David Correy, X Factor Finalist, Tracks Down Birth Mother

David Correy has been named an X Factor finalist . But that isn’t the best news the aspiring singer received this week. David Correy Audition Sources confirm to TMZ that Correy, a 26-year old who told viewers on his opening episode that he was given up for adoption when he was a newborn in Brazil, has tracked down his birth mother ! Her name is Luciene Lima and she recognized the baby photos shown in Correy’s segment after he was introduced on The X Factor a couple weeks ago. Lima reportedly contacted local media in Brazil, which got the ball rollong (contacting Correy, matching up birth certificates and timelines) and so far – with DNA results not yet in – all signs point to a valid connection. “David is so happy,” a friend says. “He can’t wait to meet her for the first time.”

Kate Middleton Olympic Fashion Watch: One-Button Blue Blazer!

The London Olympics are great for so many reasons, most pertaining to the incredible athletic competition among a moving cross-section of humanity. The deluge of Kate Middleton pictures is also great. The unofficial face of the host nation is setting even more fashion trends than usual this week. Her latest? A cute, blue Smythe Navy One Button Blazer! Kate wore the item at the Cross Country Equestrian event – where Prince William’s cousin Zara Phillips actually competed for Great Britain – Monday (above). Kate Middleton fashion followers may recall that she also was seen in this same blazer at Heathrow airport and on her trip to Canada in Summer 2011. Clearly it works for her … as if anything doesn’t. MTV Video Music Awards 2012: Nominations Revealed!

Trend-setting collaborators Rihanna and Drake lead the star-studded list of nominees for the 2012 MTV Video Music Awards, released this morning. Following a year when both singers pushed boundaries by mixing in even more dance and R&B flavor, the pair lead all nominees with five apiece. Rihanna, in fact, has two chances to take home the top Video of the Year prize for her solo hit “We Found Love” and her duet with Drake, “Take Care.” Chris Brown , a name often linked to both Rihanna and Drake for different reasons, also scored a pair of nominations at the annual extravaganza. Frank Ocean, who came out as bisexual earlier this summer, is up for two awards. 2011’s biggest winner, Katy Perry, is second with four nominations. This year’s show will air live on September 6 at 8 p.m. EST from the Staples Center in Los Angeles and feature a host of big-name performances. Charlize Theron: So Mad at Kristen Stewart!

Earlier this year, in a feature for Interview magazine, Charlize Theron said of her Snow White and the Huntsman costar: “There’s not an ounce of her anatomy that shows how to half-ass anything.” Now, however, in light of photos that prove Rupert Sanders is intimately familiar with various ounces of Kristen Stewart’s anatomy, sources say Theron is less a fan of her fellow actress. “Charlize is absolutely fuming with Kristen for having an affair with Rupert,” an insider tells Radar Online, adding that the South African beauty is “tight” with Sanders’ wife, Liberty Ross . Theron and Stewart reportedly grew so close while filming that the former asked the latter to be her son’s godmother. But she had no idea about the bond forming between Kristen and the duo’s director at the time. “[She] feels completely betrayed by the whole incident,” the source adds of the Oscar winner. “It’s certainly left Charlize between a rock and a hard place, because she feels great sympathy for Liberty and the kids and yet, she has a sisterly love for Kristin.” The latest reports indicate no such confusion for Robert Pattinson. Pitbull Performs in Tiny Alaska Town, Visits Walmart After Online "Exile" Effort Goes Viral

Pitbull may call himself Mr. Worldwide, but he probably never imagined in a million years that he’d set foot in this remote corner of the planet. The rapper met with residents at a Walmart in Kodiak, Alaska (pop. 6,310) as part of his new promotional campaign with the big-box retailer. Earlier this summer, he had agreed to appear at the U.S. Walmart with the most “likes” on Facebook … which spawned a viral effort to “exile” him. Upon hearing of the contest, Boston Phoenix writer David Thorpe started a Twitter campaign to get Pitbull as far away from the mainstream as possible. It worked. Fortunately, he was a good sport and obliged. “Thank U Kodiak … I am honored, truly,” Pitbull Tweeted Monday along with a photo of him posing with the town’s youngest resident (above). The “Give Me Everything” rapper performed at the local Coast Guard base and posed for photos with fans, unwitting winners in this odd twist. Pit even invited Thorpe to join him in Kodiak, which he did. “Pitbull just shouted me out in front of like… HUNDREDS of people,” the writer tweeted. “‘Keep your friends close, and your enemies closer.’ Sun-tzu ;)” Pit tweeted playfully in response, proving he can very much take a joke. Walmart, meanwhile, made sure Pitbull left with some Grade A Kodiak swag – free bear repellant and bells to scare them off in the wilderness.
