Rolling Stone’s Dzhokhar Tsarnaev cover story has inspired an ever-growing list of boycotts among retail outlets, including now by 7-Eleven stores. The chain is joining the outrage at Rolling Stone , which put Dzhokhar Tsarnaev on the cover with a piece on his life leading up to the Boston bombing. A rep for 7-Eleven, Inc. says that it “will not sell the August 1 issue of the Rolling Stone magazine” inside any of its 1,700 company-operated stores. There are another 5,900 franchised stores, and the rep says they’ll also urge those franchise owners to pull the issue spotlighting the alleged terrorist. CVS, Walgreens, and Stop & Shop have also boycotted the issue. What do you think of the controversial Rolling Stone cover? Why not? He’s topical and interesting … What a disgrace. View Poll »
Anthony Bourdain – who was on to Paula Deen before the rest of the world was on to Paula Deen – has come out with some VERY harsh words for Justin Bieber. The celebrity chef can stand for many things… but Bieber dared to disrespect a restaurant kitchen in a disgusting video from last year that’s gone viral, leading Bourdain to shred the singer apart on Twitter. “The chef should have put his foot up this young punk’s ass,” Bourdain said of the peeing incident caught on tape , adding: “My dishwasher ain’t cleaning that up, squirrel balls!” The Travel Channel star went on to bash Bieber’s career prospects, Tweeting: “Looking forward to seeing him open for Menudo at the State Fair – in about ten years.” And he concluded his rant with the following hilarious zinger: “In a preemptive strike, I plan to tell my daughter that Justin Beiber tortures puppies.” Sadly, the way Justin is going these days, that might not even be a lie in the near future.
Boston Marathon bombing suspect Dzhokhar Tsarnaev appeared in court today, pleading not guilty to 30 offenses including use of a weapon of mass destruction . In his first public appearance since being arrested on April 19, Tsarnaev leaned toward a microphone and said, “Not guilty,” in a Russian accent. The defendant then said not guilty repeatedly about a half-dozen more times. Tsarnaev Arrives at Court It’s not clear when he will face trial, or if he will eventually change his plea. Federal prosecutors are weighing whether to pursue the death penalty for the 19-year-old Tsarnaev, yet it seems highly unlikely that they would not. Authorities say he and an older brother, Tamerlan Tsarnaev, planted two bombs, which killed three people and wounded more than 260 at the marathon. The four days after the April 15 attack culminated in an an epic manhunt. His older brother was killed three days later following a shootout with police. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev was later found hiding in a boat in a suburban backyard.

Sarah Cook, an ardent supporter of the Free Dzhokhar Tsarnaev movement , explained Monday why the accused terrorist is, like, totally innocent. Her comments, claims, excuses and rationalizations on TMZ Live must be heard to be believed … and even then you might not believe them. Sarah Cook Interview Cook, one of MANY teenage girls devoted to proving Dzhokhar Tsarnaev’s “innocence” online, fervently believes the Boston bombing suspect is innocent. How could she possibly think that? Well, for one, the “mainstream media” is distorting the facts. Plus he was unarmed in that boat, and trying to profess his innocence to cops (yeah right). And the best argument of all? A pressure cooker, which was used as part of the bomb that killed three people and injured 260, is ” way too heavy ” to carry around in a backpack. Your standard pressure cooker weighs around 30 pounds. Even if Jahar’s preferred pressure cooker model weighed double that, for argument’s sake, a 19-year-old dude could lug it around without a problem. So much for that Boston bombing conspiracy theory . As for Sarah Cook and her delusional Tumblr and Twitter cohorts who have nothing better to do, we recommend a good school psychologist ASAP.
Three more suspects have been taken into custody in the Boston Marathon bombings, city police said in a surprising development Wednesday. The Boston Police made the announcement in a tweet this morning. Offering no details, they said more would soon follow. Police spokeswoman Cheryl Fiandaca confirmed the tweet but referred all questions to the FBI. Three people were killed and more than 260 injured on April 15. Suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev died in a gunfight with police three days later. His brother, Dzhokhar Tsarnaev , was captured and is in a hospital prison. It was widely believed that the brothers acted alone in plotting and carrying out the terrorist attack, so the basis for the new arrests should be very interesting. Story developing …
A body pulled from the water just offshore in a Providence, R.I., park was that of Sunil Tripathi, a Brown University student missing since last month. Tripathi was identified through a forensic dental exam. He was just 22. A cause of death has not been determined, but the news puts an end to the mystery of his disappearance, which became doubly painful for his family. Amateur online sleuths wrongly identified him as a possible suspect in the Boston Marathon bombings. Of course, this turned out not to be the case. Tripathi’s family, of Bryn Mawr, Pa., said they were overcome with grief but grateful for the outpouring of support relatives got over the last month. “As we carry indescribable grief, we also feel incredible gratitude,” the Tripathi family said in a statement on a Facebook page set up to help find Tripathi. “We extend our thanks for the words of encouragement, for your thoughts, your hands, your prayers, and the love you have so generously shared.” Saddened, worried and confused by his vanishing, Tripathi’s family had been searching for him since mid-March with help from the FBI and fellow students. The student, who went by Sunny, had “been going through a difficult time.” His sister, Sangeeta, said he left his phone, wallet and belongings in his apartment near campus and simply disappeared. He was on leave from Brown. Last week, chatter on Reddit and 4Chan indicated that Sunil Tripathi may have been one of two suspects in the April 15 Boston Marathon bombings. Se some thought he resembled one of the people in photos released by the FBI. That person later turned out to be 19-year-old Dzhokhar Tsarnaev . Reddit later apologized for fueling “online witch hunts and dangerous speculation which spiraled into very negative consequences for innocent parties.” R.I.P. Sunny.
DMX is not happy with how he was portrayed on OWN Network’s Iyanla: Fix My Life. In fact, he wants to have the episode yanked from the air and says he may sue. DMX Interview The rapper says he appeared with the understanding that the show would focus on his addiction to women, but instead it went in a different direction. Namely, the oft-troubled Ruff Ryders rapper’s drug abuse problems and its collateral damage, including his estranged relationship with his son. “Iyanla did not ‘fix’ DMX’s life just made his image worse, and does not have DMX’s personal written consent to use the footage,” X’s rep said in a statement. DMX also talked to TMZ about the incident, and was even more blunt. “Iyanla set the whole thing up to make me look bad for ratings,” he said. That lady is toxic … My last words to her were that she can suck my d**k and she still can.” Well, that explains how he feels about the matter. Iyanla Vanzant issued on open letter to X, telling him to get some help, and urging him to live “a clean life.” He claims her treatment of him was anything but.
Monday saw Dzhokhar Tsarnaev charged with using a weapon of mass destruction, but officials aren’t focused exclusively on the suspect in custody. Katherine Russell Tsarnaev, the wife of deceased Boston bombing suspect Tamerlan Tsarnaev, is wanted for questioning by federal authorities. The widow says she learned her husband and brother-in-law were the accused Boston Marathon bombers the same way as most Americans: on TV. A lawyer for Katherine, also the mother of Tamerlan’s 3-year-old daughter, Zahara, claims she had no clue her husband allegedly plotted the bombing. Federal investigators visited the 24-year-old at her parents’ home in North Kingstown, R.I. Her attorney says she is “decidinh how we want to approach this.” Tamerlan Tsarnaev , 26, died after a shootout with cops early Friday after officials say he and brother Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, fatally shot an MIT officer. Dzhokhar Tsarnaev, 19, remains in a Boston hospital, but is unable to speak – according to some sources, due to a self-inflicted throat wound. Dzhokhar was somewhat miraculously captured alive and in custody Friday night after a massive, city-wide manhunt that lasted nearly 24 hours. Authorities want to speak with Katherine as they are trying to piece together a motive, and whether the pair had ties to any Islamic terror cells. The brothers, ethnic Chechens, left Russia with their family in 2002 and became legal residents of the U.S. Dzhokhar later became a U.S. citizen. Investigators are focusing on the six months Tsarnaev spent last year in the predominantly Muslim provinces of Dagestan and Chechnya. They want to know if he was radicalized by the militants in the area who have waged a low-level insurgency against Russian security forces for years. The suspects’ parents moved back to Russia.
