The Duggar clan is unlike just about any other family on television. Obviously, with 19 siblings, they’re much larger than any other famous brood, and while that may be what attracted viewers in the first place, it’s not what keeps them tuning in. No, to understand why Jim Bob, Michelle, and their children have become such subjects of fascination (and, in some cases, derision), one must examine their unique family dynamic. On television, we generally only see the sunny side of life on the Duggar compound, and viewers might be left with the impression that the siblings get along with one another and their parents at all times. Of course, that’s simply not the case. Jim Bob clashes with his daughter’s husbands to the point that he’s been unable to keep the conflicts out of tabloid headlines. As for the siblings that keep fans tuning into Counting On … well, they may do a better job of hiding it, but it seems they butt heads just as hard. In fact, fans have gone so far as to dub one Duggar girl the “fundie Regina George,” in reference to the famous Mean Girls villain. Due to a take-charge attitude that some viewers interpret as domineering or manipulative, Jessa Duggar has been dubbed “the mean Duggar.” Most fans don’t point to any one incident in particular as evidence, but instead claim that Jessa is simply ruder and less sympathetic than her sisters. “Sorry not sorry I really have no tolerance for Jessa,” an anonymous commenter wrote on the Duggars Facebook page this week. “She’s a mean girl and on the show she tries to hog up most of the conversation and likes everything centered around her. More Jana and less Jessa please.” But if specifics are what you’re after, there have been plenty of incidents over the years that have led fans to the conclusion that Jessa isn’t the kindest soul on the compound. For starters, we’ve seen Jessa exploit Jana Duggar on multiple occasions, often corralling her older sister into performing childcare and duties and household repairs. Jessa has admitted to Counting On cameras that it’s a pattern of behavior that dates back to her early childhood. “I think as I started to get a little bit older, I also had a very strong personality so I would sometimes protest the ideas that [Jana] had,” she said on one episode. “She’d be like, ‘We’re going to do this,’ and I’d be like, ‘No we’re not.'” Some fans believe that Jessa’s vanity is her greatest sin, and they point to incidents such as the time she attempted to steal the spotlight following Amy Duggar’s wedding as proof. Just one day after the ceremony, a collection of never-before-seen photos from Jessa’s wedding appeared online. “We all had such a wonderful time at Amy’s wedding,” the official Duggar facebook page stated. “All of this excitement has caused Jessa to pull out her pictures from her wedding and post 100 of them on her website.” Many fans thought it was a transparently passive-aggressive move. There are several more incidents, such as the time that Jessa bragged on Instagram that a stranger paid for her order at Starbucks as part of the “pay it forward” movement that was taking place at the time. Asked if she returned the favor by paying for the next customer’s order, Jessa did not reply, and she eventually just deleted the post. But the worst allegations have to do with the fiery rhetoric Mrs. Seewald uses on social media. Jessa has compared abortion to the Holocaust and gleefully informed her followers that they’ll soon be burning in hell. Kailyn Lowry has a lot on her plate these days. Over the summer, she became a mother of three, as well as a college grad. In addition to her role on Teen Mom 2 , Kail currently has several projects in the works, including a new TV show and a collaboration with former husband Javi Marroquin , in which both exes will pen a book offering their account of their highly-publicized divorce. Father Beats 17-Year-Old Daughter and Boyfriend With Hammer Soruth Ali attacked his 17-year-old daughter and her boyfriend with a hammer after he discovered them in the house having sex. The father attacked the pair after he heard noises coming from her bedroom on August 21, and has now been jailed for 14 months after he admitted to actual bodily harm and common assault. The 42-year-old’s daughter is in police protection after the incident and has now been placed in care to keep her away from her “very religious and very controlling” father. Not only is he religious and controlling, but it was found out after he was sentenced at Bolton Crown Court that Ali had served seven years in 1995 for the rape of a 15-year-old girl when she was in her school uniform…. According to testimonies heard in court, Ali was woken up at 5am by noises coming from his daughter’s bedroom and opened the door to find her and boyfriend James Martin in bed together. He then grabbed a hammer and hit Martin over the head, after that, he punched and kicked his daughter Fathema before dragging her out of her bedroom by the hair while her family begged him to stop. In a statement to police, Fathema claimed she was forced into living two lives, one for her strict Islamic father at home and another outside the house. The court heard that on the night of the incident, Fathema snuck her boyfriend in the house thinking her parents were away, but when they returned he hid in her bedroom for the night. Ali has been banned from contacting his daughter for three years under the terms of a restraining order.

Is anyone else a little alarmed by how fast Amber Portwood’s new relationship is moving? Because you really, really should be. Sure, this new guy, Andrew Glennon , seems nice enough, and at least he has a job. Plus, as far as we know, he doesn’t have a slew of secret children he refuses to support. What we’re saying is that at this point, he seems miles better than Matt Baier, and that’s definitely a good thing. But the fact remains that Amber has never, ever been in a healthy relationship. Not ever. She was with Gary Shirley for a while, and they may win the crown for the most toxic relationship in Teen Mom history. After that, she dated that guy she met at the Walmart who later, on their first date, revealed that he’d just been released from prison and that meeting her was the best day of his life. She missed out on dating for a little while when she went to jail herself, but after she was released, she promptly began dating Matt. It’s all bad, and honestly, we kind of have to automatically question any guy who would think dating her right now would be a good idea. So sorry about it, Andrew. Luckily for us and our hobby of boyfriend judging, Amber and Andrew just did their first interview together as a couple. So let’s check it out and figure out what’s wrong with this guy! To start, Amber confirmed what we already knew: they met earlier this summer while she and Matt were filming a new season of Marriage Boot Camp. “He didn’t really know who I was and we didn’t talk on the show because, you know, he would get in trouble, and I would have gotten in trouble,” she explains. “But I didn’t even know that he even liked me! It just simply was he had a little crush on me.” Red flag number one: because seriously, can you imagine how much of a hot mess Amber must have been on Marriage Boot Camp? And he developed a crush then? Amber says that two weeks after they finished filming — so mid-July — he reached out to her. “We decided that we wanted to be friends at first because we were just having so much fun talking with each other and, you know, then when he came out to hang out, we just had even more fun together, so that’s just kind of how it started.” Red flag number two: this is exactly how Matt worked his claws into her. He came to “hang out” and never left. Andrew says that when he came to Indiana to see her, “It was definitely butterflies there , but again, as we started talking, strangely I felt so comfortable, which was amazing.” Amber claims that “We’re going slow and we’re just trying to be smart about everything, which is good to find somebody on your level like that.” “I think we just kind of fell into this groove of really enjoying life with each other for a while, so it’s kind of fun and it’s kind of serious in a way as well, but we’re trying not to put too much pressure on a relationship.” Red flag number three: what the hell is she talking about, “we’re going slow”? Last we checked, introducing your daughter to a guy you just really started talking to a month ago isn’t exactly “slow.” But thankfully, Andrew lives out in Malibu, and he hasn’t moved in with her — yet. So for now, they have a long distance relationship. Which, according to Amber, has ‘been good because we can give each other space. It balances everything out especially when you first break up with somebody.” Because, as she says, “you don’t really want to jump right into another situation” immediately after a breakup, but “some men are worth it, some aren’t.” And Andrew is “definitely worth my time.” As for the fact that Amber already introduced Andrew to her daughter, she says “Leah sent me a message, like, pretty much she really likes him.” “I think she just thinks he’s new and different which is a good thing, but like I said, nothing is forced and we’re not trying to jump that part of my life in, so it was very chill, very relaxing.” She adds that “Leah was very comfortable,” which … sure, OK. Amber also confirms that Andrew will appear on the next season of Teen Mom OG, because why wouldn’t he?
