‘Jersey Shore’ Star Ronnie Recalls Losing His Virginity At 17

On Saturday’s ‘When I Was 17,’ everybody’s favorite juicehead remembers his first time. By Mawuse Ziegbe Ronnie Photo: MTV News We’ve seen “Jersey Shore” juicehead Ronnie get into a lot types of scrapes on the boardwalk, but as it turns out, he has always had a penchant for, ahem, outdoor activities. On an all-“Jersey Shore” episode of “When I Was 17,” which also features stories from Ron Ron’s girl Sammi and Staten Island native Vinny, Ronnie remembers the first time he had sex. “When I was 17 I lost my virginity,” Ronnie admits. Ronnie’s friend T.J. adds that the event happened in someone else’s ride, and that that person wasn’t aware of it — until now. “Ronnie lost his virginity in the back seat of my grandmother’s Camry,” T.J. reveals. “The worst part about that is that she still drives it, so I’m probably gonna catch crap for this.” “When you’re young, the place to have sex is in the car,” Ronnie rationalizes. The Bronx native explains the spur-of-the-moment nature of how everything went down. “It just happened randomly,” he says. “[I was] hanging out on the corner with my friend and some girl walks up to him and she’s like, ‘Your friend’s hot. I wanna hook up.’ We went to go find a nice quiet spot … literally down the block.” Although for Ronnie, where the hook-up happened didn’t really matter that much. “I’m about to get laid for the first time. I’m like, I’ll do it on the hood of the car right now, I don’t care,” he says. Even though it was his debut run knockin’ boots, Ron had an audience checking out the moment. “My friends were watching from the car behind me. They were like watching through the window and stuff like that,” he recalls. “We were looking, he had the windows down,” T.J. admits. “It was a pretty wild scene.” Ronnie also discusses his technique for making love in such a tight space. “I just pretty much did the head tuck. You tuck your head in between her head and her shoulders and you just like 1, 2, 3, 4. Like three pumps … and you’re done,” he says. “It’s awesome.” “When I Was 17” — this week featuring Ronnie, Vinny and Sammi — premieres Saturday at 11 a.m. ET/PT on MTV. Lauryn Hill Set To Perform String Of East Coast Concerts

The reclusive singer will hit the stage for stops in Boston, New York and Miami beginning December 20. By Rebecca Thomas Lauryn Hill Photo: Taylor Hill/Getty Images Lauryn Hill is inching closer to a comeback. At this summer’s Rock the Bells, the reclusive raptress emerged for four tour stops, giving front-to-back performances of her classic debut, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, almost a dozen years to the day after its release. Now, L-Boogie is set to meet her hungry public again with a grip of shows along the East Coast. According to Brooklyn Vegan , Hill will hit Boston, New York, and Miami for a string of shows beginning December 20. She’ll make stops at Brooklyn’s Music Hall of Williamsburg at the end of the month, and the Bowery Ballroom in New York City on New Year’s Day. The “Ex-Factor” singer will then resume the jaunt in the spring with a pair of performances in the Magic City as part of Miami’s Jazz in the Gardens Festival. Tickets for the first trio of shows went on sale on Friday (December 10); no additional dates have been announced. At this summer’s Rock the Bells, Hill chuckled when we asked her about a due date for fresh material, but told MTV News, “We’re getting closer. That’s all I can say.” The ex-Fugees frontwoman, who became something of a voice for a generation of pre-millennium girls drawn to her cerebral brand of rap&B, shunned the limelight not long after the jaw-dropping success of her debut. But in August, she remarked that the industry had changed in recent years, adding that she was feeling sparked by how eclectic music in the age of MP3s was sounding. “You got a lot of young talent out there,” Hill observed. “Because we don’t necessarily have the same sort of industry complex that used to exist, people don’t always give, I want to say, proper respect to. But they’re doing it in a really kind of unusual, unique and hard-core way.” Lauryn Hill tour dates, according to Brooklyn Vegan:

Is ‘The Town’ Oscar-Bound After Box-Office Win?

Brisk ticket sales, critical buzz make Ben Affleck’s Boston drama an Oscar hopeful. By Eric Ditzian Slaine, Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner and Owen Burke in “The Town” Photo: Warner Bros. “The Town” floated out of the Venice Film Festival on a cloud of Oscar buzz, and heading into the weekend, most box-office prognosticators expected Ben Affleck’s drama to win the #1 spot. But who could have predicted that “The Town” would net $23.5 million , a September record for Warner Bros.? Now there’s no doubting that the guy who once starred in “Gigli” and “Jersey Girl” has a serious Oscar hopeful on his hands. “Typically September releases turn out to be Oscar frauds,” said Jeff Bock, box-office analyst for Exhibitor Relations. “Not so with ‘The Town,’ as it has the reviews and b.o. to not only talk the talk, but walk the walk. Being #1 at the box office always helps the cause of any film, as it garners massive amounts of media attention.” Affleck’s Boston bank-robber tale is not only a contender for one of the 10 Best Picture nominations, but could land a nod in an acting category as well. “Either Jon Hamm or Jeremy Renner could easily end up in the Supporting Actor category,” said BoxOffice.com editor Phil Contrino, citing the film’s robust ticket sales. Another Boston-centric crime drama, “The Departed,” opened to similar numbers and critical acclaim in 2006. The Martin Scorsese film eventually nabbed five Oscar nominations, including Mark Wahlberg’s nod for Supporting Actor, and won four of them (including Best Picture and Best Director). Few would argue that Affleck’s movie will mirror the awards-season success of Scorsese’s, but as Contrino notes, “The Academy has a history of rewarding crime flicks that catch on in a major way and ultimately transcend their genre.” Oscar chances aside, what’s most remarkable about “The Town” is the fact that it made so much money with stars not nearly as high-profile as the ones in “Departed.” “Affleck, Renner and Hamm are certainly no [Leonardo] DiCaprio, [Jack] Nicholson, and [Matt] Damon,” Bock said. “That’s why the debut of ‘The Town’ is all the more impressive. Affleck achieved this opening on concept, not star power, which is becoming increasingly more potent in Hollywood of late.” Much credit is due to Warners’ marketing machine, which went to great lengths in TV ads to position “The Town” as more genre thriller than critical darling. “The ads punched up the proceedings by making the picture look (not just sound) like ‘The Departed’ and by using the Eminem song ‘Not Afraid,’ ” noted Brandon Gray of Box Office Mojo . Box-office success, of course, is not always a requirement for Oscar love. Just look at “The Hurt Locker,” which won Best Picture over “Avatar” this year despite an anemic box-office showing. When the new nominations arrive early next year, we should expect a similar grouping of “Hurt Locker”-style small fare and “Avatar”-esque blockbusters. “With 10 nominations for Best Picture, more than ever there are opportunities for smaller films and major blockbusters to be in the mix. One of those films is ‘Inception,’ which is a shoo-in for a Best Picture [nod],” Bock said. “This year we will see a mix of both types of films, but odds are, we won’t have a smaller film win the award two years in a row, since it’s never happened before ‘The Hurt Locker.’ ” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Town.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . ‘The Town’ Rules Supreme At The Weekend Box Office

Ben Affleck’s crime thriller wins the weekend, while M. Night Shyamalan’s return to horror fails to scare up a win. By Josh Wigler Slaine, Ben Affleck, Jeremy Renner and Owen Burke in “The Town” Photo: Warner Bros. The Box-Office Top Five #1 “The Town” ($23.8 million) #2 “Easy A” ($18.2 million) #3 “Devil” ($12.6 million) #4 “Resident Evil: Afterlife” ($10.1 million) #5 “Alpha and Omega” ($9.2 million) Last week, “Resident Evil: Afterlife” scored an easy first-place finish at the box office thanks to a dearth of other new competitors. But that wasn’t the case this past weekend, with brand-new films emerging from the likes of Ben Affleck, M. Night Shyamalan and Emma Stone to give last week’s reigning champion a run for its money. Leading the pack of this weekend’s new releases was “The Town,” Affleck’s second directing effort and already his most successful to date. Affleck also stars in the Boston crime thriller about a bank robber who falls in love with one of his hostages, much to the chagrin of his fellow criminals. “The Town” scored a $23.8 million haul from Friday through Sunday, earning enough in one weekend to eclipse the entire $20.3 million run of Affleck’s directorial debut, “Gone Baby Gone.” “Easy A” took second place with a strong $18.2 million. Starring Emma Stone, Cam Gigandet and Amanda Bynes, director Will Gluck’s modern retelling of “The Scarlet Letter” was shot on a modest budget of $8 million, with its weekend performance already pushing it $10.2 million past the profit line. M. Night Shyamalan’s return to the horror genre with “Devil” wasn’t enough to scare moviegoers into theaters. “Devil,” the first entry in the “Night Chronicles,” managed a mere $12.5 million debut despite early positive buzz and a clear marketing push. “Alpha and Omega,” Lionsgate’s newest animated family film, about a pack of wolves, scored $9.2 million to land in fifth place. Last week’s “Resident Evil” held on to a top five spot with a $10.1 million performance. Upcoming Releases Zack Snyder gets animated with “Legend of the Guardians: The Owls of Ga’Hoole,” while Michael Douglas assumes the role of Gordon Gekko once again in “Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Town,” “Easy A” and “Devil.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . The Tea Party … a history lesson

Dear Tea Party , Do you know what the Boston Tea Party was really about? Do you know what your party is really about? The Boston Tea Party had nothing to do with taxes being raised. Taxes were not raised at all. In fact, taxes were waved, lowering the cost of tea. The British upset colonists by lowering the cost of tea. They upset colonial business men who had stakes in colonial tea companies, or who feared that the British would make similar moves with other commodities. What happened at the Boston Tea Party raised the cost of tea for colonists. If you really wanted to be true to your name, you would head down to your local gas station and pour all the foreign gas on the ground, you would go to your nearest Ikea and steal all the screws from furniture kits, and you would head over to your Walmart and burn it down. You would try to raise import taxes, forcing Americans to pay more for everyday goods, so as to give American factories and workers a level playing field with those in China. You won’t do these things though, because you are just puppets. You are being used to stop any change in any direction, left or right, because an ineffective government is good for business. So, in a way, The Tea Party is a perfect name, but not for the reasons you think. Thanks, via chuckmccarthy.com and http://figrd.blogspot.com added by: figgdimension
