Mind Your Business, White People: Black Man Harassed By Mayo Dollop Over Whether He Lives In Apartment Building

Source: Kwanchai Lerttanapunyaporn / EyeEm / Getty White Man Questions Whether Black Man Lives In Apartment Complex Why can’t white people just mind their f**king business? Seriously, why? A Black Bleacher Report employee, Chika Okafor, has, unfortunately, become the latest contestant on “The Price Is White” when a condescending soup cookie stopped him to question whether or not he actually lived in his apartment building. The krusty kolonizer klaims that he’s lived in the building for “27 years” and has never seen Chika in there. As if he knows every single person in the entire complex. SMFH. The incident was caught on camera per uush. As you can see, he thought that he was entitled to know who I was and where I lived simply because, according to him, he lived there for 27 years. https://t.co/SWzpkK4qbk — Chika Okafor (@ChikaO_13) December 20, 2018 The arrogance is appalling but honestly, not surprising because far too many times people of color have been victims of this kind of behavior. You can watch the video of the incident here. #racialprofiling #privilege #racism #noseyneighbor #mindyourbusiness #harassment pic.twitter.com/DlnSf154h8 — Chika Okafor (@ChikaO_13) December 20, 2018 It wasn’t lost on commenters that the white man clearly had an objective, via Yahoo : “What was with him criticizing you for being calm, collected and cool. These people can’t stand that a black man can be more dignified and cooler than they will ever be,” one Twitter user commented. Further-f***ing-more… “If he was truly backing down to be neighborly, he would have done neighborly things like introduce himself or extend a handshake,” another person wrote. “His intentions were very clear.” Hey, white folks, mind your f***ing business. Go in your house and leave us the f**k alone.

Cyntoia Brown Dealt A Cruel Blow By Tennessee’s Soulless Governor

Go here to see the original:

Y esterday, Tennessee Gov. Bill Haslam granted executive clemency to 11 people and none of them was  Cyntoia Brown . In a news release, he said, “I am pleased to grant these acts of clemency. These individuals have made positive contributions to their communities and deserve pardons, or are individuals who will receive another chance to become contributing members of society by virtue of their commutations.” See Also: Mia Love Whines People Don’t Like Her Because She’s Black, Not Because She Supported A Racist Cyntoia Brown was 16 years old in 2004 when she shot and killed  Johnny Mitchell Allen , 43, in self-defense. She thought he was reaching for a gun after he solicited her for sex. Prosecutors argued she wanted to rob Allen, not defend herself. After being tried as an adult, Brown was convicted of first-degree murder in 2006. Due to outrage on social media, and attention from  Rihanna and  Kim Kardashian,  her story went viral. The case eventually made it to the Tennessee Supreme Court due to the work not from celebrities but prison reform advocates. On Dec. 8, CNN.com reported, “On Thursday the court said defendants like Cyntoia Brown, who are convicted of first-degree murder committed after July 1, 1995, and sentenced to life imprisonment, can’t become eligible for release from prison before serving more than five decades. The court’s five justices were unanimous in their decision against Brown.” The Tennessee Supreme Court explained their ruling in a statement that read in part “under state law, a life sentence is a determinate sentence of 60 years. However, the sixty-year sentence can be reduced by up to 15 percent, or 9 years, by earning various sentence credits.” Brown’s case is pending judgment in the Sixth Circuit Court of Appeals, but Haslam could have been the one to give her a second chance. 2Pac Shooter At Quad Studios Claims His Friend Stretch Set Him Up [Video]

Read the original here:

Source: Tupac Shakur 1996 MTV Music Awards Featuring: Tupac Shakur Where: New York City, Nevada, United States When: 04 Sep 1996 Credit: Chris Connor / WENN The story behind 2Pac’s infamous night at New York City’s Quad Studios has gotten even more interesting. Makaveli’s friend is now accused of setting him up. As spotted on  HipHopDX (Riker’s Island isn’t a state prison by the way) Dexter Isaac alleges that Pac’s one time ally orchestrated the hit which left “I Get Around” rapper shot five times. In a recent interview with Gully TV  he reveals Live Squad member Randy “Stretch” Walker was paid by Jimmy Henchmen for his participation. “Stretch set the whole thing up. He was in cahoots and was giving us the play-by-play” he asserted in the audio clip. “He was in communication with Jimmy [Henchman] who had promised him a quarter brick of cocaine.” Later in the interview he also says he approached Walter “King Tut” Johnson for lying that he took part in the robbery. “We sat down and talked and he couldn’t answer. What jewelry was taken m*****f*****, describe the jewelry, what was taken? How did it go down? And this m*****f***** couldn’t say s***.” On November 30, 1994 while entering the lobby of the facility Tupac was robbed and shot by three men. It should be noted that Stretch was with Tupac but was not armed and therefore could not intervene. He was rushed to the hospital for emergency surgery. The next day he checked himself out of the hospital against doctor’s orders. He then showed up court in a wheelchair to receive his sentencing for the sexual assault case. In an interview with Vibe Shakur would later point blame at Notorious B.I.G. and Diddy for letting him walk into certain doom since they were recording there that night too. Later he would hint at Jimmy Henchman’s involvement on “Against All Odds”. Additionally it is widely believed Stretch was addressed on “Holla At Me” for his betrayal. “How could you do me like that? / I took your family in / I put some cash in your pocket / Made you a man again / And now you let the fear put your ass in a place / Complicated to escape, it’s a fools fate / Without your word, you’re a shell of a man /I  lost respect for you ni*** / We can never be friends.” Ironically Stretch was killed in a drive by shooting a year to the date of the Quad Studios incident fueling rumors that the slaying was payback for being conspirator in the sneak attack. In 2011 Dexter Isaac confessed to the robbery claiming Jimmy Henchmen paid him $2,500 dollars for the hit. You can listen to the interview below where he also describes the jewelry taken from Tupac. Laughing While Black: Ohio Pigs Settle $80,000 Lawsuit For Beating Man Who Mocked Them

Source: SOPA Images / Getty Ohio Police Arrest And Beat Black Man For Laughing Police officers are not to be trusted and we literally have thousands of reasons why. Today, we add yet another reason to that list. According to WKYC , an Ohio man was arrested and beaten by police officers for laughing and mocking them. Robert Spencer was in his front yard with some children from the neighborhood when police rolled past. Let them tell it, Spencer made threats and insulted them when they got out of their car to confront him. The lawsuit claims that the officers confirmed their motivation on videotape: to punish Spencer’s speech. “All you had to do was shut the %#$ up,” one officer said. “We weren’t even going to arrest you.” They told Spencer that “saying stuff to us when we drive by” justified investigation, arrest, detention, beatings, and prosecution—all of which he could have avoided by “keep[ing] his mouth shut when we came out.” After filing lawsuit against the department, a settlement was reached that required police to pay Spencer $80,000 in addition to mandating “adequate training to all active-duty police officers” in regards to the first amendment and civil rights. And now, after the allegations of sexual abuse and assault lodged against its co-creator Salim Akil , the network has decided to cancel the show. According to Variety , OWN cancelled “Love Is __” just weeks after news broke the Salim Akil had been accused of sexually abusing Amber Dixon Brenner, a woman with whom he allegedly maintained a 10-year-long extramarital affair. Sources claim that Warner Bros. Television, which produces “Love Is __” completed an investigation inspired by the lawsuit Dixon Brenner filed. They found no allegations of misconduct on the OWN series or on “Black Lighting,” the other show Akil created and produces. Up until now, Akil is still in place as the showrunner. Preproduction on the second season of had reportedly already begun. But according to sources, the allegations against Akil “presented a unique challenge for the future of the season, which had been billed as being based on the real-life romance of Salim Akil and Mara Brock Akil. Apparently, people at OWN felt the narrative had been “compromised.” As we reported earlier, actor and director Amber Dixon Brenner said that during their ten-year relationship Akil slapped, strangled and forced oral sex on numerous occasions. She claimed that he urinated in her mouth on one occasion, raped her when she complained of sex being too painful and forced her to lick a wall in a parking garage. In addition to the sexual abuse, Dixon Brenner, who is also married, claimed that Akil used portions of a script she’d sent him in “Love Is ___” Mara Brock Akil took to Instagram to share her feelings about the cancellation and said, ” LOVE IS___ I am saddened that this great group of #artists and #storytellers will no longer get to create together on this project in this way. This was a special tribe— assembling teams like this is by the grace of God— and I will miss not being on set with them to make more magic. And though I know we will all go on to create more amazing work, I’m grateful there was a moment in time that we came together and had the courage to give our best to try and tell a story about love with love. #InTheLandOf #LoveIs.” ALSO TRENDING ON RICKEYSMILEYMORNINGSHOW.COM : Somebody Needs To Get Jacquees Before Keith Sweat Lays Him Out [VIDEO] After Losing 30 Pounds By Changing Her Diet, A Slim And Sugar-Free Sherri Shepherd Is Ready To Date Again Michelle Obama Shares Funny Story About President Barack Obama’s Car When He Was In Law School [EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW] [ione_media_gallery src=”https://rickeysmileymorningshow.com” id=”1955568″ overlay=”true”] Follow @TheRSMS

Forever 21 Could’ve Asked A Black Model To Sell Their ‘Black Panther’ Sweater…So, Why Didn’t They?

Excerpt from:

Source: SOPA Images / Getty Forever 21 is under fire after displaying a total lack of common sense. On Tuesday, the fashion retailer hit Twitter to promote a Black Panther sweater they’re selling—the only problem is, the model they used to sell the new merch isn’t the slightest bit Black . The young blonde, blue-eyed man stands tall in the top, which reads “Wakanda Forever” across the front. The obvious question is: why wasn’t a Black person asked to model it? Of course, it didn’t take long before the internet blew up with frustration, while others said anyone of any race should be able to wear Wakanda gear. “People got mad because Forever 21 had a white male wearing a wakanda forever sweater… Y’all so aggravating and complain about everything. Like why can’t someone white be showcased wearing that ? Black panther is a marvel character created for any and everyone to enjoy RELAX,”  @lunaticshii  tweeted, for example. To be fair, most folks aren’t mad he’s simply wearing the shirt…they’re mad that out of everyone, he’s the person they chose to promote the shirt. Key difference. The way Black culture is continuously hijacked by other races while Black people are dumped and forgotten, we’d just appreciate it if Black folks were lifted up and celebrated whenever the opportunity presents itself. And having a Black model sell a Black Panther sweater was one of those OBVIOUS opportunities to show love, which makes us wonder if choices like the one Forever 21 made are intentional? Why deny a young Black king or queen that moment to shine amongst his/her peers? Are these companies really just that tone deaf? Are there no Black models at these shoots? Or, Black employees working the shoots? Eventually, Forever 21 decided to pull the photo and issue an apology via E! : “Forever 21 takes feedback on our products and marketing extremely seriously. We celebrate all superheroes with many different models of various ethnicities and apologize if the photo in question was offensive in any way.” Hit the flip to see some of the backlash the company received.

#BankingWhileBlack: Tellers Call Cops On Black Man For Thinking His Paycheck Was Too High

View post:

Source: Diane Macdonald / Getty We don’t know what is going on with 2018, but it seems that this is the year where Black people just living their lives seems to prompt folks to call the police called on us. Case in point: A Cleveland bank called the police on a Black customer because they allegedly believed his paycheck was “too high” and was fraudulent. . @Huntington_Bank employee calls cops on black man because they thought his paycheck was too high #racism #racist https://t.co/dU7YjPpkh1 — Raw Story (@RawStory) December 18, 2018 Paul McCowns claims that while he was trying to cash his first paycheck from his new job at an electric company, he was racially profiled by a teller at Huntington Bank, who refused to cash his check. According to WOIO TV , McCowns said his paycheck was a little over $1,000 and that he followed the bank’s rules of showing two forms of identification and a fingerprint, as required for non-Huntington customers. But for some reason, that wasn’t good enough. McCowns says that the employees began looking at the computer screen, questioning the transaction. “They tried to call my employer numerous times. He never picked up the phone,” he told WOIO. After tellers told him they couldn’t cash his check, McCowns said he left the bank. But when he got the parking lot, he saw the police cars and was instructed to get out his car. He was later handcuffed. Police then told him that the tellers had called 911 on him, a fact he didn’t know. WOIO obtained the 911 call and reported that the teller told the authorities, “He’s trying to cash a check and the check is fraudulent. It does not match our records.” When asked if McCowns knew that the police were being called on him, the teller replied, “No.” Shortly after, police got McCowns employer on the phone who confirmed that he worked for him and that his paycheck was that amount. A bank representative apologized for the teller’s behavior to the news channel, explaining that because of 11 cases of fraud in recent months, their employees were being “hyper-vigilant.” “We sincerely apologize to Mr. McCowns for this extremely unfortunate event,” the bank said in a statement. “We accept responsibility for contacting the police as well as our own interactions with Mr. McCowns. Anyone who walks into a Huntington branch should feel welcomed. Regrettably, that did not occur in this instance and we are very sorry.” However, McCowns isn’t hearing it. He wants for the bank to apologize to him directly for racial profiling. Meanwhile, a bank rep claims McCowns has yet to return their calls.
