Movie Awards Tip To Celebs: Pass (And Drop) The Golden Popcorn!

‘Let it slip. It’s no problem!’ laughs Suz-Anna Dela Rosa, in search of good post-show gossip. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Jim Cantiello Jim Cantiello Photo: MTV News If there’s one request Suz-Anna Dela Rosa, the woman in charge of handling the Movies Awards’ Golden Popcorn trophies, has for celebs as they prepare for Sunday’s big show, it’s please, please drop the Popcorn. It all started back in 2009, when Kristen Stewart dropped the Golden Popcorn statue she’d just received for Best Female Performance in “Twilight.” The starlet was awkward (and adorable) about the misstep, and the moment is now part of MTV Movie Awards history. Fast-forward to 2010: no dropped awards. Apparently last year’s celebs didn’t want to repeat KStew’s stumble, so they came prepared — with steady hands and good balance. And, of course, that was a good thing, except that it meant Dela Rosa didn’t have too many juicy celeb anecdotes for us when we asked her to dish some dirt after the show. Stewart’s slip in ’09 had gotten us a cute story about how the “Breaking Dawn” star asked Movie Awards staff for her broken Popcorn only to find out they had already tossed it. But last year? “Nothing, not a thing,” Dela Rosa said. “Celebrities, please help us out. Give us a story.” She even suggested that stars give the audience a little fake-out, a tease. “Drop it. Let it slip. It’s no problem!” she joked. With Jim Carrey set to present at the Movie Awards and Jason Sudeikis as the show’s host, she may get her wish. Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? Find out June 5, when the 20th annual show airs live at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Tune in at 7:30 p.m. ET/PT that night for the “America’s Best Dance Crew” finale and Movie Awards pre-show, loaded with live action from the red carpet, exclusive movie clips and a special edition of “After Hours.” To get into the magical movie mood, it’s Sneak Peek Week — five days of exclusives and interviews with the casts of “Fright Night,” “Horrible Bosses” and more. ‘Breaking Dawn’ Is A ‘Fulfilling’ Finale, Jackson Rathbone Says

‘It really wraps up the story in such a beautiful way,’ the ‘Twilight’ star tells MTV News. By Terri Schwartz, with reporting by Eric Ditzian Jackson Rathbone Photo: MTV News There’s plenty of “Twilight” goodness to look forward to at Sunday’s MTV Movie Awards , but what Jackson Rathbone is most looking forward to is the sneak peek of “Breaking Dawn” that his castmates Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner will present during the big show. Rathbone shared his enthusiasm for the final two “Twilight Saga” films when we caught up with him on the set of his new film “Live at the Foxes Den,” describing the finale as “the culmination of this saga, and it really wraps up the story in such a beautiful way. We had the amazing [director] Bill Condon on, and I was very, very excited to play Jasper once again in these films and kind of step up.” Fans who have read the book know Jasper and his lady Alice (Ashley Greene) have a very significant role in the “Breaking Dawn” plot arc, but Rathbone said he was more excited to show off Jasper’s love and devotion to his family in the next two movies than he was for his beefed-up role. “There’s an amazing moment in ‘Breaking Dawn’ – I can’t say which movie, though. I’m sorry, I’m not technically allowed. But there’s a very fulfilling moment for myself as an actor and as a fan of the books and of the film series that you get to see, in the end, really how much these characters love one another and how much they function as a family, even though they are kind of an odd family of vampires. Vegetarian vampires, at that. They’re an odd bunch,” Rathbone said with a laugh. “But, I mean, the way they love and feel about each other and the way they protect and support one another I think is beautiful, so I think we’re going to get to see that happen in ‘Breaking Dawn.’ ” Will wizards, vampires or dream thieves steal the 2011 MTV Movie Awards ? ‘Breaking Dawn’ Stars To Present Exclusive Clip At MTV Movie Awards!

Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will present the clip live at Sunday’s show. By MTV News staff Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images Since film fans made “The Twilight Saga: Eclipse” the most nominated film leading into the 2011 MTV Movie Awards , we had to return the favor with some “Twilight” goodies during the big show. “Twilight” leading lady Kristen Stewart and her main men, Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner, will be presenting an exclusive clip from the saga’s highly anticipated fourth film, “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1,” during the awards show, airing live at 9 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. For the die-hard “Twilight” fans who’ve been following all the news about “Breaking Dawn – Part 1” — for which we compiled this handy guide — the exclusive clip premiering during the Movie Awards will be the very first video from the film. Up until now, we’ve had to make do with production photos, teaser art and posters. MTV News recently caught up with Elizabeth Reaser, who plays Cullen matriarch Esme, to get her take on filming the two-part “Twilight” finale. “There was a lot of emotion,” she said during an MTV Sneak Peek Week screening of her latest movie, “The Art of Getting By.” “I mean, [for] months we had been through so much different weather craziness [in all different locations that] we were in denial of it the whole time.” She recalled saying goodbye to the epic five-movie saga while shooting the highly anticipated Edward/Bella wedding scene, even though her work on the film wasn’t quite over; she had to stick around a bit longer to finish up some shooting on the film. “Suddenly, we were on the dance floor at the wedding, and it was suddenly over,” she said. “It’s also 7 in the morning, and we had been shooting all night, so it was this weird, surreal experience. We were all in shock.” Stewart, Pattinson and Lautner will be in good company, when they grace the MTV stage. They join previously announced presenters and attendees, including Nicki Minaj, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Selena Gomez, Emma Stone, Cameron Diaz, Leighton Meester, Katie Cassidy, Shia LaBeouf, Ryan Reynolds and Josh Duhamel. “Eclipse” leads the pack of 2011 MTV Movie Awards nominees with eight nods, including Best Movie, Best Fight and Best Kiss. “Inception” snagged the second-most nominations (seven), followed by “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, Part 1,” which received six nods. Talkback: Is 13 Months Enough Time to Make a Good Star Trek Sequel?

With J.J. Abrams not quite yet confirmed (but expected) to return to helm Star Trek 2 , which Paramount has already set for a June 29, 2012 release, Deadline does the math: That leaves 13 months to go from what Paramount currently has in hand — a 70 page outline, according to Roberto Orci — to fully delivered film. But is that truly enough time to finish scripting, prep, shoot, and edit a massive, effects-heavy summer action tent pole?

Zoolander 2 Could Still Happen

Ben Stiller is optimistic about Zoolander 2 getting made, even a decade after the original film premiered. In a press conference for his indie Submarine , Stiller said that he is still waiting for Paramount to approve the sequel’s script — which features Derek (Stiller) and Hansel (Owen Wilson) 10 years later living in Europe, where they are no longer relevant. “It’s kind of coming along slowly. We’re raring to go, not quite sure where the studio’s at. Hopefully it’ll come together.” [ The Playlist ]

The first teaser poster for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part I has just been released, and, well, the imagination and/or star power is a little lacking: The producers have used a breaking dawn sky to sell a movie called Breaking Dawn . But that’s OK! We can can make up for it by playing a little game.

‘Breaking Dawn’ Wedding Day Was ‘Wet And Cold,’ Peter Facinelli Says

‘I haven’t really had that moment of remorse or blues,’ he tells MTV News of still shooting final film. By Kara Warner Peter Facinelli Photo: Frazer Harrison/ Getty Images Earlier this week, MTV News learned of an exciting “Twilight” and “American Idol” mash-up between Peter Facinelli and “Idol” castoff Paul McDonald on the “Loosies” soundtrack. Naturally, we couldn’t let Facinelli hang up the phone until we addressed another important subject matter: “Breaking Dawn.” Unlike co-star Robert Pattinson , Facinelli has yet to wrap his work on the “Twilight” saga. “I still have another two weeks of second-unit stunt work, so for me, it doesn’t feel quite done yet,” he said. “I haven’t really had that moment of remorse or blues, you know, the blues of finishing. I’m in the midst of still finishing myself.” Regarding a few key scenes that his co-stars have mentioned — specifically the Taylor Lautner vs. Kristen Stewart fight scene — Facinelli agreed that seeing the much smaller Stewart take on Lautner was entertaining. “Oh yes, I was there for that,” he said. “[It was] very funny. … But you have to kick his butt a little bit,” Facinelli added about the idea of Lautner’s character Jacob imprinting on Bella and Edward’s daughter Renesmee . Although he couldn’t go into too much detail, we asked Facinelli to describe the heavily hyped wedding scene for us. “Beautiful and spectacular,” he said. “It’s funny, because whenever we have a big important scene on ‘Twilight’ [movies], it rains. I was doing the baseball sequence [from ‘Twilight’], and it was raining. But you never see it on film,” he said of the filmmaking crew’s movie magic. “With this wedding, it rained the whole time we shot the two scenes. But you’ll never see it on film, they block out the rain. They put tarps up and you’ll never see it. But for us, it was very wet and muddy and cold.” Check out everything we’ve got on “The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com . Robert Pattinson Talks Underwear And Karaoke On ‘Ellen’

‘Twilight’ star recalls singing karaoke at a Lubbock, Texas, bar as the best day of his life. By Eric Ditzian Robert Pattinson Photo: Warner Bros. Robert Pattinson is everywhere these days as he promotes his upcoming romantic drama “Water for Elephants.” But leave it to Ellen DeGeneres to plumb fresh (and often endearingly bizarre) territory with the 24-year-old star. When RPattz stopped by “Ellen” — the pre-taped interviewed aired Wednesday (April 20) — their conversation ranged from his choice of underwear to why he’s more comfortable around wild animals than people to one of the best days of his life. That day came last fall, when he popped into a bar in Lubbock, Texas (home of Texas Tech’s 30,000 students) to sing a little karaoke. Before he knew it, though, a mob had gathered outside. But the police locked down the area and Pattinson and a friend were free to belt out tunes like R. Kelly’s “I Believe I Can Fly.” “We got stuck in the bar for hours and hours because there was this big crowd outside,” said Rob, who was content to hang out and sing. “It was one of the best days of my life!” A less exceptional event took place on the set of “Breaking Dawn,” when Rob, who confessed he doesn’t know how to use a washing machine, ran out of underwear and had to wear a pair branded with Ellen’s show logo. “I was doing the last ‘Twilight’ movie, and I only had one pair left and they were those ones,” he explained. “For some reason I think the shape of my body — my back is too long or something — so my ass is constantly hanging out. … We were doing this big fight, and every shot has these ‘Ellen’ underpants. It came to a point where producers [were] calling up my agent going, ‘I don’t know what he is up to, but I don’t like it.’ ” That was an awkward day on set, Pattinson laughed. Much more comfortable, he later added, was working with animals on the set of “Water for Elephants.” “I think it’s a tradeoff about being really nervous around humans,” he said. “I can walk into a room with tigers and be completely OK with them. I don’t know why. But I walk into a bar or something, and I’m like, ‘Uhhhh.’ It’s very strange.” Check out everything we’ve got on “Water for Elephants.” For young Hollywood news, fashion and “Twilight” updates around the clock, visit HollywoodCrush.MTV.com .
