Herman sounded like a Mississippi preacher on Sunday evening: “They call me racist too because I happen to disagree with the president,” Cain said at the Conservative Political Action Conference Friday. “If you disagree about their liberal leader you must be a racist no matter what color you are.” Cain said his disagreement with Obama was based on policies, not race. “Some black people can think for themselves,” he said. He told the crowd: “You are not racist.” I have no idea. The fact that it has become an issue, or a controversy, does raise a question that I can’t say that I feel one way or the other because I have not reviewed all the various “proof” one way or another.

Michele Lee, 44, bolted the couple’s Buffalo home Thursday and flew to Florida, where she and Lee, 46, are holed up inside the gates of Key Largo’s exclusive Ocean Reef Club, where Lee’s dad, Patrick, owns a $4 million home, insiders told The Post. “She’s crushed — this was supposed to be her prince charming,” a friend of Michele said yesterday. Michele had been concerned about the upstate lawmaker’s extended solo stays in Washington, and had tried to get him to spend more time in Buffalo, said another source. Revelations that Lee had trawled Craigslist for trysts — and even sent one would-be paramour a cheesy shirtless picture of himself — are a particularly harsh blow for Michele, whose first marriage to a high-school sweetheart ended after he cheated on her. “She picked a bad boy twice, which is a shame, because she’s a smart woman without a mean bone in her body. She’s absolutely humiliated,” said a friend. “She was so proud of him and what he’d accomplished.” Lee’s dad, wealthy businessman Patrick Lee, is also apoplectic over his son’s spectacular career flameout, friends said. The respected, straight-laced Patrick had previously warned his son about his philandering, and was “particularly enraged” over the “sloppiness of the situation” and the photo, a source noted. “Patrick is mortified, [and] pushed his son to resign immediately to curtail any extended embarrassment for the family,” the source said. “He said, ‘End it quick.’ ” In Washington yesterday, GOPers were also hoping for a quick end, but that was out of the question as media scrutiny of Republican sex lives ratcheted up. House Speaker John Boehner has had at least two meetings warning congressmen to keep their pants zipped and their partying under control, sources said. Source Bout DAMN time! CAIRO — Egypt’s President Hosni Mubarak is to step down, two sources told NBC News Thursday, as widespread protests against his 30-year rule continue to grip the country. Following an all-day meeting of the country’s supreme military council, state television reported that the military council had expressed its “support of the legitimate demands” of the people. NBC News reported that a high-ranking source inside the president’s office said Mubarak would step down and the newly appointed vice president, Omar Suleiman, would take over. This was then confirmed by a second source. The news came following repeated warnings by members of the regime of a military crackdown or coup. Some pro-democracy protesters reacted cautiously, saying they would only believe Mubarak was really resigning when he announced it on state television. State TV said Mubarak would speak to the nation Thursday night from his palace in Cairo. However, Al-Arabiya television news said there were reports that Mubarak had gone to the Red Sea resort of Sharm el-Sheik with his army chief of staff. There were other reports that he had actually left Egypt yesterday and that his statement was pre-recorded. Despite being happy about Mubarak’s resignation there are still some concerns amongst Egyptians about what type of governing body will take power. “It’s a good development, but we really want to know if it will be a military government or not. That’s our fear,” Ahmed Medhat, a 41-year-old film director who was in the square earlier Thursday, said. “Maybe it will be a military government for five months, it will be ok. But forever?” he said. “We are waiting to take a decision. Will it be a military government? Maybe we stay and we are not going home again.” Congratulations to the people of Egypt! But when he trolls Craigslist’s “Women Seeking Men” forum, he’s Christopher Lee, divorced “lobbyist” and “fit fun classy guy.” One object of his flirtation told us her story. On the morning of Friday, January 14, a single 34-year-old woman put an ad in the “Women for Men” section of Craigslist personals. “Will someone prove to me not all CL men look like toads?” she asked, inviting “financially & emotionally secure” men to reply. That afternoon, a man named Christopher Lee replied. He used a Gmail account that Rep. Christopher Lee has since confirmed to be his own. (It’s the same Gmail account that was associated with Lee’s personal Facebook account, which the Congressman deleted when we started asking questions.) By email, Lee identified himself as a 39-year-old lobbyist and sent a PG picture to the woman from the ad: Lee’s Craigslist correspondent—a government employee from Maryland who asked not to be identified—liked what she saw. She replied flirtatiously. He replied with a PG-13 muscle picture. After first telling us that he couldn’t comment until we forwarded every single email in question, a request we refused—shouldn’t Lee know if he’s corresponded with women on Craigslist?—Lee’s spokesman eventually announced that the Congressman believed he’d been hacked, and provided an email he claims Lee sent to his staff about the security breach on January 21. That could, theoretically, be true. But the evidence suggests otherwise. The emails were sent more than a week before the alleged hack. The shirtless photo—which, according to metadata contained in the picture, was taken in Washington, D.C.—-was taken with a Blackberry, the same mobile device that Lee uses, which means the hacker would have also had to access the photos on Lee’s phone. Finally, if someone had hacked into his account and was seeking to discredit the politician, why shoot in the dark with such relatively benign emails to a totally random middle-aged woman on Craigslist, who didn’t seem motivated one way or the other to us, beyond wanting to share a funny story?
