So Sad: DC Teen Boy Shot And Killed For His $220 Jordan Sneakers

Nike Retro Air Jordan 11 Basketball Sneakers Washington, DC Teen Shot and Robbed Of His New Jordan Sneakers This is sad… Mother of a teen slain in Washington, DC thinks his life was taken over a pair of sneakers. According to the Washington Post,  a gunman shot James Anthony Smith on a basketball court at the Frederick Douglass Community Center. He was found a block away, on a street, shoeless. He died less than two hours later at a hospital. The teen boys’ mother, who gifted him the $220 pair of shoes early to her son, says he was murdered over his sneakers. “He was an all-American kid,” said his mother, who works at a day-care center. “He loved his red shoes. He loved basketball. He loved his computer games. . . . I can’t believe he was killed, all over a pair of shoes.” James was a Ballou High School sophomore and only got to enjoy his new shoes for four days after his mother splurged on them. So far, no arrests have been made in the case.

Update: What Debt? Offset Says AEG Loan Part Of $10 Million Tour Deal

Prince Williams/ATLPics.net Rapper Speaks Out About Deal With AEG Presents After Our Report Offset is giving his side of the story following our report that the rapper was in debt to a major music performance company. Offset called into Atlanta radio DJ Jazzy McBee of Streetz 94.5 Wednesday, and said that he has a $10 million touring deal with AEG Presents, and did not mention owing them money. “This is real white folks,” he told McBee. “I’m in contracts with them bro. They just called my phone, tripping. That’s how I even saw that. They called me tripping.” He said that AEG was concerned about the news coming out. “They’re like, ‘Why is there bad media about us? We never got into an altercation with you any kind of way. We gave y’all what y’all want, and all that. This s**t is causing trouble, with my company and s**t.’” However, Offset’s explanation doesn’t completely jibe with the UCC Financial Statement AEG Presents filed in Gwinnett County Court regarding the deal. The document lists Offset, whose real name is Kiari Cephus, as a “debtor,” and AEG Presents LLC as a “secured party” to Offset’s “present and future right, title and interest in and to all of the following property, now owned or hereafter acquired: all accounts, general intangibles (e.g. software, payment intangibles, trademarks and copyrights), documents and contracts and all proceeds, replacements, substitutions, products, accessions, and increases of any thereof, in any form, as those terms are or may hereafter be defined in the California Commercial code from time to time in effect.”

Exclusive! Laura Govan Wept: Judge Lowers Gilbert Arenas’ Monthly Child Support From $20K To $7K

Gilbert Arenas & Laura Govan’s Child Support Fight Laid Bare A judge who agreed to lower Gilbert Arenas’ monthly child support to baby mama Laura Govan found that neither one had fully disclosed exactly how much money they made. LA Family Court Judge Mark A. Juhas, who presided over Arenas’ motion to lower his child support to Govan, found that Govan’s income and expense statements to the court were “not reliable,” and in actuality, she’d made $40,000 from the reality show “The Next Fifteen,” $500 a month from the website “Shop In Real Life,” $9,000 for promoting “Flat Tummy Tea,” and $500 for “showing her face” on social media, according to court docs obtained by BOSSIP. The judge agreed with Arenas to lower his monthly child support from a reported $20,000 a month to $7,198 after he said his $719,000 a month income went down to zero when he lost his NBA contract. The judge also decided not to compute Arenas’ income from real estate sales and rentals. However, the judge also ruled not to make the new child support amount retroactive to when Arenas filed for the modification in Oct. 2016, deciding that Arenas’ financial docs for the court “were not full and complete, nor fully accurate.” “It is the respondent’s burden to demonstrate a change in circumstances and completely show what his actual income is,” the judge’s ruling read.“Respondent cannot fail to disclose his income and receive full retroactivity.” Govan and Arenas’ child support battle was laid bare in court docs that were submitted as part of Arenas’ defamation suit against the mother of his four kids. Govan appeared in court Sept. 13 for a hearing on exactly how much money she has in order to pay a $110,000 judgment to Arenas after he won a case that accused her of leaking false info to a blog alleging that Arenas infected her with STDs. Govan also has to pay to send the kids to private school, a cost that Arenas had previously paid, according to court docs. The judge said it was “inappropriate” for Arenas to keep paying the kids tuition on his own, and Govan had a responsibility to support their kids outside of child support, like getting a job. We reached out to attorneys for both Arenas and Govan for comment.

Exclusive: Mary J. Blige & Kendu Owe $1.7 Million

R&B Diva And Estranged Husband Facing Money Trouble Mary J. Blige and her soon-to-be-ex husband Kendu Isaacs may be in the process of getting a divorce, but they are still joined at the hip when it comes to money matters. That’s because the exes have been accused of owing nearly $2 million. The Internal Revenue Service last week slapped the one time couple with a federal tax lien for $1.7 million in back taxes. In total, the feds said their couple – who are in the midst of a bitter divorce – are in the hole to the tune of $1,764,724, according to public records obtained by BOSSIP. The IRS doesn’t mess around when it comes to collecting debts, so Mary and Kendu could face seizure of their homes, cash or other assets in order to pay the bill. Mary has hit the road and is in the midst of a national tour to bring in money after a judge ordered her to pay Kendu some $30,000 a month in temporary child support so he can get back on his feet. She said her husband – who was also her manager – cheated on her and misappropriated more than $400,000 of her money on dubious “business expenses.” However, this isn’t the first time that Mary has apparently single handedly pulled the pair out of a financial hole. Last year, the “Not Gon’ Cry” singer cleared a tax debt to the state of New Jersey for $166,292 as well as $30,915 to the state in 2013, according to public records. And in 2007, records show that Blige coughed up $1.9 million to settle another IRS tax debt.
