Yesterday in San Diego, The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn director Bill Condon mysteriously hinted that Stephenie Meyer could have more Twilight spin-offs left in her. Movieline caught up with Condon for a chat overlooking the Convention Center (full interview to come) and asked him to clarify: Is Stephenie Meyer planning to write more Twilight stories?
‘I don’t want to say it felt like a real wedding, but it definitely felt like a ceremony, ‘ she tells MTV News at Comic-Con. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Josh Horowitz Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” Photo: Andrew Cooper/ Summit Entertainment SAN DIEGO — For her third visit to San Diego Comic-Con , Kristen Stewart was happy to report to MTV News about getting married and giving birth — onscreen, that is. While “The Twilight Saga” star was quick to specify that it was Mr. Cullen she shared these milestones with, not rumored beau Robert Pattinson, she spilled the beans about filming the hotly anticipated wedding scene in “Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” “I think the most surreal experience was getting married,” Stewart said. “It was right at the bitter end. I was amping up to it the entire time. They left me on my toes for six months. And then it was just sort of very cathartic to see the entire cast in the pews and everyone excited to see how it was all going to go down. “It had a kind of feel of everyone kind of excited to see how it’s all going to go down,” she continued. “I don’t want to say it felt like a real wedding, but it definitely felt like a ceremony. It definitely felt ceremonial and celebratory.” This is the first time Stewart has had an opportunity to get in on the action with the boys of “Twilight,” and from what we’ve heard, she’s held her own against them. Stewart especially got to face off against Taylor Lautner, which she said was a lot of fun. “Taylor’s funny about it too. He’s like, ‘You’re so cute,’ ” Stewart said. “I think he was a little more intimidated then he led on. Maybe not.” “Breaking Dawn” isn’t the only movie Stewart is promoting at Comic-Con this year. She also has “Snow White and the Huntsman,” which has its panel Saturday. Stewart shared her enthusiasm about the movie without giving too much away about the plot. “I am so, so excited. We’re in pre-production right now. I think [Snow White] represents so much that I can’t wait to get across to the entire world,” she said. “Rupert [Sanders], the director, we’re so in the middle of forming the story and getting into it that it’s hard for me to talk about. I mean, I’m training. I’m riding horses all the time.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . We’ll have plenty more from The Twilight Saga and its Comic-Con panel later today – including never-before-seen footage from Breaking Dawn Part 1 – but this scoop is too juicy to save: Director Bill Condon just teased that Breaking Dawn might NOT be the final chapter in this franchise after all. “It’s the end of the Bella/Edward story,” Condon said. “But there are so many new characters at the end of the second movie that I suspect [Stephanie Meyer] would want to revisit them some time.” What might a new installment be titled? “Breakfast Time,” Robert Pattinson joked. “Brunch? Noon?” Oh, that Robert. You tell us: Should the Twilight Saga continue beyond Breaking Dawn?
‘I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up,’ he jokes to MTV News. By Kara Warner Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart in “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1” Photo: Andrew Cooper/ Summit Entertainment SAN DIEGO — The most dedicated Robert Pattinson fans — those who have pored over every interview, appearance, etc. — know that when it comes to talking about himself, their favorite “Twilight” heartthrob sometimes gets a bit uncomfortable. Every time the subject comes up, he starts running his fingers through his hair and making jokes at his own expense. At the “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” press conference before the film’s San Diego Comic-Con panel on Thursday (July 21), Pattinson was asked what scene gave him the most anxiety during the “Dawn” shoot. Pattinson was forced to endure a double-dose of nerves in talking about himself and having to address the amount of shirtlessness fans will see in the film. “The thing I was most nervous about was taking my shirt off,” Pattinson admitted. “At least he’s honest!” Kristen Stewart chimed in. “That’s cool.” Pattinson went on to say that even though the Edward Cullen in Stephenie Meyer’s books is frequently without a shirt, he kept trying to keep himself clothed in the films. “I’ve managed to have my shirt on the whole series,” he said. “In the book, [Edward is shirtless] almost every three pages. [I kept thinking,] ‘How can I wear a T-shirt in the sea? Or a onesie?’ ” Pattinson joked about trying to film his water scenes fully clothed. “I don’t want to get anyone’s hopes up,” Pattinson added, speaking to what fans will see of his torso in the film and preview footage. “I look like an inflatable frankfurter in some of those [scenes].” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . During MTV News live stream, Elizabeth Reaser recalls ‘crying a lot’ on the last day of filming. By Ryan J. Downey Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner at the 2011 San Diego Comic-Con Photo: Getty Images SAN DIEGO — MTV News returned to San Diego Comic-Con this year, and thanks to the magic of the Internet, we’ve brought you along for all the festivities. We caught up with Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner from “Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” and several of their castmates — Ashley Greene, Kellan Lutz, Nikki Reed, Elizabeth Reaser and Julia Jones — came by to talk to us live. “The great thing about Comic-Con is that it never feels like work,” Lautner told us. “We come down to San Diego, we hang out together, we go in a room with 7,000 fans, it’s fun. It’s our way of thanking the fans. It’s amazing that they still camp out and have that same amount of passion that they always have.” We invited you to send questions via Twitter to @MTVNews with the hashtag #mtvsdcc, and we were very happy to provide some answers. Our live stream was full of “Twilight” revelations, pontifications and ruminations from the cast and director Bill Condon (as well as some expert “Twilight Saga” fans) about the first part of the saga’s epic conclusion, which doesn’t hit theaters until November 18. Your Twitter questions ran the gamut from specific story questions to wondering whether the stars have Googled themselves and which of them have watched “The Vampire Diaries” and “True Blood.” But mostly everyone wanted to know what it felt like for the cast to wrap up the cinematic adaptation of the popular romantic/supernatural novels that kicked off the current vampires-and-werewolves craze. “I think the most surreal experience was getting married [in the movie],” Stewart told us of the “Breaking Dawn” filming process, pointing out that the entire cast was anxious to see how it would all go down. “It had a feeling — I don’t want to say it felt like a real wedding, [but] it definitely felt like a ceremony.” “For me, personally, the last day, when we wrapped, I didn’t believe it,” Jones told us during the live stream. “I hadn’t even thought that was possible. I just stood there like a zombie. People started hugging me. ‘You’re wrapped! You’re wrapped!’ I was in a little bit in a daze.” “I think I’m going to miss the community,” she added. “I realize how valuable it is that there’s this big group of us and we keep meeting up all over the place and going on this ride together.” Reaser told us she wrapped “at the exact same moment” as her “show husband,” Peter Facinelli. “We were crying a lot. We were just completely shocked and hugging. We went out and we had a little meal together. It was surreal. But it was nice that I got to have a moment with Peter.” Reed was also focused on the different character pairings in the film. “I was really nervous about the relationship between Rosalie and Bella,” she said during our live stream. “It is a very special dynamic, and I wanted to make sure the transition happened naturally and organically. I wanted to make sure my head was in the right place. I’m a nervous wreck about all of these movies.” “I’ve been waiting to film ‘Breaking Dawn.’ It’s juicy,” Lutz said. “It’s a way larger production. We shot some really epic scenes that took multiple, multiple days.” “Twilight” isn’t the only major franchise at San Diego Comic-Con, of course. We’ll launch another live stream at 6 p.m. ET/ 3 p.m. PT on Friday and Saturday. On Friday, we’ll have appearances from Justin Timberlake and Lautner (this time promoting “Abduction”) and exclusives from “Cowboys & Aliens” and “Thundercats.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Band plays U.S., then the world in support of Liquid Zoo . By Christina Garibaldi 100 Monkeys Photo: MTV News Jackson Rathbone has been keeping himself very busy since wrapping up “Breaking Dawn” earlier this year. The “Twilight” star is currently on the road with his band, 100 Monkeys , hitting towns all across the U.S. before taking their act overseas later this year . The band, which recently released its second full-length studio album, Liquid Zoo, stopped by the MTV Newsroom to give us a sneak peek at what fans can expect from its usually unexpected live shows. “It’s a raucous, theatrical live set, constantly switching instruments and singers and jumping and running around onstage, very interactive with the audience,” Ben Graupner said. “We pull ideas from the crowd and make up a song on the spot. People will come out of nowhere and start rapping. You really don’t know what to expect except for a smile and a good time.” 100 Monkeys, who are pretty confident they have never played the same set twice, are constantly thinking up new ways to keep their fans entertained. “We always just have fun with it,” Rathbone said. “At the end of the day, the thing we do with 100 Monkeys is we play with our audience. It’s just a fun time. They came out to see us and we came there to see them. That’s what makes us a great live band. We love playing.” Next up, they are taking on New York City with a show at the Gramercy Theatre on Saturday, but don’t ask them what they will be playing. They still have no idea. “We write our set lists 30 minutes to an hour before our show,” Rathbone revealed. “We always write the set list, sometimes it gets a lot of doodles. It’s fun. The best set list we ever had was from a sticker book.” So, is life on the road as glamorous as it looks? Well, not for these guys. “We are on a red, smelly bus,” Rathbone joked. “It wasn’t as smelly before we got on, but it definitely had some residue. It’s actually from the 1992 Metallica tour; it’s got a little Metallica vibe to it.” Are you going to see 100 Monkeys on tour? Let us know in the comments below! Related Artists 100 Monkeys
