Even I, a beleaguered devotee of Tyler Perry’s melodramatic, muumuu-rocking oeuvre, had a difficult time accepting the inevitability of… God, I can’t even write it. Kim… ugh. Kiiiimmmm… fuck . KimKardashian. Kim. Kar. Dashian. Whew. OK. Even I had a difficult time accepting the inevitability of Kim Kardashian’s casting in Perry’s upcoming The Marriage Counselor , and that was before the tragic unraveling of her nuptials to that discarded oaf, whoever he was. I wasn’t alone, either; other fans’ disapproval pelted the door of the specially reinforced storm closet where Perry sought refuge. Now, with Kar… Kar… da… Ugh. With her shooting completed, the filmmaker finally took to his blog today to explain himself.
Jackson Rathbone says he has felt right at home playing Jasper in the Twilight films, though the vampire’s quiet, reserved nature contrasts with the actor’s other identity: as the leader of L.A. funk rock band 100 Monkeys, who kick off their first European tour this month. Rathbone, who was strumming a guitar between interviews at the recent junket for this week’s Breaking Dawn – Part 1 , spoke with Movieline about balancing film and music, Twilight ‘s effect on his success as a musician, and moving on from the series after Breaking Dawn – Part 2 hits theaters next year.
‘I’ve seen Edward and Bella go through a lot so far, so I feel like I was kind of ready to see this,’ Lautner tells MTV News. By Tiffany Miles, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner in “Breaking Dawn, Part 1” Photo: Summit Entertainment Of all the buzz surrounding this week’s hugely anticipated release of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” the vast majority of fan rumblings and excitement have been about and for one scene and one scene only: the “honeymoon scene,” a.k.a. Bella and Edward’s sex scene. It’s a different story for the actors involved, specifically for Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart , who have talked at length about how awkward filming the scene was. Their co-stars seem to be onboard with their enthusiasm for the “action,” however. When MTV News caught up with Taylor Lautner recently, he said he was ready for it. “I’ve seen Edward and Bella go through a lot so far, so I feel like I was kind of ready to see this,” Lautner said. “I think everybody will feel the same way. We’ve seen Edward and Bella in their relationship grow so much that it’s about time.” “Twilight” author Stephenie Meyer told us at the “Breaking Dawn” premiere that the scene in the movie gives fans a lot more to see and think about than she did in the book. “I think it’s romantic, and it does give you more than the book does,” Meyer said. “I know some of the sites call it, instead of ‘fade to black,’ ‘fade to sad.’ They’d love to see more. I think this gives them that,” she said. “It gives them a romantic peek into the honeymoon. We don’t want to see too much.” Although everyone seems to be excited to see the honeymoon scene, Lautner still isn’t sure that Bella made the right decision when she chose Edward over his character, Jacob Black. When asked if he thought Bella made the wrong call, he jokingly said, “You know, I go back and forth with that one [question] still.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘I got it down to one time … and it literally lasts for two seconds,’ he tells MTV News about fewer shirtless scenes. By Kara Warner with reporting by Josh Horowitz Taylor Lautner in “Twilight: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” Photo: Summit Poor Taylor Lautner . Ever since he ripped off his shirt to reveal a noticeably buffed-up bod in “New Moon,” his fans and filmmakers have been clamoring to see more of those defined abs of his, much to the young actor’s embarrassment. We don’t like being the bearer of bad news, but it seems as though Lautner’s ab exposure peaked in “Eclipse.” Why? Because there is only one very brief moment of shirtlessness in “Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” and if Lautner has his way, that’s all we’re going to get from here on out. “I got it down to one time, one time in the movie, and it literally lasts for two seconds,” Lautner told MTV News proudly of his single shirtless shot. “There was some negotiating for sure, oh yeah. There were more [shirtless scenes] when I read the original script, trust me,” he said. “And I got it down to a very, very small amount, which I was so happy with.” Say it ain’t so! Surely this is his strategy to leave his fans wanting more? “No, it’s just so I don’t have to freeze to death while I’m filming this movie. I don’t know why people don’t believe me; it’s uncomfortable,” he protested. “Everybody on set, the crew, the cast are wearing clothes; bundles of clothes. And I’m just chillin’ there naked. It’s uncomfortable.” We know one man who might be pleased to hear about Lautner’s lack of shirtless scene work: Robert Pattinson. “The only thing [that was difficult about filming the sex scene] is the vanity aspect,” Pattinson told us recently . “Taylor [Lautner] just ruined the whole series for me. As soon as he buffed up, I went, ‘Well, I’m throwing in the towel’ on ‘New Moon.’ ” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘I don’t see him as cute,’ 11-year-old actress who plays vampire/human daughter Renesmee Cullen tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Robert Pattinson Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images With the official release of “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” just a few days away, it’s hard to focus on anything else “Twilight”-related. But here at MTV News we can and do, particularly since we managed to snag an interview with Mackenzie Foy on Monday night at the Los Angeles premiere, where the adorable young actress said she was only allowed to see “bits and pieces,” given a few intense and steamy scenes , Never mind the fact that there’s still another year to go before we see Foy onscreen when “Breaking Dawn – Part 2,” opens, we were just excited to talk to her about playing Renesmee, the half-vampire/ half-human daughter of Edward and Bella. “To be honest, I’m really excited about this part too,” Foy gushed. “I knew that [playing] Renesmee Cullen was going to be a big, amazing experience. I knew that she was going to be an amazing big part to do and I’m ready for it and I did it.” The blue-eyed, brown-haired 11-year-old admitted that she might look “just a little bit like” her onscreen parents, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, and had nothing but praise for how nice everyone was to her during filming — except, of course, when it came to using naughty language. We heard Foy made out like a bandit by charging her co-stars money every time they swore, so we asked her to confirm. “Yes, it is true! They would say bad words, and I put it all in this little bucket called the ‘Swear Jar.’ I don’t really know [how much I made], I know it was a lot but I donated it all to St. Jude’s,” she revealed, adding that no one in particular was more foul-mouthed than any other castmember. “They all swear pretty evenly,” she said. We moved on to another important question: Like millions of other Twilighters, does Foy think co-star Pattinson is cute? “I don’t see him as cute,” she said matter-of-factly. “He’s really nice and all, but he’s more of a friend or a brother or a dad to me. … Kristen is an amazing, sweet, wonderful actress and I’m so lucky to be working with her,” she added. “She’s an amazing person.” And what does she think about Taylor Lautner, her would-be future onscreen love interest? “He is nice, he’s funny, he just loves to be with people,” Foy said. “I loved working with all of them; they’re really sweet.” Finally, regarding her favorite scene to shoot, Foy hinted that it’s one toward the end of the movie (and likely the franchise) between Renesmee and Jacob. “My favorite scene to shoot was one of the very last scenes with Taylor. It’s one where I’m on him and it’s just really cool,” she teased. “I’m not going to give out details, but it’s a really amazing scene.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . ‘I was very flattered I was asked to do it,’ designer Carolina Herrera tells MTV News of Stephenie Meyer’s personal request. By Kara Warner, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Kristen Stewart and Robert Pattinson in “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” Photo: Summit Of all the big reveals in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” that don’t involve the words “sex” and “scene,” fans are dying to see Bella’s wedding dress. It’s been one of the most closely guarded film secrets in recent memory, and rightly so, according to author Stephenie Meyer , who told us the key ingredient to the wedding scene was Kristen Stewart looking “gorgeous” and “unbelievable” in that dress. Thankfully, come Friday, the secret will officially be out. MTV News was lucky enough to get a few details about said dress from legendary fashion designer Carolina Herrera at the film’s premiere Monday night, as she led us through the process for how she ended up with the coveted task. “I was called by Stephenie Meyer. We had to discuss a lot, but I was very inspired by her book and the description of the wedding,” Herrera said. “I was very flattered I was asked to do it; it’s a big scene for me.” Herrera said she loves the romance and the idea of true love as depicted in the book and that she was happy to be a part of such a magical scene. She also spoke to the importance and delicacy in designing wedding dresses in general. “Wedding dresses are different, because you have to know that it’s the most important day in the life of a woman,” she said. “You have to please the bride first of all, and it has to be a secret. I cannot talk about the dress before the groom sees it. I treated [Kristen Stewart’s Bella] like every other bride,” she admitted. “I think [Stewart] was very moved when she tried it on. And that means a lot, because she felt that it was the right one.” Given her pleasant experience with the film’s wedding dress, might Herrera consider designing something for Stewart in real life? “Why not? If she asked me, absolutely,” Herrera said with a smile, but added that Stewart doesn’t need to by styled by anyone. “She knows exactly what she wants to wear. … You can wear anything at21. You don’t need any advice. When you are Kristen Stewart, you can wear whatever you want.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . No offense to Edward, Jacob and their respective team members, but Breaking Dawn is all about Bella. In the epic Twilight conclusion, Kristen Stewart’s character is seen as a newlywed, a newly-turned vampire and as a pregnant woman. Going through all of those changes with a girl she’s played for so long was not easy for Stewart, who feels like a part of herself will always be entwined with Bella Swan. “I’m pretty wrapped up in her,” Kristen tells Movie Fanatic. “If you’re the type of girl to identify with Bella then you’re just kind of on her. So it’s really hard for me.” “I genuinely had to justify every decision she made the whole way through.” Breaking Dawn Wedding Trailer Among the many milestones crammed into the first part of Breaking Dawn (in theaters this Friday) is Bella’s wedding to Edward, played by Robert Pattinson. “I had a million different things going through my head,” she recalled of walking down the aisle. “What I kept telling myself was, “Stop, stop, stop. Like just do it. Actually have this experience because you’re just about to ruin it.” Of co-stars Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, she says, “I can’t imagine what this film would have been if I didn’t have really, really solid and growing relationships with them.” “When you work with people like that, you give so much, you’re so comfortable and you can do no wrong, and so they’ve got you. I think we all just got along, and it shows.” Visit Movie Fanatic now for their full interview with Kristen Stewart …
