Jermaine Dupri Says Female Rappers Today Are All Rapping About The Same Things Music industry veteran Jermaine Dupri is NOT impressed by the women dominating the rap game today. Responsible for helping the first female rapper go platinum, Da Brat, Jermaine thinks there’s just enough variety as far as image and content. When by asked PEOPLE TV which rap Queen he’s feeling, this is what he said. “I can’t really say. They all rapping about the same thing. I don’t think they’re showing us who is the best rapper. For me, it’s like strippers rapping. As far as rap goes, I’m not getting ‘who is the best rapper.’ I’m getting, like, you got a story about you dancing in the club, YOU got a story about you dancing in the club, YOU got a story…ok. Who’s gonna be the rapper?” Hit play to hear it. Source: HOLLYWOOD, CA – SEPTEMBER 17: Lil Kim arrives for VH1’s Hip Hop Honors: The 90’s Game Changers at Paramount Studios on September 17, 2017 in Hollywood, California. (Photo by Greg Doherty/Getty Images) Uploaded By Godspeed Lil Kim ‘s imprint on Hip-Hop history is well branded and well deserved and though she’s never been one to keep her mouth shut she refuses to speak to anyone who doesn’t put any respect on her name. Recently the OG Queen Bee took to Instagram Live to explain why she refused to do interviews for both Andy Cohen and the media in general. Revealing that she had some press set up for Thursday, Kim explained that she pulled out of all her obligations because “two of the major outlets wanted to be messy and my publicist and my manager made the executive decision to shut it down.” The “Lighters Up” rapper went on to state that “I refuse to f*ckin’ keep doing all of these interviews, publications and all of that sh*t if muthaf*ckas is not gonna respect who I am, what i’ve done, where i’m at now – put some f*ckin’ respect on my name, period.” According to Kim she was set up to appear on Access Hollywood , The Today Show and Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen , but apparently her team wasn’t feeling the direction one or all of these shows wanted to go with their interviews. Without going into specifics about what kind of “messy” Cohen (who she thought she had a cool relationship with) and others wanted to get into, the pint sized Brooklyn rapper stated that “If y’all don’t see me doing press, if y’all don’t see me doing certain things, it’s ’cause I’m fighting. I’m f**king fighting. I’m not f**king just about to have muthaf**kers not put respect on my name. So don’t act stupid. Don’t start asking all these dumb questions, ‘why she not doing this? why she not doing that?’ cause now y’all f*ckin’ know!” Well, we can’t blame her for pulling out of shows that she felt might’ve been looking to ask her questions she wasn’t comfortable answering. As for that long awaited follow up album to 2005’s The Naked Truth , Kim promises it’ll drop “real, real soon.” Check out Lil Kim’s IG statement below and let us know if you think she’s in the right to put the media on blast.
Source: Pose / FX Networks WARNING: Major spoilers ahead for episode 4 of “Pose:” If it felt that in the second season of Pose Candy Ferocity ( Angelica Ross ) was growing and developing into something bigger and better, you were not alone. While in the hit ballroom drama, Candy has always struggled, especially with choosing the correct category, she’d come a long way. Yes, she is still a mean girl who can read the girls and even threaten folks with that infamous hammer of hers, but she’s evolved a bit. She’s no longer the girl having strangers in basements inject faulty silicon in her rear, nor is she tagging behind former house mother Elektra Abundance Evangelista Wintour ( Dominique Jackson ) feeding off her scraps. Ms. Candy—as Pray Tell ( Billy Porter ) would say—had stepped up to become a co-mother, molding her own children and house, along with doing her damnedest to carve out her own lasting legacy. And as we jumped three years later to 1990 this season, we see how the girls—rather naively and annoyingly—have faith that Madonna’s hit song “Vogue” would bring them all from the shadows of this underground world into the bright lights of the Big Apple. As Candy said, she needed to the first one in the line of that mainstream gaze, because she has bigger dreams than winning trophies in the face category. She was destined to become a star in the outside world. She was looking to the future. Source: Pose / FX Networks Of course, we all wanted that for her, to see her rise and be successful like Angel (Indya Moore ), but in the fourth episode “ Never Knew Love Like This Before,” we realize that Candy “is never coming home.” Days after she’d gone missing, her bruised and bloody body was found, thrown in a seedy hotel closet like yesterday’s trash. See, Candy had to engage in survival sex work to keep her house afloat, but this time around, the danger too many vulnerable women like her face is what ended her life. Granted, it’s not like death is new to Pose . But the majority of those deaths have been from complications of AIDS, mostly taking the lives of Black and Latinx men. Meanwhile, many of the girls (outside of Blanca) seemed unscathed by the virus on-screen. But as Angelica Ross recently told me this season co-creator Ryan Murphy was clear that this season they would no longer be viewing these women’s world through “rose colored glasses.” But thankfully, her death wasn’t treated like an afterthought like Tara from True Blood or with blatant disregard like Missandei on Game of Thrones). As I recently pointed out for Shondaland , Candy’s storyline was treated with “the love, dignity and respect it deserved.” During Candy’s memorial, her fierce-as-ever ghost appeared in order to make amends with frenemies like Pray Tell, encourage Angel to carry on her torch to the next generation of trans girls like her and to reunite with her estranged parents who had refused to see their son as the woman she was born to be. Most importantly, Candy was no longer the butt of the ball’s jokes. In her final scene, she was able to fulfill her biggest goal before crossing over: To be the queen of the ballroom in a category she knew she could conquer, lip-syncing. But it’s important to point out that this stunning (and triggering moment) in television was also an example of art imitating life. In the iconic 1990 documentary Paris Is Burning , which Pose is heavily inspired by, Venus Xtravaganza’ promising life was ended short when her body was found in a “sleazy motel” four days after she’d been strangled. Like Candy, her killer was never caught. One would think that with time comes progress, but for trans women, specifically Black and Latinx trans women like Candy and Venus, that isn’t always the case. Yes, they are more visible in pop culture, but being seen doesn’t translate into safety. Just this year alone, eleven Black trans women in the U.S. have been murdered : Dana Martin. Jazzaline Ware. Ashanti Carmon. Claire Legato. Muhlaysia Booker. Michelle “Tamika” Washington. Paris Cameron. Chynal Lindsey. Chanel Scurlock. Zoe Spears. Brooklyn Lindsey. What’s even worse is that it’s estimated that the average lifespan for trans women is only 35-years-old. Think if that were the case for cisgender Black women. Think if every year you inch closer to 35, you inch closer to death. Every time you blow out your birthday candles you are reminded of ALL the years, happiness and dreams that will be robbed from you because you are brave enough to live your truth. That’s the real tragedy. All that potential, just lost. All of the gifts they can offer and receive from this world, gone. This is exactly what Candy’s fictional death represents—the dreams deferred of the real-life Black trans women we’ve lost and will continue to lose to this senseless, transphobic and crippling violence. Sadly, it’s happening on our watch. So if there was ever a time to stand up for Black trans women, it’s now. Now is the time to love and support our sisters by fighting for a better and more welcoming world that allows for them to live their fullest and longest lives. We owe them that. Most importantly, now is the time to ensure that when we say the names of the Candys of this world, we’re not just doing it in death, but celebrating them in life. For a while there, it looked as though former NBA star Lamar Odom was on the verge of a comeback. Sure, he might never make it back to the bigs again, but Odom’s new memoir earned him sympathy from fans who may have previously written him off as a hard-partying hedonist who set fire to both his career and his marriage by indulging his love of prostitutes and hard drugs. Perhaps even more importantly, Odom returned to the sport he loves, having earned a spot in the Big3 summer league founded by Ice Cube. Unfortunately, Lamar’s time on the court didn’t last very long. TMZ is reporting today that Odom has been cut from the roster of the Big3 team bafflingly known as the Enemies. Former NBA stars Baron “Boom” Davis, Bonzi Wells, and Jermaine O’Neal were also deactivated for the remainder of the season, but it was Odom’s name that attracted the attention of the gossip world. And many feared the worst. After all, Odom’s talent for squandering golden opportunities might be matched only by Hillary Clinton, and many feared that he had messed up yet another second chance by returning to the bad behavior that ruined his marriage to Khloe Kardashian. But if there’s a bright side to this situation, it’s that Odom seems to have been cut loose as a result of his performance on the court, not wild nights that might land him in front of a judge. The league issued a statement today clarifying that 39-year-old Odom and his cut companions simply no longer have what it takes to compete at a professional level? “As the premier professional 3-on-3 league in the world, we are always striving to improve the quality of both the live and broadcast experience for our fans as well as the level of competition,” read the statement. In other words, no one wants to see Lamar Odom and Boom Davis chasing each other around unless one wants the other to get off his lawn. Insiders say Odom is “embarrassed” by the league’s decision, but has come to accept it. Lamar barely played for the Enemies, posting just 2 points and 4 rebounds so far this season. And his latest public confessions probably weren’t great for the fledgling Big3 from a PR perspective. Among the revelations contained in Lamar’s book were the facts that he slept with over 1,000 women (with many of those conquests occurring while he was married, and that he once threatened to kill Khloe Kardashian while high out of his mind on a potent cocktail of drugs. And you probably thought no one could make Tristan Thompson look like a good partner! Of course, Tristan would probably humiliate Lamar one-on-one, but that’s a conversation for another time! Over the weekend, beloved Disney star Cameron Boyce passed away , shocking his countless fans and paining his loved ones. He was only 20 years old. Now, his father is sharing a photo taken just hours before Cameron was taken from the world. Taking to Instagram for his first post since the sudden and tragic death of his son, Victor Boyce shared this photo. “My son,” he writes. “Just hours before he was snatched from our lives.” “I miss him terribly,” Victor affirms. He continues: “I hope that no one ever has to feel the agony I’m feeling.” “But,” Victor is all too aware. “No one is immune to tragedy.” For days, now, Cameron Boyce’s legions of fans have been sending messages of grief and emotional support. “The outpouring of love and support our family continues to receive is so beautiful and appreciated,” Victor expresses. You never know when your kind comment or sympathetic gesture could mean the world to a total stranger. Whether it’s for a woman sobbing in a grocery store or a man grieving on social media, your words can have a powerful impact. Victor’s caption concludes: “Thank you all for helping us through our worst possible situation.” Cameron Boyce was a Disney star, noted for his role on the series Jessie. More recently, he starred as Carlos, son of Cruella de Vil, on the beloved made-for-TV movie franchise, The Descendants . As his family shared after his sudden passing, Cameron had been diagnosed years ago with epilepsy. It was a catastrophic seizure that claimed his life as he slept. This is so heartbreaking — for his fans, his friends, and especially for his family. Cameron’s charm and famed saw his memory honored by beloved First Lady Michelle Obama. “I was lucky enough to share a few moments with Cameron Boyce,” Michelle reminded her followers. She noted that she had rubbed elbows with him “on set, at the White House, and on a service project.” Michelle was around him for “enough time to recognize that not only did he have incredible talent, but also an incredible heart.” “Sending out a lot of love and hugs to his family, friends, and his many, many fans,” Michelle concluded. In 2014, when Cameron starred on Jessie , Michelle Obama made a very special guest appearance. It was during this time that she made the rounds on a select number of popular tween dramas. The goal was to acknowledge the special sacrifices made by military families. Cameron then appeared alongside some of his castmates at the White House’s Easter celebration. Michelle and Cameron also worked alongside each other on a Toys for Tots drive. Victor had previously expressed his gratitude for the outpouring of kind words from fans. On Sunday, he took to Twitter to acknowledge Cameron’s many mourners. “I’m overwhelmed with the love and support our family has received,” Victor’s tweet began. “It really does help to ease the pain,” he admitted. “Of this nightmare I can’t wake up from.” Victor’s heartfelt tweet concluded: “I can’t thank you guys enough.” View Slideshow: Celebrities Who Died in 2019: In Memoriam
Fans and viewers of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills have already watched Camille Grammer go off on the entire cast . It turns out that that was just the beginning, because part one of the Season 9 Reunion airs on July 16. In this new trailer, Bravo teases fans with the wealth of drama, tears, fights, and allegations to come. “The reunion is going great!” an excited Andy Cohen tells Anderson Cooper at the start of this explosive trailer. “It's major.” Viewers then see Kyle Richards speaking emotionally, saying: “I paid the ultimate price by being honest.” Then her voice breaks and she apologizes: “Sorry, I can't talk right now.” “There's major things happening,” Andy teases to an intrigued Anderson. Andy adds: “There's trouble afoot in Beverly Hills.” Without context, we then see the beautiful Lisa Rinna demand of someone: “You have to shut the f–k up” “We've all said things privately about each other,” Kyle says in a rant. She may be ranting at Lisa, but we cannot confirm that. Editing, folks. “I would never out you!” Kyle promises. “If I did right now, it would be a very bad situation.” Okay, so it's both a promise and a threat. We then hear Erika Jayne instruct: “Denise, stop it. That is not true.” “Lisa Vanderpump is not here,” Andy says. This earns an intrigued “ooooooh” from Anderson, who remains an eternal delight. Anderson asks: “Has she not been there at all for this reunion?” Andy replies with a very cryptic facial expression. “I want to know how she found the lie detector,” Denise expresses. Kyle then explains: “She did a test run, first.” Lisa responds with obvious astonishment. Meanwhile, Erika replies with a look of bewilderment. “The f–k, man?” she asks. “You know who is here?” Andy teases. “Camille.” We then see Camille recall: “She told me to tell my daughter she was a f–king liar!” “What?” an astonished Kylie asks, whipping her head around. “We're breaking a lot of news today in Beverly Hills,” Andy notes. Anderson keeps playing his part perfectly, saying: “Oooh.” This is when the trailer takes a turn for the more salacious. “When he used to go to Vegas as a very young man,” Erika teases. “They'd send up a couple of 'back scratchers.'” In another scene, we see Andy ask: “So … how big is it?” Everyone seems to be in good humor as Kylie removes one of her heels and says “compared to this shoe!” When Denise says: “It's actually bigger than your shoe,” everyone seems to lose it. “I pride myself on being an honest person,” Teddi says as things take a turn for the serious. “But you were lying,” Andy says. Andy then asks someone, possibly Kyle: “Why do you think that Erika doesn't want to be around you?” No one is more surprised at this than Erika, who replies: “What?” Possibly unrelated, the only Lisa present in the room says: “Honey, it's coming. Bring it on!” “That's nasty,” a very furious Camille accuses. “You don't come to my wedding and then treat me so disrespectfully after!” she yells. Kylie accuses: “That's such a f–king low blow.” We then see Erika assert: “It's just kind of rude.” This is when Denise tells someone: “You're talking out of your ass.” Kyle insists: “My husband did not scam anyone, and I don't appreciate that.” “It's hypocrisy at its finest right now,” Camille says. Kyle retorts: “No, Camille.” “Camille,” Denise pleads. “Calm down, for f–k's sake.” “Denise, shut up,” Camille says dismissively. This prompts Lisa to demand: “Don't tell her to shut up!” Denise then asks: “Is she on something?”
Nathan Griffith is not messing around. And Jenelle Evans better take note. Indeed, while the former Teen Mom star has been parading around and celebrating ever since a judge ordered her kids get returned to her custody , Griffith has been plotting and stewing. After having had five-year old Kaiser in his care for about a month while Evans attended court hearings and argued that she deserved to get him back, Nathan isn't content now to just sit back and let Jenelle raise the child on her own. Especially not in light of the way she's been acting toward him. Meaning what, exactly? Scroll down to see what Griffith just said about his custody battle with Evans — and how he has no plans to put an end to it until he comes out on top. 1. Jenelle and Nathan Do NOT Get Along Understatement of the year here, really, but there’s been no thaw in their relationship in years. 2. Griffith Loves Kaiser This really does seem to be the case, and the love was only exacerbated by how much time daddy and son got to spend together during Jenelle’s custody battle. 3. And Now That He’s Lost Kaiser Again? Nathan seems more determined than ever to win him back. 4. This is What He Tweeted After Evans Was Awarded Kaiser by a Judge: “I’ve calmed down a bit and just relying on my faith at this moment.” 5. But There Was More: “I’m not going to put my two cents in,” he added, trying to sound neutral, prior to linking to a “NC Judicial Standards Complaint Form” and writing: “Any input will help. The judge’s name is Pauline Hankins. TY #TeamGriffith.” 6. Nathan is Asking for Your Help He wants followers to actually file official complaints about Jenelle with the state of North Carolina in order to help his custody case. View Slideshow
It will sadly not be any surprise to learn that the same awful dude who thinks that Meghan Markle is ruining Prince Harry is back at it. This time, notorious twonk Piers Morgan is putting the Duchess on blast for requesting privacy during an event. As he rails against her, he begins to demand that she “go back to America,” and even his poor cohost is scandalized. Meghan Markle attended a Wimbledon tennis match. Contrary to speculation, she was not seated in the royal box, but was invited as a friend of the player — Serena Williams. According to a report from the match, at least one person in the stands was asked to not photograph the Duchess. “Would you not take photographs of the Duchess?” a royal protection officer allegedly requested. The royal protection officer then explained: “She's here in a private capacity.” That sounds fair and reasonable, which is of course why Piers Morgan was outraged. Piers Morgan, who is actually paid money to voice his horrible thoughts, went on an unhinged rant on Good Morning Britain . “You're public people, all of you!” Piers can be heard ranting in the video that we have included. “In that moment,” he continues. “You're public people.” “Stop your squealing about privacy!” Piers demands. “We don't want to hear it.” “If you want to be private, go back to America and live privately,” he instructs. “it’s pretty straightforward.” Susanna Reid, whose unenviable lot in life is to exist in physical proximity to Piers Morgan, did not like what she was hearing. “They don’t have to go back to America by the way,” she counters. “She does,” Piers insists. “She’s American!” “They don’t have to go back,” Susanna emphasizes, arguing: “She’s married an Englishman!” “She doesn’t want to be a British public figure in the royal family,” Piers says. “Go back to America.” As always, Piers wasn't interested in walking back his awful claims. He reitorated his attack on the only adult British royal family member of color in a later tweet. “It’s absurd for Ms Markle to demand privacy as she sits in the royal box on a publicly-funded jolly with her mates,” Piers asserted. Again, she was not seated in the royal box — that was debunked. She was literally just seated in the audience at Serena Williams' invitation. That's it. We mentioned before that Piers is leveling these attacks very conspicuously against the only adult black member of the family. This is not out of a desire to “pile on” attacks on Piers — honestly, every time that he opens his mouth, he gives critics nothing but ammunition. We mention it because his “go back to America” cries sound awfully familiar. There are those in both the UK and America who have suggested that black people who are unhappy in either nation should “go back to Africa.” That's a vile thing to say regardless, but especially cruel to people whose ancestors were abducted and brought over to be sold. Why is Piers ranting about Meghan Markle allegedly asking for a modicum of privacy while privately attending an event? Mostly because it's his job to stir up pointless controversy, though he still thinks he's some sort of newscaster. It's the same reason that Meghan McCain's huffing and endless name-dropping of “my father” has been a boon to The View . Having someone like Piers around means that every time that he puts his foot in his mouth, Good Morning Britain is a hot topic. But even Piers could try to reel it in when it comes to Meghan, who has faced so much racist hate since her engagement to Harry was announced.
For Jenelle Evans, what a difference a week make. Like, what a major difference a week makes. Just consider the following… On July 1, the disgraced ex-Teen Mom star was unsure what the future would bring, as she prepared to attend yet another custody hearing during which she and violent husband David Eason would plead their case. At that time, they had no idea whether their kids would ever be returned to their care. Fast forward seven days, however, and not only are two-year old Ensley and five-year old Kaiser once again living with their famous mother — but Jenelle is sharing photo of her and the latter child celebrating a milestone in the toddler’s life. “Super happy!” Evans Tweeted along with the above photo on Monday, adding: “Kaiser’s school is going to ‘re-do’ his Pre-K Graduation just for him with all his friends since he missed it. Can’t wait to see my Bubba walk… “You did it Bubba! I couldn’t be more proud of you. Now it’s time for the Big Boy School! Extremely grateful Kaiser’s school did their own ceremony for him, since he missed his. #Blessed #Bittersweet.” Addressing Kaiser himself on Instagram, while posting the same snapshot, Jenelle wrote: You’re so perfect . Evans and Eason, of course, lost custody of Kaiser and her sister (and 11-year old Maryssa, David’s daughter from a previous relationship) after Eason shot and killed their family dog. This act prompted a visit from Child Protective Service, who finally intervened and determined the kids were being raised in an unsafe environment. Off Kaiser went to live with his dad, Nathan Griffith, for several weeks; while Ensley was taken in by Jenelle’s mother, Barbara Evans. A North Carolina judge decreed on July 3 that there was insufficient evidence against Jenelle and David to keep their kids away, ordering the young ones to be sent back to Eason and Evans by 10 a.m. EST on July 4. Jenelle promptly shared a number of pictures fron the holiday weekend of her kids having fun in the water. Which is great, obviously. These kids deserve to have all the fun every day of the week. But is Evans celebrating prematurely? Is she really out of the parental woods? Griffith has made it very clear that he won’t stop fighting for custody of Kaiser . For now, though, Jenelle is acting and sounding as if the children are hers forever and ever … which, odds are, will be the case moving forward. “I am ecstatic to regain custody of my kids,” she said in a statement after the custody drama was brought to a conclusion last week, adding: “Throughout this long process and final decision, I am excited to be moving forward and continuing to show America I’m a good parent.” (NOTE: That’s not really a grammatical sentence, Jenelle.) Jenelle went on to say on her Instagram Story that their kids are “happy as can be” back at home — and also revealed her plans to regain custody of her nine-year-old son, Jace, who has lived with his grandma for most of his life. We’re really sorry about that, Jace. View Slideshow: Jenelle Evans Claims She Was THIS Close to Leaving David Eason

The two start exchanging blows which naturally stuns everyone in eyesight. Soon after other family members jump into it turning things into a hood royal rumble. Unfortunately, the woman took the worst of the exchange as she is seen on the floor after more punches from the man. Anaheim police department is now looking into the matter.
