WTF?? Wisconsin State Rep. Roger Rivard Says “Some Girls Rape Easy” In Regards To High School Teenager Sex Abuse Case

This guy…SMFH Wisconsin State Rep. Richard Rivard Makes Offensive Comment About Women’s Rape Via JSOnline A state representative is drawing heat for saying that his father had told him when he was young that “some girls rape easy” as a way to warn him that a woman could agree to sex but then later claim that it wasn’t consensual. Freshman Rep. Roger Rivard (R-Rice Lake) in December discussed a case with the Chetek Alert newspaper in which a 17-year-old high school senior was charged with sexual assault for having sex with an underage girl in the school’s band room. The newspaper quoted him as saying his father warned him, “Some girls rape easy” – meaning that after the fact they can change what they say about whether sex was consensual. On Wednesday, Rivard told the Journal Sentinel that the article did not provide full context of his comments and that his father’s exact words had been slightly different from how they appeared in the Chetek Alert. He told the Journal Sentinel that his father had advised him not to have premarital sex, and he took that seriously. “He also told me one thing, ‘If you do (have premarital sex), just remember, consensual sex can turn into rape in an awful hurry,’ ” Rivard said. “Because all of a sudden a young lady gets pregnant and the parents are madder than a wet hen and she’s not going to say, ‘Oh, yeah, I was part of the program.’ All that she has to say or the parents have to say is it was rape because she’s underage. And he just said, ‘Remember, Roger, if you go down that road, some girls,’ he said, ‘they rape so easy.’ Bruh, we get that some girls have tried to claim a false rape in the past, but surely there is a better way to express that than this.

Columbia, MD Residents Get Racist ‘C00n Hunt Court’ Street Name Changed After 40 Years Of Complaints!

Wouldn’t you be embarrassed every time someone asked you for your address? Seven months after starting a petition to rename their Columbia street, C00n Hunt Court, residents officially have their new street — April Wind Court. According to The Grio : “For more than 175 years, the word “c00n” represented racism and bigotry against African-American people. Whether those charged with the naming of the streets of Thunder Hill named Coon Hunt Court with cruel intention or honest mistake will remain a mystery. Today, that no longer matters,” April Wind Court resident Ambrose Lane Jr. said during Monday’s unveiling ceremony. “We come here today to right the wrong, to correct the mistake, to continue James Rouse’s vision and dream of an inclusive, neighborly, and multiracial Columbia community,” Lane Jr. said. Lane Jr., the son of a civil rights activist, was one of six residents living on the Oakland Mills street who, with the help of County Council member Calvin Ball, spurred the name change. “I am pleased to be part of creating a new chapter for this neighborhood and making it more inclusive. By working together, we were able to accomplish this efficiently and quickly,” Ball said. “I want to thank all the county departments, staff and the Planning Board — all of them made this reality.” In July, a petition to change the name was accepted by the county’s Department of Planning and Zoning. On Sept. 7, the Planning Board unanimously voted to approve the name change. Street names in Thunder Hill come from the titles of paintings by Andrew Wyeth, and although there was no “C00n Hunt,” there was a piece entitled “The Coot Hunter,” named for a type of bird found in Maine. Resident Khari Lane said watching the neighborhood rally around the change was motivating. “To finally have it done here in 2012, it’s more of a representation of how our culture is changing,” Lane said. County Executive Ken Ulman said his parents moved to Columbia to “raise a family in a community that embraced the values of diversity, acceptance and opportunity.” “The fact is, the street name “C00n Hunt Court,” does not represent those values,” Ulman said. “Your new name and your new identity in the community begins today free of negative racial connotations.” Sad it took more than 40 years to get this changed. President Obama and First Lady Michelle are all coupled up on the Nobember cover of EBONY Magazine! The 2012 Election is 30 days away, and the incumbent, President Barack Obama, and his wife, the First Lady Michele Obama gracefully cover the November issue of EBONY. In the cover feature, written by MSNBC political analyst Melissa Harris Perry, and in an open letter from The President to “African American Families,” the second term hopeful thoroughly outlines for voters what he’s done over the past four years to benefit the country at large, and specifically the African America community. The President ‘s points in the article hone in on Jobs, Health Care, Education, and Crime and Violence, to name a few. And, he makes his second term plan clear—continue to improve the economy, accessible health care, foster community sustainability via education, health care and stable families. Here are a few quotes from the cover story: On Jobs: “African Americans were hit especially hard by the recession…but over the past 30 months, businesses have created 4.5 million new jobs.” On Education: “We created the first-ever White House Initiative on Educational Excellence for African Americans.” On Health Care: “…the numbers of working poor who don’t have health care who are African American or Latino are higher than the general population…the 30 million people who are going to be able to get health care for the first time…are going to be African Americans.” What do you think? Will this help his case for addressing African American issues?

Epic Twitter Fail! Grand Ole Opry Accidentally Tweets Racist Hashtag!

We’re told this was an accident… but the Grand Ole Opry sent out a tweet to welcome Darius Rucker (you know…the former Hootie and The Blowfish singer turned Country Music Star), and they ended up looking pretty racist after you took a second look at the tweet. Somehow the Ole Opry’s PR peeps forgot there’s a 140 character rule on twitter and their #OpryNights got cut off. They basically ended up looking wrong and racial: LLS…whoops! We’d like to think this was all an accident but either way, they look like some good ole boys who love God’s country! Images via twitter/WENN

You Lie! The 5 Biggest Lies Money Mitt Told During The First Presidential Debate

President of the Pipe Dreams 5 Lies Mitt Romney Told During The First Presidential Debate While President Obama didn’t exactly bring his A game for the first Presidential debate that took place earlier this week, Republican Presidential candidate Mitt Romney brought his ‘F’ game……F as in full of isht. The good folks over at Rolling Stone Magazine pulled together this list of lies Money Mitt told during the debate: 1. “I don’t have a $5 trillion tax cut.” Romney flatly lied about the cost of his proposal to cut income-tax rates across the board by another 20 percent (undercutting even the low rates of the Bush tax cuts). Independent economists at the Tax Policy Center have shown that the price tag for those cuts is $360 billion in the first year, a cost that extrapolates to $5 trillion over a decade. 2. “I will not reduce the taxes paid by high-income Americans.” Romney has claimed that he will pay for his tax cuts by closing a variety of loopholes and deductions. The factual problem? Romney hasn’t named a single loophole he’s willing to close; worse, there’s no way to offset $5 trillion in tax cuts even if you get rid of the entire universe of deductions for the wealthy that Romney has not put off the table (like the carried interest loophole or the 15 percent capital gains rate.) The Tax Policy Center report concludes that Romney’s proposal would create a “net tax cut for high-income tax payers and a net tax increase for lower- and or middle-income taxpayers.” Moreover, some of Romney’s tax cuts are micro-targeted at American dynasties, particularly his proposal to eliminate the estate tax, which would reduce his own sons’ tax burden by tens of millions of dollars. 3. “We’ve got 23 million people out of work or [who have] stopped looking for work in this country.” Romney is lying for effect. The nation’s crisis of joblessness is bad, but not 23 million bad. The official figure is 12.5 million unemployed. An additional 2.6 million Americans have stopped looking for jobs. How does Romney gin up his eye-popping 23 million figure? He counts more than 8 million wage earners who hold part-time jobs as also being “out of work.” 4. Obamacare “puts in place an unelected board that’s going to tell people ultimately what kind of treatments they can have.” Romney is reviving Sarah Palin’s old death panels lie here. Obamacare does establish an Independent Payment Advisory Board to help constrain the growth of Medicare spending. The body has no authority to dictate the practices of the private insurance marketplace. And the law also makes explicit that this body is banned from rationing care or limiting medical benefits to seniors. 5. “Pre-existing conditions are covered under my plan.” In the biggest whopper of the night, Romney suggested that his health care proposal would guarantee coverage to Americans with pre-existing conditions. This is just not true. Under Romney, if you have a pre-existing condition and have been unable to obtain insurance coverage or if you have had to drop coverage for more than 90 days because you lost your job or couldn’t afford the premiums, you would be shit out of luck. Insurance companies could continue to discriminate and deny you coverage, as even Romney’s top adviser conceded after the debate was over. Loud and wrong, Mitt. Loud and wrong.

For Discussion: Did Obama Blast Money Mitt Too Late In The Game?

POTUS gave the confident rebuttal we all expected last night…but after the Debate’s were over. And while he came back with fighting words, many of us are still talking about his lackluster performance and wondering what the hell happened? According to The Huffington Post , Barack came back with fighting words during a post-debate rally and Robney’s campaign smacked it down as “damage control”. Looking for a quick recovery from a disappointing debate, President Barack Obama questioned the identity of the “real” Mitt Romney on Thursday, suggesting his Republican rival had not been candid about his policy positions while on stage. “Gov. Romney may dance around his positions but if you want to be president, you owe the American people the truth,” Obama said Obama said that when he reached the debate stage “I met this very spirited fellow who claimed to be Mitt Romney. But it couldn’t have been Mitt Romney,” Obama said, adding that the “real Mitt Romney has been running around the country for the last year promising $5 trillion in tax cuts that favor the wealthy. The fellow on stage last night said he didn’t know anything about that.” The president also accused Romney of misrepresenting past statements on education and outsourcing. In tough comments, the president said Romney “does not want to be held accountable … because he knows full well that we don’t want what he’s selling.” Obama panned Romney’s suggestion during the debate that one way to pare back federal spending is to cut the subsidy for PBS, which airs “Sesame Street.” Romney said he likes PBS and “I love Big Bird,” but said the country couldn’t afford to keep borrowing money from China to pay for things like that. “When he was asked what he’d actually do to cut the deficit and reduce spending, he said he’d eliminate funding for public television. That was his answer. I mean thank goodness somebody is finally getting tough on Big Bird. It’s about time,” Obama joked. “We didn’t know that Big Bird was driving the federal deficit. But that’s what we heard last night. How about that? Elmo, too?” LLS…Barack’s got jokes. Think POTUS learned his lesson with this fool and all of his shady azz personalities? We’re pretty sure that’s what threw him off last night and he’ll shut Robney down October 16th. Images via WENN
