Armed Black Army Veteran Gunned Down By Police In His Home via Breaking Brown An Oklahoma man was gunned down by police after he called 911 to report a crime. Daniel Martin Jr., 41, called police to report vandals in his driveway, but when police arrived, they fatally shot Martin, reports News Oklahoma. “They’re still at my front door,” the decorated Army veteran told a 911 dispatcher. He also advised the dispatcher that he was holding a gun just in case the vandals broke into his home. “I’m inside with my weapon,” he said. Still, when Martin opened his door, someone yelled “gun!” and police officers Elijah Garcia and Anthony Edwards opened fire on Martin. Drugs were found in Martin’s system and police say he was hallucinating and had also fired a shot into a closet, convinced that someone was hiding inside. Police also say a gun was fired from inside the home as they approached, although it is not clear why the shot was fired. Tina Martin said her husband suffered from post traumatic stress syndrome (PTSD) and “had been struggling with it for some time.” Anti-depressants were also found in his system. He served in the Army from 1998 to 2004. The police have been cleared of any wrongdoing.

We reported on Daniele Watts being detained , handcuffed, and humiliated by LAPD after she showed public affection to her white husband, Brian James Lucas. The “PIGS” thought she was a “prostitute.” Now, Daniele took to her facebook to tell about the incident: Today I was handcuffed and detained by 2 police officers from the Studio City Police Department after refusing to agree that I had done something wrong by showing affection, fully clothed, in a public place. When the officer arrived, I was standing on the sidewalk by a tree. I was talking to my father on my cell phone. I knew that I had done nothing wrong, that I wasn’t harming anyone, so I walked away. A few minutes later, I was still talking to my dad when 2 different police officers accosted me and forced me into handcuffs. As I was sitting in the back of the police car, I remembered the countless times my father came home frustrated or humiliated by the cops when he had done nothing wrong. I felt his shame, his anger, and my own feelings of frustration for existing in a world where I have allowed myself to believe that “authority figures” could control my BEING… my ability to BE!!!!!!! I was sitting in that back of this cop car, filled with adrenaline, my wrist bleeding in pain, and it occurred to me, that even there, I STILL HAD POWER OVER MY OWN SPIRIT. Those cops could not stop me from expressing myself. They could not stop the cathartic tears and rage from flowing out of me. They could not force me to feel bad about myself. Yes, they had control over my physical body, but not my emotions. My feelings. My spirit was, and still is FREE. I will continue to look any “authority figure” in the eye without fear. NO POLICE OFFICER OR GOVERNMENT OFFICIAL IS MORE POWERFUL THAN ME. WE ARE EQUALS. I KNOW THAT I WILL ALWAYS BE FREE BECAUSE THAT IS THE NATURE OF MY SPIRIT. And moreover, I deeply enjoyed connecting with the cops who detained me. I allowed myself to be honest about my anger, frustration, and rage as tears flowed from my eyes. The tears I cry for a country that calls itself “the land of the free and the home of the brave” and yet detains people for claiming that very right. Today I exist with courage, knowing that I am blessed to have experienced what I did today. All of those feelings, no matter how uncomfortable. These feelings are what builds my internal strength, my ability to grow through WHATEVER may happen to me. That internal knowing is what guides me in this world. Not the law, not fear, not mistrust of government or cops or anything else. In this moment there is a still small voice whispering to me. It says: You are love. You are free. You are pure. What kind of country club is “too good” for the POTUS??? President Obama Turned Away From New York Country Clubs Most country clubs want prestigious clientele using their facilities. Who’s more prestigious in this nation than the President ? Via DailyMail : Several exclusive golf clubs in New York wouldn’t let President Barack Obama play on their courses on Labor Day weekend, it emerged on Wednesday. The Trump National Golf Club, the Winged Foot Golf Club and the Willow Ridge Country Club all turned down Obama, NBC 4 New York reports. The news station says the president’s advance team gave courses only a day or two of notice that Obama would be in the area, and clubs may have rejected the White House’s request to protect their wealthy members from being inconvenienced during the holiday weekend. Membership dues at the swanky golf clubs run upward of $100,000 a year. NBC 4 says it learned of the president’s golf plans from sources who were informed of the calls made by Obama’s advance staff. The news station says it reached out to the clubs that were approached, but they declined to comment. Obama ended up golfing at his customary course on the grounds of the Fort Belvoir military installation in Virginia the next day. Whether they have an issue with his policies or his skin color…the president is the president! SMH.

The time for change is now. The organization has posted a list of demands as follows: National Demands: President Obama must “Do the Right Thing” and go to Ferguson to meet with local black and brown youth. Attorney General Eric Holder must also meet with local black and brown youth across the country who endure “Zero Tolerance” and “Broken Windows” policing. Ensure transparency, accountability, and safety in our communities by requiring front-facing cameras in police departments with records of racial discrimination by way of arrests, killings, and excessive force complaints. Police need consequences, too. Officers who discharge their weapon on an unarmed person should be suspended without pay pending further investigation. And their name and policing histories should be made available to the public. Right now, the officers who killed John Crawford are sitting at home on paid leave. Tanks and tear gas don’t ever belong in our communities or in the ownership of local police departments. Police should be representatives of the communities they serve, not militant. Community members should have more say, input during citizen review boards. National Guard Member Used Racial Slur Talking To CNN Producer “Never Know What Ferguson N-Words Will Do Via Rawstory reports: CNN host Don Lemon, who has spent recent days reporting from Ferguson, recalled on Tuesday that a member of the National Guard had called protesters the n-word. During a CNN town hall event about the racial divide in the U.S., an African-American member of the audience asked what safeguards could be put in place to prevent officers from overreacting when dealing with black men. The Black Sphere’s Kevin Jackson noted that putting body cameras on officers changed the dynamic in police stops. “If there’s a camera, he knows he’s got to check himself,” Jackson explained. “And if you know an officer has a camera, you also have to check yourself.” Lemon pointed out that body cameras could also make a certain “type of person” think twice before going into law enforcement in the first place. “I’m just going to be honest with you,” Lemon recalled. “Last night, one of my producers said that they — I won’t say if it’s a he or a she because I don’t want to give anyone a way — said that they came in contact with one of the members of the National Guard. And that they said, ‘You want to get out of here because you’re white. Because these n-words, you know, you never know what they’re going to do.’” “True story.
