Britney Spears’ MTV Special Is ‘For The Fans,’ Manager Says

‘I want them to know that Britney is back and better than ever,’ Larry Rudolph tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears performs “Till the World Ends” at Rain Nightclub in the Palms Las Vegas Photo: Roderick Trestrail Britney Spears gives fans an inside look at her life and the making of her latest album in the MTV special “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale.” MTV News has of course been tracking the release of her record, which finally dropped on Tuesday, but we were also on hand as she performed in Las Vegas at the Palms’ Rain nightclub. Fans will get to see the show — and much more — for themselves when the special airs on Sunday, April 3, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV. When we spoke to Spears’ longtime manager, Larry Rudolph, in Vegas, he told us Brit wanted to put on a spectacle for her fans. She wanted to take her first Femme Fatale live performance to Vegas because much like the city, Spears’ concerts have lots of sparkle, pyro and razzmatazz, he explained. “We chose this place; we chose the Palms because the Palms is where Britney has so much history,” he said. “We performed here with the Britney album, we did a similar thing. We’re doing this eight years later now and we’re doing it for the fans.” Rudolph stressed that Spears has one main goal: to entertain her fans in the Femme Fatale era. “For her, it was really important to do it for the fans the first time she was out there,” he explained. “To do it here in Las Vegas, where everything is bigger and everything is more exciting and the fans are here for her, this was the place to do it. “I want them to know — when the fans watch this — I want them to know that Britney is back and better than ever, not that she’s ever gone anywhere,” he continued. “But she’s back and she’s better than ever.” Don’t miss “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale” on Sunday, April 3, at 9 p.m. ET on MTV. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Sway Calloway Britney Spears in the studio Photo: MTV News & Docs Like most artists, Britney Spears has certain rituals when she hits the recording studio. And when she was putting down the tracks that made the cut for her latest release, the dance-floor-friendly Femme Fatale , Spears reveals what she needed to get into the mood. “I love vanilla candles … and I love my tea,” she explains in “Britney Spears: I Am the Femme Fatale.” “My assistant always has some hot tea, little things like that just to make me feel at ease and comfortable, just girly things.” In the special, Spears is filmed getting some of that beloved tea with her assistant, and later she hits the studio with “Big Fat Bass” producer will.i.am, who shows her the final cut of the booming track. “I did some tweaking to the ‘Big Fat Bass’: The bass is even bigger,” he tells her as she dances along to the song, which eventually is featured in her live show at Rain Nightclub at the Palms Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The special is a mixture of behind-the-scenes footage of the singer as she wraps up production on her album, which dropped this week, as well as an inside look at her life and fans. Jenelle Evans Denies Profiting From Videotaped Fight, Points Finger at Brittany Maggard

Speaking out against claims by Brittany Maggard that she profited from beating Britany Truett to a pulp, Jenelle Evans says she did nothing of the sort. Did not profit, that is. Jenelle delivered a beating , alright. Monday, the Teen Mom 2 star was arrested and charged with a misdemeanor for disorderly conduct after TMZ posted a video of her beating up Truett. Now, the MTV reality star claims that Brittany Maggard, who instigated the fight with Truett, was the one who turned a profit with the shocking tape. Evans charges that Maggard sold off the clip to the media for $45,000. “She told me herself and I got very upset,” Evans told E! “I cried for two hours.” Maggard was arrested for violating probation (stemming from a previous assault conviction) after the video showed her encouraging Jenelle to fight. Evans’ lawyer said of the charge that this reeks of an orchestrated stunt: “Based on the information I have received, I believe Jenelle was set up.” Truett, the punching bag, was busted as well, but plans to claim she only got into fisticuffs with Jenelle as a matter of self-defense. Not a stretch. “I think we have a very solid self defense claim and we are continuing to investigate the matter,” Truett’s attorney, Adrian Iaplucci, tells E! News. “We are ready to take care of this as soon as possible.” Jenelle was apparently far from pleased about her ex, Kieffer Delp, making a pass at Truett, or vice versa. Whatever the case, she went OFF. Evans, the mother to 19-month-old son Jace, who is now under the primary custody of Jenelle’s own mom, is due back in court on April 26.

Britney Spears Models For Dolce & Gabbana

In music and in fashion, Britney Spears is back on top. She’s not renowned for stepping out in high-fashion threads (she prefers the hooded sweatshirt and jeans look, y’all), but she sure looks the part if she tries. Case in point? Sexy ensembles from Italian designers Dolce & Gabbana in a new set of promotional ads for the company. See Britney Spears pictures below: “We love Britney Spears and we love to dance to her new songs! We can’t wait to hear the whole album,” the design duo told the Telegraph (UK). “She has always been among our favourite artists because she has been able to remain true to herself and to her style throughout the years.” “With her music she influenced and inspired generations of people for more than 10 years, and we can’t but congratulate her for this achievement.” Indeed. She looks a little confused in the first image above, but that’s pretty much par for the course these days. Confused but oh-so-sensual.
