiting. The victim told police that he had been drinkign from a bottle and his tongue began to burn. A blood test revealed that there were high levels of thallium in the victim’s blood. Thallium is a poison designed to kill rats and other rodents. Yang admitted to buying the thallium and says he was going to use it on himself if his grade began to slip. Says D.A. John Morganelli: “This was over a period of time with … thallium being added to foods and drinks in the refrigerator,” Morganelli said. “He was getting worse all the time.” Word from the CDC is that thallium causes nausea, painful limbs, rapid heart rate, high blood pressure, kidney damage and nerve damage. Yang is sitting in the can until his trial begins.

Kim Kardashian is taking over. Yes, we know she took over the pop cultural landscape long ago, and perhaps in some respects, her career has peaked. But while Kim might be overshadowed by her younger sisters in terms of fame and media clout, she’s slowly assuming the role of the Kard clan matriarchal figure who’s in charge of family festivities. Sure, Kris Jenner is still at the top of the Kar-Jenner foodchain, but this year, she took a major step toward semi-retirement (We all know Kris will never fully retire.) by letting Kim host the family’s annual Christmas Eve bash. And what a celebration it was. Kim being Kim, there was an elaborate theme in place. The decor and attire were all in accordance with a “Winter Wonderland Whoville” motif. Though to be honest most of the guests just dressed like they were headed to one of Diddy’s annual White Parties and showed little regard for the more Seuss-ian aspect of the theme. But with a guest list like this, who could complain? Obviously, Kim’s A-list family was in attendance, including Khloe Kardashian and Tristan Thompson, who were newly returned from a short pre-holiday trip to Mexico. But the Kards weren’t the only famous faces in hand for the Yuletide bash. Jennifer Lopez and Alex Rodriguez both stopped by to spread some holiday cheer (and pose for a selfie or two). Even Kim’s former bestie Paris Hilton stopped by for a spell. Maybe this is Paris’ way of trying to atone for all the trash she talked back in the days when Kim was her lowly closet-organizer. Attendees say John Legend took the stage to belt out some holiday classics, and all the guests seem to thoroughly enjoy themselves. Khloe’s sisters even refrained from berating Tristan Thompson for cheating on her while she was pregnant with his child. (Though frankly, we’re of the opinion that Tristan-bashing should be an annual tradition from here on out.) All-in-all it sounds like the party was a respite from what’s been an intensely drama-packed year for the Kardashians. The Buena Regional High School student was told at a match that his hair and headgear were not compliant with regulation and would have to instantly cut his locks or forfeit the round, according to a statement Friday from the Buena Regional School District. Video of the student having his hair cut while in tears went viral after it was circulated on social media the following day. The New Jersey State Interscholastic Athletic Association released a statement that said it would recommend the referee to not officiate any matches until a review could be completed. “Regulations regarding hair length and legal hair covers for wrestlers are provided by the National Federation of State High School Associations,” the statement read. “At this point, the NJSIAA is working to determine the exact nature of the incident and whether an infraction occurred.” No-loc bans are designed to oppress and shame Black people not just for expressing Blackness, but *for* their Blackness. But prior to his eleventh-hour sunken decision, the NFL was practically begging Cardi B to turn up and support Maroon 5 at the show — which she has notably refused. However, according to a source for Page Six , Cardi is only refusing to perform at halftime because the NFL isn’t meeting her outlandish demands, not because she has any solidarity with kneeling players or issues with the league’s racial policies. The source claims Cardi demanded to be paid around $1 million to appear during the 20-minute performance and also required a solo spot during the show without Maroon 5 accompanying her on stage. The thing is, the NFL typically doesn’t pay artists to perform at all. They instead give a “gift in kind” to performers, which covers all production and wardrobe for the performance, travel, and accommodations for the artists. It’s more of a career benchmark and honor for the artists than a big-check opportunity. But Cardi wants her cash. Other sources close to Cardi claim that she really is refusing the slot in solidarity with Kaepernick and his #TakeAKnee movement, and it has nothing to do with the 7 figures the NFL isn’t handing out.
