Now, the A$AP Mob star has been charged with criminal assault and faces up to two years in jail. TMZ reports : A$AP Rocky has just been charged with a crime after spending weeks in a Swedish jail … prosecutors just hit him with Assault Causing Actual Bodily Harm stemming from a street brawl in the country’s capital .. and if convicted he could spend 2 years behind bars. The prosecutor said A$AP will continue to be held in jail pending a trial … and the trial date has not been set, although it could be today. A rep for the prosecutor tells TMZ the trial will be held within the next 2 weeks. The prosecutor expects the trial will last 3 days. Two members of Rocky’s crew have also been charged with the same crime and they will also be held pending trial. The Swedish prosecutor just boasted he had access to more information than people on the internet. He said he’s reviewed video and also talked to witnesses, and determined the claims by Rocky and his 2 crew members of self defense and provocation didn’t hold water, despite the fact the alleged victim is the one who unrelentingly harassed and attacked Rocky and his crew first. The prosecutor in the case said in an update that he does not intend to seek the full two-year sentence but the final ruling ultimately comes down to what gets revealed in the upcoming trial. — Photo: Getty

These days, the Duggars are internationally renowned and arguably the most famous evangelicals on the planet. But there was a time when they were just a humble — albeit massive — family from Arkansas with a whole lot of mouths to feed and little knowledge of the outside world. Actually, that’s partially a narrative constructed by TLC, as Jim Bob has always had huge ambitions in the worlds of politics and business, but we’ll leave that conversation for another time. Anyway, in the pre- Josh Duggar sex scandal days when the family’s original show — 19 Kids and Counting — had yet to be canceled, producers reveled in forcing the rubes to leave their beloved compound and interact with big city folk. Sometimes this resulted in lame, fish-out-of-water, Beverly Hillbillies humor. On other occasions, however, it served to highlight the bigotry inherent to the Duggars’ belief system. The most appalling example of the latter type of scenario occurred way back in 2008, when Jim Bob and Michelle were not quite through breeding, and the show was titled 17 Kids and Counting . The incident was first reported by Gawker in 2015, but in recent weeks, it’s become a topic of heated debate on Duggar-related message boards for reasons that aren’t entirely clear. But while we may be uncertain of why the controversy has been unearthed, it remains a potent reminder of the hate and homophobia that exist at the very heart of the Duggars’ belief system, and so we’re happy to revisit it. According to crew members who worked on the show at that time, the Duggars were preparing for a trip to New York City when Michelle suddenly became anxious. She admitted to several behind-the-scenes staffers that she was nervous about the trip due to rumors she had heard regarding NYC’s diverse population. “Well, I hear the city is overrun by gays,” Michelle said to the crew. “Has that been causing a lot of problems?” One of the crew members reportedly gestured to an openly gay co-worker to indicate to Michelle that she would be just fine. Everyone laughed — except, presumably, for Michelle — who complained to the show’s top brass about the crew member’s sexual orientaton. Shortly thereafter, the unidentified staffer was transferred to a different project belonging to the same production company. So he was not “fired,” as some reports suggest, but he was hurried from the Duggars’ home, never to have any contact with the family again. “They kept a very tight lid on this incident,” an insider told Gawker . “On future tapings when new crews would be swapped in, they were suspiciously more and more straight-edged Christian than you’d typically see on the set of a television show.” Michelle, of course, has a long history of practicing and expressing some shockingly bigoted beliefs. She long ago cut ties with Evelyn Ruark , her openly gay sister, seemingly for no other reason than that Evelyn is a lesbian. Back in 2014, Michelle lent her voice to robocalls supporting a series of discriminatory, transphobic laws regarding housing and bathroom use. During part 1 of the 90 Day Fiance: Happily Ever After? Season 4 Tell All, Colt and Chantel got into a heated conflict backstage. It turns out that they weren’t the only ones — Colt was picking fights with each and every one of his castmates. Here’s the inside scoop on his behavior, and Coltee even confirms some of it. It almost earned him an epic smackdown from Pedro. “He was being a jerk before we all sat down,” Nicole Nafziger revealed on Instagram. He wasn’t just picking on Pedro and Chantel. He was trying to strike a nerve with anyone and with everyone. “He was asking each couple a rude question,” Nicole recalls. “Like he asked me if my relationship was even real?” she accuses. “Is that really the first thing you ask someone?” “He wasn’t very nice to everyone,” Nicole describes. “He came on defense and offense,” she says of Colt. “He was rude.” That definitely sounds very true to his character. When it comes to his argument with Chantel, Nicole says that Chantel was in the right to respond the way that she did. “She [had] a reason to snap at him,” Nicole says. “He went at her backstage even though it wasn’t seen,” Nicole continues. And Chantel was not the only castmate whom he successfully annoyed. “He asked Ashley if she had scammed anyone lately,” Nicole recalls. “And called her ‘Trashley.'” “They got into it, and it actually was more explosive than the fight they showed with Chantel,” she says. Nicole continues: “as Ashley was yelling at him much louder than Chantel yelled at him.” In Touch Weekly reported on the animosity between Ashley and Colt. “When she got sat next to him, she was like, ‘Oh for f–k’s sake, seriously?’” the insider shares. The man responsible for the creation of almost all of the comic book characters we know and love is being honored with a street named after him in The Bronx. According to reports from The New York Post , City Council voted on Tuesday to co-name University Avenue between Brandt Place and West 176th Street “Stan Lee Way.” The Marvel icon lived in the area and was also an alum at DeWitt Clinton High School. All there is to do now is to get mayoral sign-off on the proposal for the honor to become official. Stan Lee died in November at the age of 95 and has been highly honored by both fans and actors alike since his passing. At this month’s San Diego Comic-Con, tributes to Lee were all over the place, including a commemorative Stan Lee plush doll that appeared in a bunch of fan photos from the festivities. In case you somehow haven’t heard, the Taylor Swift vs. Scooter Braun feud has been going strong for several weeks now. It all started when Braun purchased Big Machine Label Group, a deal that also gave him the master recordings to Taylor’s first seven albums. The beef has left celebs and industry insiders deeply divided, with numerous A-listers and prominent figures in the music biz loudly declaring their support for either side. Yes, Scooter may not be as famous as Taylor, but he’s just as rich, and arguably even more well-connected. Justin Bieber, Demi Lovato, Cara Delevingne and countless others have already been pulled into the fray. And now, a front-running Democratic presidential candidate has essentially been forced to pick a side. The very wealthy often host fundraisers for candidates they support — not only is it the ultimate status symbol (“Come meet the future president at my house!”), it also helps to curry favor with powerful politicians who might soon become even more powerful. Scooter hosted one for Senator Kamala Harris last week, and many of Taylor’s most ardent fans took to social media to express their displeasure with the presidential candidate. And it’s resulted in the worst Kamala Harris/music-related scandal since the California senator claimed she listened to Biggie and Tupac in college, even though the rappers would’ve been in middle school when she graduated.’ “I was SO excited for you as a democratic candidate, but if you so choose to go to an event held by @scooterbraun, a man whose arrogance mirrors our president’s, I can no longer hold onto my excitement and faith for you as a presidential candidate,” one Swiftie tweeted. “If @KamalaHarris thinks this will get her votes she is delusional and @scooterbraun is a thief who uses these women to advance his bank account…” another remarked. A user named @sandiegoleah even started a hashtag for the movement, tweeting: “@KamalaHarris please don’t do a fundraiser with @scooterbraun you will lose a lot of votes to @ewarren I want to support you but cannot if you associate with a bully and misogynist #IStandWithTaylor”. Early reports from Page Six indicated that Taylor herself commented on the situation, but that doesn’t seem to be the case. The question now, of course, is — how will this affect Harris’ chances of securing the Democratic nomination. And the answer is, almost certainly not at all. We know there are those who believe Taylor could have prevented a Trump presidency simply by endorsing Hillary, but that’s obviously not true. If anything, the 2016 Election taught us the same lesson as the Taylor vs. Scooter feud — extremely rich white dudes can pretty much do whatever they want.
