Blackhawks Thank Bruins, City of Boston in Classy Open Letter

After defeating the Boston Bruins to win the Stanley Cup this week, the Chicago Blackhawks took out a full-page ad in the rival city’s Boston Globe . The purpose: To thank the Bruins, their fans and Boston itself. Pretty classy gesture by the Blackhawks, especially after celebrating their Cup victory on Boston’s home ice with a dramatic Game 6 clincher. Win like men, lose like men. Both goals can be elusive. But based on the contents of this letter, it appears the members of both NHL finalists did just that, along with the fans of the 2011 champion Bruins. Refreshing, wouldn’t you say?

Sports Reporter Fired: Susannah Collins Let Go Over "Sex" Snafu, Controversy

Comcast SportsNet Chicago reporter Susannah Collins has been fired after making an epic gaffe the other night that led to revelations about her past. Chicago Blackhawks Reporter Miscue “Due to circumstances unrelated to her on-air remarks Tuesday, Susannah Collins and Comcast SportsNet Chicago have parted ways,” CSN Chicago said. “We appreciate everything that Susannah has contributed to our network over the past year and wish her the best in her future endeavors.”   Tuesday, the Chicago Blackhawks reporter said that the NHL hockey team had a “tremendous amount of sex during the regular season.” She meant to say “success.” The mistake went viral, landing everywhere from news web sites to the Tonight Show , which was expected, but unfortunately for Collins, it didn’t end there. Susannah’s slip of the tongue quickly refocused the Internet’s attention on a series of raunchy YouTube videos uploaded between 2009 and 2010. As co-host of Sports Nutz, Collins pushed the boundaries of journalism (and tact) with sexually explicit reports and potentially offensive racial stereotypes. It was all too much for CSN, which cut Collins loose with the above statement … and probably sent Barstool Sports scrambling for her contact info.

A Chicago Blackhawks fan made the most of his chance at an intermission contest at the United Center. After recalling his failure in the contest, he told Kustok “I love you” live on center ice at the Blackhawks vs. Minnesota Wild game last night. Here’s our hero in action: Blackhawks Fan Hits on Reporter This was no casual one-off. The Casanova of Chicago hockey then repeated his profession for good measure, telling her. “You’re so pretty and beautiful. I love you.” Kustok, who blushed and was clearly not expecting this, responded, “I don’t even know what to say. I’m just going to say thank you. I don’t know what to say.” Say you’ll marry him on Center Ice next game Sarah.
