SMH: Black Trans Journalist Kicked Off United Flight For Rocking A$AP Rocky Shirt And Marvel Black Panther Hat

Black Transwoman Kicked Off Flight For Wearing “Black Panther” Hat Amanda Stevens, a black transgender freelance journalist from Albany, NY was hoping to peacefully take a flight to Chicago to cover a League of Legends event. However, the flight crew wasn’t feeling her attire and eventually put her off the flight because of it . The trouble started when the pilot expressed discomfort over Amanda’s A$AP Rocky shirt, which featured a black and white American flag turned upside down: Dear @united this shirt shouldn't make your pilot uncomfortable enough to warrant having me spoken to and told to take it off pic.twitter.com/AHNU3pZxLC — Amanda Stevens (@sagegnosis) October 12, 2016 Now, WHY the pilot was inspecting the clothing of passengers before boarding the plane, we aren’t sure. Especially since an American flag displayed upside down is actually an internationally recognized sign of distress — something a pilot should generally know… But Amanda complied by turning her shirt inside out before boarding. However, as soon as she got seated, suddenly flight attendants had even more issues with her flight attire. Next, it was her Marvel “Black Panther” hat that had them shook: And now I am being told I can't wear my hat @united this is unreal and fucking racist pic.twitter.com/338GyYDa97 — Amanda Stevens (@sagegnosis) October 12, 2016 And if singling her out for clothing items they clearly mis-assigned as “terrorist” or otherwise offensive wasn’t enough…they sought the first opportunity they could find to label her aggressive and put her out. According to Gizmodo : Reached by phone, Stevens told io9 that a United representative first raised concerns when she was preparing to board flight 5183 from Albany to Chicago. Stevens told me that she’s flown in this outfit before but turned the shirt inside out. She was then told that the hat was a concern as well. She was allowed to board the plane but had a tense exchange with an attendant who asked her to place her bag under the seat in front of her. “I didn’t know if I was going to be staying on the plane or not and I said that,” she told me. “I was grumbling because I was frustrated.” Stevens then told me that the exchange with the flight attendant was given as the reason that she was ejected from the flight. He didn't seem that bothered to give me a smug look when he walked past me to the bathroom @united — Amanda Stevens (@sagegnosis) October 12, 2016 The pilot feels “uncomfortable” @united I didn't know he has to look at me while he flies. I feel uncomfortable having a racist pilot — Amanda Stevens (@sagegnosis) October 12, 2016 Kicked off the flight — Amanda Stevens (@sagegnosis) October 12, 2016 Lord…they kick Muslims off the plane for being “threatening,” and Black folks off the plane for wearing things that make the pilot — who literally NEVER has to see passengers — uncomfortable. Do white people get kicked off the plane for ANYTHING? Or is this treatment just “scary” Black and brown folks?? Twitter/FoxNews

Miranda Kerr Unveils the New Qantas Uniform of the Day

Sure she’s not half naked, like you’d expect from a bikini/lingerie model, but I guess she is modeling Flight Attendant uniforms, and no one has made an ideal airline where the girls are babes half naked serving you endless drinks. In fact, every time I have traveled, the flight attendants have been old fucking hags, union workers, who sit in the back of the plane and gossip about other flight attendants, instead of living up the 1940s aviation dream of models working the aisles for your comfort, safety and enjoyment, even though they look like they may have been working in the 40s, at least based on their sex appeal. That said, the Qantas airline uniform, straight from Australia, has a Film Noir, Carmen Sandiego, spy vibe to it, and if you pretend that she’s wearing nothin’ underneath, shit’s fucking erotic while waiting to board the plane and not get peanuts cuz kids have weak immune systems and fucked that up for us. ‘Lost’ Star Jorge Garcia Pens Farewell To The Island

‘I still don’t think the end of it all has hit me yet,’ actor writes in Variety. By Eric Ditzian Jorge Garcia Photo: Dario Cantatore/ Getty Images Sure, “Lost” has got take-charge Jack, beautiful Kate, smoldering Sawyer, badass Sayid and many more colorful characters that have spent time living (and often dying) on that mysterious island. Yet it’d be hard to argue that anyone but jolly Hugo “Hurley” Reyes is the show’s fan favorite. He’s a truth-teller, a voice of the fan at home, an honest do-gooder, a guy you just can’t helping rooting for. So too has Jorge Garcia, who plays the teddy bear-like Hurley, become beloved amongst the zealous “Lost” fanbase. As the show hurtles toward its series finale on Sunday, Garcia penned an essay for Variety in which he reminisces about the casting process six seasons ago, shares memories of his time shooting in Hawaii and talks about filming the final episode. Here’s an excerpt: “At 5 a.m. on April 24, I became unemployed,” Garcia begins. “I just wrapped my six-season run on ‘Lost.’ The job that went above and beyond anything I could have imagined was over. … “My last day on ‘Lost’ was also my longest: 20 hours. Without going into details, I can say the shoot was dangerous, physical and wet. But what could be more appropriate? How else could we end this epic show without an epic marathon night of shooting? At the end of it all we all remarked how we expected the end to be more emotional for us, but we were too tired to cry. “I’ll admit I got a little teary with Matthew Fox. I thanked him for everything he taught me, including taking me on his trip to Japan to see Green Day that first summer of shooting. At the time, flying at the last minute to a foreign country was way out of my comfort zone, but then again, nothing on ‘Lost’ was ever in my comfort zone. “I stuck around after even after I wrapped to see the martini shot of the entire show. I could feel director Jack Bender’s resistance to call “print” on that last take. In fact I’m pretty sure he asked for one more take to delay the inevitable. “I still don’t think the end of it all has hit me yet. Maybe I’ll feel it when the finale finally airs Sunday. Or maybe it will hit me when I board the plane at Honolulu Airport for the last time as a Hawaiian resident. “I have no clue what my next adventure is going to be, I just know this job is going to be a hard one to follow.” Which “Lost” character will you miss the most when the show ends?
