Chiddy’s record-breaking rap and performances from Lupe Fiasco and Matt and Kim light up Las Vegas. By Aimee Curran Lady Gaga (file) Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage On Thursday night (April 28), MTV’s first-ever O Music Awards took over Las Vegas. With performances and award presentations streamed from all over the world, the digital awards show recognized “about every gigabyte of music activity known to man,” according to hosts (and rock duo) Matt and Kim. The pair hosted the show from Vegas’ famed Fremont Street and kicked off the O Music Awards with a two-song set before introducing Cee Lo Green, who logged online to present the Most Innovative Artist Award to Lady Gaga. Gaga, who, according to Cee Lo, did “the best job saying ‘f— you’ to rules,” graciously accepted the O cube along with the award for Must Follow Artist on Twitter and told her following, “To all the monsters watching, surge on.” Chiddy Bang’s Chidera “Chiddy” Anamege used the O Music Awards as a platform to successfully beat the nine hour and 16 minute “Longest Freestyle Rap” Guinness World Record with a time of nine hours, 18 minutes and 22 seconds. He celebrated the feat by debuting his brand-new single “No One Like Me” to the Vegas crowd, complete with Mr. T, Kiss, Bret Michaels and Pee-wee Herman impersonators. Performances by Lupe Fiasco and Foster the People were neatly laced into the awards show, but the topper was Mumford & Sons, along with Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros and Old Crow Medicine Show’s Austin, Texas, hoedown. Although he wasn’t nominated for any awards, Justin Bieber inadvertently became a star of the show when Lil B’s “Justin Bieber” video was shown, pumping up fans for the Best NSFW Video Award that went to 30 Seconds to Mars’ “Hurricane.” Accepting the award in a bathroom (as they are currently on tour), Jared Leto seemed genuinely excited and thanked fans for the support. Alex Goot, who won Best Fan Cover Award for his rendition of Britney Spears “Hold It Against Me,” followed up his win by singing a sweet and softly sung cover of “Don’t Let Me Fall” by B.o.B. Obviously no online awards show would be complete without the presence of pop-culture wunderkind Rebecca Black, who started her weekend early by “holding it down” at the Golden Nugget Hotel and Casino to host the Fan Army Party. Encouraging viewers to vote for their Favorite Fan Army, it was the last award of the night and went to Tokio Hotel’s Aliens. Did the O Music Awards get it right? Let us know in the comments! Nicki Minaj is Allure magazine’s “Face” this month. The mag asked the pink-lipped, oft-wigged rapper all about beauty, wigs and icons. How many wigs do you have? A hundred? Right before I walk out the door, I grab one. Today, I wore a beige jacket and brown boots and I wanted to keep the whole earth-tone color scheme, so I did blonde. But it all depends on my mood. I just like to feel euphoric and free—so I’m going for more of the pink and the crazy, weird stuff now. Do you have any beauty icons? I love Cyndi Lauper’s style. I remember watching her as a kid and thinking, I don’t know who this is, but I want to hang out with her. Her style looked like a piece of art to me. What beauty products are in your purse? My M.A.C. lipstick [Pink for Friday]; an amazing Chanel lip balm, some sponges to constantly blot my face, and a full bottle of Chloé. I’m really obsessed with it. It’s my airport duty-free purchase whenever I’m flying. What beauty task do you hate? You know what’s so messed up? I used to love getting my nails done; it was a time of relaxation. Now, I want to choke myself because I can’t pause my life. In L.A. the nail technicians take 18 hours for a freakin’ fill-in [for acrylics]. My phone goes off a billion times. It’s Official! The Femme Fatale singer takes to Twitter to encourage fans to ‘check out this incredible … remix.’ By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears Photo: Max Morse/Getty Images Last week, Lady Gaga’s “Born This Way” got the Bollywood treatment when Indian composers Salim-Sulaiman remixed her feel-good disco track. Now, Britney Spears is feeling the Indian love from entertainment website Desi Hits! and the Culture Shock production team, who put their Bollywood-style spin on “Till the World Ends.” “Check out this incredible Desihits remix of Till The World Ends. I LOVE it!!!” Britney tweeted on Monday about the track. The swirling take on Spears’ hit tune boasts a “Punjabi breakdown” section that features some South Asian-sounding vocals from Culture Shock’s Lomaticc and Sunny Brown. The track includes some added Desi flavors courtesy of dholki, dhol and tumbi beats, which are common in Indian music. “Our goal was to take Britney’s smash hit single and give fans a total Desi adrenaline rush,” Culture Shock’s Baba Kahn explained. “The result is a Culture Shock musical Desi roller coaster that hopefully everyone around the world will want to join.” It seems that Spears’ camp was crucial in orchestrating the remix. “We wanted to build an even greater connection between the world’s biggest pop star and one of the world’s largest audiences,” Mark Flaherty, senior vice president of Jive Label Group, says of the reimagined tune. “Britney has been engaged with South Asian culture for many years. From the groundbreaking Bollywood-inspired remix of ‘Me Against the Music’ to her recent collaboration with Indian fashion designers Falguni and Shane Peacock on the ‘Hold It Against Me’ video, she has embraced the incredible sights and sounds of this vibrant community throughout her career.” The original version of “Till the World Ends,” the second single from Britney’s Femme Fatale album, was produced by Dr. Luke, Max Martin and Billboard. At last look, the tune held the #8 spot on the Billboard Hot 100 chart. Are you loving the Bollywood-style “Till the World Ends” remix? Tell us in the comments. ‘Judas’ singer goes on curse-filled rant in new issue of NME. By Jocelyn Vena Lady Gaga Photo: Kevin Mazur/WireImage Lady Gaga is on the defense these days. Fans aren’t sure how they feel about her Born This Way cover art , and in the new issue of British music magazine NME , the singer felt the need to let the world know that she’s not some gimmick and her shtick is the real deal, protruding face bones and all. “Let me tell you something. If you f—ing rip my hairbow and my wig off my f—ing head, my shoes, my bra, every single thing on my body, and you throw me on a piano with a microphone, I will f—ing make you cry,” she proclaims in the magazine, which hits newsstands on Tuesday (April 19). On the cover , Gaga appears in a see-through body suit, with zippers over her lady parts, wearing heavy eye makeup, her now signature “BTW” prosthetics and a wig she wore in the “BTW” video. “I feel I have been probed endlessly about who the f— I am,” she continues. “I have been quite open about it. And still nobody seems to have a clue.” Gaga recently unveiled her second single, ” Judas ,” off her May 23 album release. Parts of the song may pay homage to some of her past hits, but it is certainly not the type of pop song that Katy Perry or Britney Spears would record. “I’m not going to start churning out what you expect,” she said. “If you want me to be a manufactured act, you can f— off.” The star also defended her prosthetics recently in Harper’s Bazaar . “Well, first of all, they’re not prosthetics. They’re my bones,” she said in the issue. “They’ve always been inside of me, but I have been waiting for the right time to reveal to the universe who I truly am. They come out when I’m inspired.” She mirrored that sentiment on her Twitter page on Tuesday, writing, ” Born This Way is who I am. An artist in a constant state of half-fantasy/half-reality at all times.” Related Photos The Evolution Of: Lady Gaga Related Artists Lady Gaga
