Just moments ago, the FBI released photos of two suspects in Monday’s Boston Marathon bombings and asked for the public’s help identifying them: FBI Agent Richard DesLauriers said at a news conference that one these two suspects is believed to have planted the devices near the finish line of the race. The FBI says both men are considered armed and extremely dangerous. The explosions Monday killed three people and injured more than 180. Moments after the FBI posted pictures of actual suspects – not the rumored Boston bombing suspects reported earlier today – the agency’s website crashed. It’s unclear if either of these alleged suspects are the same individuals turned up by the Internet-led Reddit and 4Chan Think Tank suspect -finding boards. The images were released hours after President Barack Obama and first lady Michelle Obama attended a service at a Roman Catholic cathedral in Boston. Amid the day of mourning was the frenzied, ongoing investigation. The man Deslauriers called Suspect One at the press conference this afternoon is seen wearing a dark hat, while Suspect Two is wearing a white hat. Deslaurier said Suspect Two is believed to have set a backpack down in front of the Forum restaurant along the marathon route near Copley Square. Deslauriers said the two men appeared to be walking together along Boylston Street in the vicinity of the explosions, and are considered suspects. “We know the public will play a critical role in identifying and locating these individuals. Somebody out there knows these individuals,” Deslauriers said. If you know anything about the suspects, contact authorities. This is so fawking sad… 5 Year Old, 60 Year Old Remain In Critical Condition From Boston Marathon Blast Via NYDailyNews A 5-year-old boy caught in the Boston Marathon bombings is fighting for his life. The child is one of two patients still in critical condition following Monday’s attack, Dr. Peter Burke, chief of trauma surgery at Boston Medical Center, told the Boston Herald. The second critically injured patient is in his 60s. “This particular event was very much focused on the lower extremities, it seems,” Burke told the paper. The hospital performed seven life-saving amputations as a result of the attacks, and received 23 patients in total. Of those, 19 remain hospitalized. Doctors found a stomach-churning variety of concrete, wood, metal and plastic in the bodies of patients caught in the two blasts near the finish line of the 26.2-mile race. Burke told the newspaper eight patients would go under knife again Wednesday. “I will not be happy until they are home,’’ Burke said. “I will not be satisfied.” Image via AP

Who is the mystery man on the roof? That’s what Twitter and Boston bombing conspiracy theorists want to know in the wake of yesterday’s explosions. A photo credited to Suffolk University junior Dan Lampariello shows the instant of two Boston Marathon bombings that occurred near the finish line Monday. The photo, and with it Mystery Man on Roof, went viral. Lampariello told ABC News Monday “I was about 200 feet from the finish line … right in front of the Mandarin Hotel. My aunt was running in the marathon.” “We were out there to cheer her on. We thought maybe it was fireworks at first, but when we saw the second explosion we knew something was wrong.” As if the Internet weren’t going berzerk enough over blasts that killed at least three people and injured more than 170 more, many gravely, there’s this. Police say they have no suspects yet, and no individual or group has claimed responsibility for the attack, which only feeds interest in the MMOR. A lack of real leads – the alleged suspect in custody is not believed to have been involved, and his name has not been released – breeds speculation. Here’s what is happening on the investigative front: Last night, agencies raided a unit in a high-rise apartment on Ocean Drive in the seaside Boston suburb of Revere, according to local police officials. Several bags, including what appeared to be a large duffel bag, were removed from the scene. Details are scarce, but the search was related to the case. Boston police also issued a BOLO for a yellow Penske rental van that apparently attempted to access the race course area shortly before the blast. They are also looking for a “black man wearing a black hoodie and a black backpack” who was turned away from a secure area shortly before the bombings. As for Mystery Man on Roof? He could be the perpetrator of this senseless act of terrorism … or just a guy looking for an awesome vantage point for one of the city’s coolest events. Probably the latter … but don’t let logic stop you, Twitter.
