Report Shows Men Who Eat Bacon Produce Lower Quality Male Fluids A new medical study has resulted in some interesting findings regarding the connection between bacon consumption and high-quality skeet production. via Fox News Eating bacon can significantly lower a man’s sperm quality, Medical Daily reported. In a study presented at the American Society for Reproductive Medicine’s 2013 Annual Meeting in Boston, researchers from Harvard University gathered data from 156 men who were undergoing in vitro fertilization (IVR) with a partner. Each couple was asked questions about their diet, including how often they consumed processed meat, red meat, white meat, poultry, and fish. Overall, men who consumed more than half a portion of processed meats such as bacon each day had significantly lower levels of “normal” sperm, compared to men who ate less than half a portion of processed meats per day. So, this means all you jizz guzzlers out there better tell your man to put down that slab of swine if you’d like to keep the grade A skeet c(u)oming! ……Oh. And it also means you fellas might want to think about this if you’re trying to have kids.
Plenty of women, and dudes that go that way, feel a ways that Pharrell Williams married his longtime girlfriend, Helen Lasichanh, this past weekend. However, not much is really known about her–in Hip-Hop circles or anywhere else…. Continue
Hump is still out here takin’ Ls from Kimmy Cakes and she aint even know it Kris Humphries To Sell Kim Kardashian Engagement Ring For $500,000 One of the many hold ups during the seemingly endless divorce proceedings between NBA baller Kris Humphries and his now ex-wife Kim Kardashian was the battle over who would get to keep the engagement ring. Well, fast forward a few months after the divorce was finally settled, and while the dumped Hump ended up with the ring in the end, Kim looks to have still gotten the last laugh. via THG Kris Humphries confirms that he is indeed auctioning off the massive engagement ring he gave to interim wife Kim Kardashian back in 2011. There was buzz last month that the NBA player was planning on auctioning off the diamond stunner to the highest bidder at Christie’s in New York. Earlier today, Humphries rep finally confirmed the rumors. “The ring is indeed Kris’ property that he received through his marriage dissolution,” the rep said in a statement. “He has long-since moved on.” “Kris is very much looking forward to a successful auction at Christie’s and of course to returning to the court this upcoming NBA season as a Boston Celtic.” The Lorraine Schwartz custom 16-karat sparkler is valued between $300,000-500,000 even though it was bought for Kim Kardashian for $2 million. Christie’s still expects this “impressive” diamond and “property of a gentleman” to fetch over $500,000, a portion of which Kris will donate sale to charity. Dayyum homie. Hump can just add this to the massive pile of Ls that he’s already taken during this whole ordeal.
Don Jon, the first feature from Joseph Gordon-Levitt, is not like most films, but that helps make the actor’s debut behind the camera all the more charming. Gordon-Levitt directed, wrote and stars as a Jersey lothario, a regular, old-school, how-YOU-doin’ guy who happens to be a hardcore porn addict. Yes, he’s a man dedicated to family, friends, and church, yet develops unrealistic expectations from porn and works to find intimacy with a true love interest. Don Jon Trailer Can he and Barbara (Scarlett Johansson) live happily ever after? And does this romantic comedy (of sorts) flourish despite of (or because of) its unusual premise? Let’s see what the Don Jon reviews are saying … “While addiction may make Jon sound like a bummer, as played with great swagger and subterranean wit by the movie’s writer and director, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, this improbable charmer conveys convincingly triumphant braggadocio.” – The New York Times “Sure, it’s an obvious point and one that’s not new. Several recent films have dealt with the delicate subject of porn addiction, and the dehumanization that stems from it. But Gordon-Levitt enlivens Don Jon with such a sense of swagger, as a director, writer and actor, that the film feels fresh.” – Kansas City Star “Really, Don Jon could have – should have – gone on another 20 minutes. Then again, when was the last time you felt that about a romantic comedy? Or any movie? That Don Jon even disappoints a little at the end is a sign of how much it promises from the beginning. And how much potential its filmmaker clearly has.” – The New Jersey Star-Ledger “Johansson gives one of her best performances as the bossy, gum-chewing Jersey girl determined to change Jon into her image of a romantic hero. Tony Danza and Glenne Headly are hilarious as Jon’s parents. Gordon-Levitt proves he can act, write and direct with equal dexterity.” – USA Today “As writer and director, Gordon-Levitt succeeds in shaping a message about two colliding views of romance that are shaped by distinctly different media and cultural notions.” – The San Jose Mercury-News “Gordon-Levitt is savvy, as well, about our modern mediated culture: The TV screens braying in every room, the ads that use swimsuit models to sell hamburgers, the smartphone from which Jon’s sister never lifts her eyes unless absolutely necessary. Who can blame Jon for choosing the clickable fantasy over messy reality?” – The Boston Globe “Gordon-Levitt is wearing his heart on his sleeve for the audience to see … there is something wholeheartedly soul baring about the entire artistic process put forth by the filmmaker and star that it is riveting on so many levels.” – Movie Fanatic
Autumn is upon us and it’s growing a bit chilly in various parts of the country. But on the big screen, starting today, it’s Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs! 2! Yes, a sequel to the original hit – which was based on a wildly popular children’s book – is now in release at a theater near you. Should you take your kids to a showing? Check out the trailer below and then scroll down for a collection of movie reviews from critics around the nation: Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2 Trailer Honestly, anyone who can pull off a running joke about leeks that does not make you gag, and is in fact a silly delight, deserves props. – The Los Angeles Times It’s another brightly rendered effort, but, as the title indicates, a lot of the real creativity seems to have been used up the first time around. – The Boston Globe Sometimes so strange, colorful and wildly cute that it may end up becoming a “Yellow Submarine” for a new generation. – The New York Times There’s not a surprise or moment of tension to be found here, but the film is all energy and color that makes the discomfort of 3-D glasses seem worth it. – USA Today It’s cute. It’s funny. Kids will want the toys in a major way. And yet it slightly unsettles me precisely because of how strange the message is by the end of the film. – HitFix A second helping of sugar rush cinema, wholly dependent upon food puns and pretty colors whizzing by. But it’s the only chance for small children to drag parents to the movies until November, so knock yourself out, kiddies. – The Tampa Bay Times
Aaron Hernandez couldn’t be there for the Patriots season opener against the Buffalo Bills but his presence was felt nonetheless… Via NY Daily News reports : Dressed in orange jumpsuits painted with the surname “Hernandez” and the No. 81 on the backs, 10 Canadian men who identified themselves as corrections and police officers stood in Section 102 of Ralph Wilson Stadium on Sunday. They posed with Patriots and Bills fans alike, standing atop their bleacher seats in Row 15 below O.J. Simpson’s retired No. 32 marker in the team’s ring of honor. The men planned to wear the outfits to offer a Hernandez presence at the Patriots’ season opener as Hernandez, the former New England tight end, sat in his solitary cell at the Bristol County House of Correction back in Massachusetts as he awaits his murder trial. Hernandez, 23, was arrested for allegedly orchestrating the killing of Odin Lloyd, a 27-year-old landscaper who moonlighted as a linebacker on the Boston Bandits, a team in the New England Football League. Hernandez was arraigned on first-degree murder and five firearms charges in Superior Court Friday afternoon in Fall River, Mass. “He’s guilty,” Kevin Buchan said. “No two ways about it.” Hernandez was not allowed to watch the game, according to sheriff Tom Hodgson. “Absolutely not,” Hodgson said. “No way.” SMH… Do you think these guys went too far or is it an important reminder to society about all the dirt Hernandez was allowed to get away with as an NFL baller before his murderous acts finally caught up to him? As expected, former NFL star Aaron Hernandez pleaded not guilty to charges of first-degree murder and more in a Massachusetts court on Friday. Six times, a charge was read and six times, his plea was “Not guilty.” Hernandez pleaded not guilty to the murder of his friend, 27-year-old semipro football player Odin Lloyd, and five accompanying weapons charges. Today was his arraignment. His next hearing is October 9. Hernandez will seek bail on that date. Until then, he’ll remain held in a Bristol County correctional facility, where he has been since his arrest on June 26. A Bristol County District Court judge has ordered the athlete held without bail, citing the seriousness of the charges and the convincing evidence . Hernandez’s attorneys will attack the circumstantial evidence next month, but bail is unlikely with other investigations – with possible links to him – pending. Just the same, his lawyers said he will be “exonerated” and asked the public not to jump to conclusions based on “one-sided and untested” evidence. “In a sense, this is like the opening kickoff,” Hernandez lawyer Charles Rankin said after the arraignment, “and we have a long way to go before trial.” “We encourage everyone to keep an open mind. We feel confident when evidence is presented in a court of law, Aaron Hernandez will be exonerated.” Last month, prosecutors divulged that police are probing Hernandez’s possible ties to a double homicide in Boston in 2012 in which two men were killed. Then, in February 2013, a shooting in Florida took place and one of Hernandez’s friends said he shot him in the face and blinded him in one eye. That friend, Alexander Bradley, has filed a lawsuit that says the ex-New England Patriot shot him as they argued in a car, then dumped him in an alley to die. Hernandez was granted a stay in that case until criminal charges against him in Massachusetts – and any other possible jurisdiction – have been settled. Stay tuned.
Sad…. Mother And 3-Year-Old Daughter Simultaneously Diagnosed With Cancer A mother and her young daughter from Oregon are suffering through what has to be one of the most difficult things a family could ever go through as they were both recently diagnosed with different types of Cancer. via NBC News Summar Ruelle was in the best shape of her life when she got devastating news. The 35-year-old mother of two had just lost 60 pounds of stubborn baby weight via diet and rigorous exercise like kickboxing and running. Then in late August of last year, the Beaverton, Ore., mom discovered a mass in her left breast. A mammogram showed nothing but an ultrasound and subsequent tests told a different story: Summar had Stage IV breast cancer which had spread to her lymph nodes, spine, ribs, hips and collar bone. Careening from appointment to appointment, Summar suddenly found herself debating mastectomy, chemo and the removal of her ovaries with a clutch of strangers in white coats. But a week later, all that seemed insignificant to her. The Ruelles’ 3-year-daughter Sapphire, who’d been suffering from unexplained bruises and idiopathic fevers, had been to the doctor for some tests, as well, and the results were unthinkable. Sapphire had leukemia. “I was absolutely devastated,” says Summar, now 36. “It was like my diagnosis became nonexistent at that moment. I wanted to cancel everything – my surgery, my treatments. I wanted to forget all of that. I felt I needed to be there for her.” How horrible for this family to have to go through this! Summar also described some of what she and her daughter have suffered through so far. Shortly after both mom and daughter were diagnosed, “we were literally in surgery at the same time at two different hospitals,” says Summar. “But it was necessary. We didn’t have the luxury of time. I couldn’t waste any more time and she couldn’t have any delays. We had to both go forward.” “At one point, she didn’t think her hair was going to grow back until she was an adult,” says Summar. “She started crying and my mom explained that when she stopped her medicine, it would grow back. But that was tough for her, she asked about the hair a lot.” “Our scenario is so unique,” she says. “I haven’t found any moms in my position. There was another mother with a sick child but then the child passed away. It’s really tough.” This is just heartbreaking. Hopefully this family will stay strong and continue to stick together through this unimaginable ordeal. For more details and to read their entire story, you can click HERE .
