In Wednesday afternoon’s round-up of news briefs, Ed Helms may take a Vacation of his own. 1962 classic What Ever Happened to Baby Jane may get a re-make. And casting news for Toby Maguire and Kirsten Dunst. Channing Tatum In Talks for Evel Knievel Pic The Magic Mike star is negotiating to star and produce in a film about daredevil Evel Knievel who became a household name in the 1970s for his high-profile motorcycle jumps, THR reports . Ed Helms Negotiating to Star in Vacation Reboot Helms is in talks to star in the reboot of the ’80s original, playing Rusty Griswold who is now all grown up and taking a family vacation of his own. John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are directing the project, THR reports . Walter Hill to Take On What Ever Happened to Baby Jane Remake Hill is spearheading a re-make of the 1962 Bette Davis and Joan Crawford classic What Ever Happened to Baby Jane . Hill will write the script and direct, Deadline reports . Kirsten Dunst Boards Two Faces of January She joins Viggo Mortensen and Oscar Isaac in the European-produced thriller. Directed by Drive writer Hossein Amini, the story centers on a con man who kills a Greek policeman possibly by accident. His wife (Dunst) and an American tutor (Isaac) help him and the three flee Athens to the Greek islands and then Istanbul, Variety reports . Tobey Maguire Joins Jason Reitman’s Labor Day Maguire has joined the cast of the feature, which Reitman is directing, joining Kate Winslet, Josh Brolin, J.K. Simmons, Brooke Smith, Gattlin Griffith, and Brighid Fleming. Based on the book by Joyce Maynard, the story revolves around a 13 year-old boy from New Hampshire who learns important “life-lessons” over a five-day Labor Day weekend. Maguire will play the adult version of the boy, Deadline reports .

Justin Bieber 911 Call: Paparazzi on My Tail!

Justin Bieber was pulled over on Friday and cited for excessive speeding . It’s not exactly his first traffic violation , either. But there is another side to the reckless story, as witnesses confirm Bieber was being trailed by multiple members of the paparazzi at the time of his ticket. In an attempt to curtail the chase, he even dialed 911 not long after receiving his punishment. “I have like five cars following me,” Bieber told the operator. “”They’re the ones that are driving recklessly now, I’m just trying to like not have them be on my tail right now.” The funniest part of the exchange? When Bieber tries explain the kind of car he’s driving (“Ummm… a Fisker”), which actually invokes a giggle from the woman on the other end. If only she knew to whom she was actually speaking, huh? Fifty Shades of Grey was spawned by Edward-Bella Twilight fan fiction, so it’s little surprise that the EL James novel has spawned … a viral online musical! Okay, this still comes out of nowhere. The parody below is an amalgam of 50 Shades reactions: a housewife who adores the S&M “mommy porn” series, a feminist who hates it, a the guy who hates it … or the fact that he really loves it deep down. He seems a little conflicted. It’s pretty spot-on … except that no one would ever call it “well-written”:

Sucker Punch Star Jena Malone Takes on Nude Hunger Games Role [PIC]

You may remember Jena Malone as mental patient/burlesque artiste Rocket from Sucker Punch (2011)- though if you’re a Mr. Skin member, you’re probably more familiar with her nude roles in The Messenger (2009) and The Go-Getter (2007). After a record-breaking box office weekend where Ted (2012) shattered the record set by The Hangover (2009) for the best opening for an original R-rated comedy ever and Magic Mike (2012) moonwalked its way into a tidy $41 million (not bad for a movie with a $7 million budget), we here at Skin Central can draw only one conclusion: PG-13 is passe. Long live the hard R! Speaking of hard, box office reports are interesting and all, but if that’s what you wanted you would have subscribed to Variety, right? Snoop Dogg Stopped For Pot Possession in Norway; World Gasps in Astonishment

Norway didn’t exactly roll out the red carpet for Snoop Dogg, stopping the rapper for pot possession. Fortunately, it didn’t throw the book at him either. Upon arriving at Oslo airport today in the country’s capital, Snoop was held by customs after a canine unit sniffed out a small amount of marijuana. Knock us over with a feather. This hasn’t happened since … January . Lucky for Snoop, Norway marijuana laws are lax; up to 15 grams is generally considered personal use and punishable by a fine of 5000 kroner ($827). So no criminal charges for the Doggfather, though he was also found to possess a large amount of cash exceeding legal limits and fined for that too. Total penalties: 52,000 kroner, or $8,600, which he paid – he was carrying massive amounts of cash after all – and then was sent on his way. Not a bad day for Norwegian customs officials or Snoop really. Customs officers who stopped him told the news outlet that he was polite throughout and they were not aware of who he was until he showed ID. Snoop Dogg, who was in Norway to perform as one of the headliners of the Hove Festival, was asked by VGTV why he was five hours late to the event. “Man, shut the f–k up,” he snapped, in big white shades emblazoned with his moniker. “I’m here… be happy I’m here and ask some real questions.” Point taken.

Fifty Shades of Grey Sparks Rise in S&M, Bondage, Rope Sales

Fifty Shades of Grey is a must-read for women everywhere. Apparently, the EL James novel is also making S&M and bondage gear a must-buy for some. The buzzed-about book has left unassuming New York women so feverish, they’ve been snapping up the tools and toys that the hunky Christian Grey favors. They’re even slipping into stores and asking for bondage material – the type of natural filament rope used in the trilogy – the New York Post reports. “Oh, we’ve been selling rope to women,” says Clifton Kahn, owner of Lexington Hardware on the Upper East Side. “I’d say tenfold more rope than usual.” “The women are definitely buying, and it’s still continuing.” Apparently tying someone up isn’t expensive. The store’s most popular item is soft-cotton “clothes line” rope, which retails at a bargain $5 for 50 feet. Tarzian Hardware in Park Slope, Brooklyn, has also seen the trend. “It’s usually men buying rope, but women, they’ve been coming in the last few months,” the manager told the newspaper. “I’ve actually read the book. So when the women began buying rope, it was kind of like, ‘Hmmm, that does seem unusual.’” While New Yorkers act out their S&M fantasies, casting the movie roles of Christian and Anastasia has become an online fantasy game of sorts this spring. Of course, there has been a lot of things that went on last year that I had to get through and overcome. I was doing this movie and they asked me if I wanted to write an end-title song for the movie and I was like, ‘I know exactly what I want to say.’ I was really kind of dying to write another song at that point.
