Mike Tyson joins the new-baby club after it was announced on Wednesday that the boxer and his wife Lakiha Spicer Tyson welcomed a son. The boxer’s rep confirmed the birth to People.com sharing that, “Morocco Elijah Tyson arrived Jan. 25 in Henderson, Nev., weighing in at 8 lbs. and 13 oz., and measuring 19 inches in length.” The couple announced they were expecting last September. It’s the second child for the couple, who already have a daughter, Milan, 2. Tyson and his wife married in June 2009 in Las Vegas. The wedding came less than two weeks after Tyson’s 4-year-old daughter Exodus died as a result of an accidental strangling when she was ensnared in a treadmill power cable at the family’s home in Phoenix. “I’m just looking forward to trying to do this stuff right. Of course, you know, you — I want to do it right. I’ve been married — this is my third marriage. I want to do it right. I want to do it right,” he told Larry King about his family life . “It’s nothing like being a committed father. You have to be committed and dedicated. This is going to be something new on me, to be totally committed and dedicated to this situation.” In the same CNN interview, the boxing legend spoke about the loss of his daughter, Exodus, and how it affected him as a parent. “I had to grow up,” he said. “I had an incident where I lost my daughter in some family accident at home and it was just a time to grow up and wake up.” Share your well-wishes for the Tyson family in the comments below.

Decemberists Lock Down First Billboard #1

Social Distortion and the Script also debut in the top five. By Gil Kaufman The Decemberists’ The King Is Dead Photo: Capitol/ EMI A week after Cake landed their first #1 debut , the Decemberists also put up their best-ever career numbers, easily taking over the top spot on the Billboard 200 with a strong debut for their most straightforward work to date, The King Is Dead. The big debut crushes their previous chart best, notched in 2009 when their rock opera The Hazards of Love moved 19,000 copies in its first week and came in at #14. The King smashes that debut figure by selling nearly 94,000 copies, according to Nielsen SoundScan, halting the string of record-low #1 sales figures. The Decemberists lead a stampede of new names into the top five, which also includes the Kidz Bop 19 collection at #2 (70,000); Science & Faith, the latest from Irish soft rockers the Script (#3, 49,000); a career-best bow for punk lifers Social Distortion with Hard Times and Nursery Rhymes (#4, 46,000); and a #5 debut for Allman Brothers Band singer Gregg Allman for his first solo album in 14 years, Low Country Blues (36,000). The rest of the top 10: Bruno Mars , Doo-Wops & Hooligans (#6, 34,000), Katy Perry , Teenage Dream (#7, 33,000), Taylor Swift , Speak Now (#8, 31,000), Nicki Minaj , Pink Friday (#9, 28,000) and Mumford & Sons , Sigh No More (27,000). Just outside the top 10 at #11 is the third album from soft rocker James Blunt , Some Kind of Trouble (26,000). With plans to unleash at least two more albums by summer, Kanye West ‘s My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy drops six spots to #16 on sales of 22,000 as West comes within spitting distance of one million units sold. Speaking of Cake , the quirky indie rockers drop steeply from the top, plunging 24 spots in week two to #25 as sales of Showroom of Compassion declined 67 percent to 15,000. Also facing a big comedown is last week’s #2 album, Cage the Elephant ‘s Thank You, Happy Birthday, which falls 26 spots to #28 on sales of 14,000. On the heels of a Golden Globe win and just before receiving an Oscar nomination, the Trent Reznor-helmed soundtrack to “The Social Network” climbs 23 slots to #49 as business picked up by 52 percent (9,000). The Decemberists also triumph on the iTunes albums chart, taking over the #1 spot, followed by the Script, Perry, Mumford & Sons, Social D, Blunt, the “Country Strong” soundtrack, Mars, West and Swift. The iTunes singles chart still belongs to Mars’ “Grenade,” which, despite a Steelers playoff win, beats out Wiz Khalifa ‘s “Black and Yellow,” which is followed by Britney Spears ‘ “Hold It Against Me,” Enrique Iglesias ‘ “Tonight,” Perry’s “Firework,” Pink ‘s “F—in’ Perfect” and Pitbull ‘s “Hey Baby.” Rounding out the top 10 are Diddy-Dirty Money with “Coming Home,” the Black Eyed Peas with “The Time (Dirty Bit)” and Ke$ha ‘s “We R Who We R.” The top 10 should remain mostly unchanged next week, as the only notable releases include new albums from Iron & Wine , Cold War Kids , Amos Lee and David Guetta . ‘Glee’ Creator Has Choice Words For Kings Of Leon

Ryan Murphy lays into rockers for refusing to allow their music to be used on show. By Gil Kaufman The Kings of Leon Photo: Dave Hogan/ Getty Images Not many people have passed up a ride on the money train that is “Glee.” The hit Fox show about high school glee-club singers has had episodes featuring the music of Madonna, Britney Spears, Rihanna and Lady Gaga, and the upcoming post-Super Bowl episode will pay homage to Michael Jackson’s “Thriller.” Along the way, the show has also spawned a series of hit albums and racked up millions of downloads. But there have been some high-profile holdouts, including, most recently, Guns N’ Roses and Kings of Leon. Well, creator Ryan Murphy had a thing or two to say about that in a recent cover-story interview with The Hollywood Reporter. After not responding to comments by Kings of Leon last summer that they passed up an offer to have their music on “Glee” because they didn’t want to appear to have “sold out,” Murphy finally stopped holding his tongue. “F— you, Kings of Leon,” Murphy told the magazine , reportedly raising his voice slightly to deliver the barbed response. “They’re self-centered a–holes, and they missed the big picture. They missed that a 7-year-old kid can see someone close to their age singing a Kings of Leon song, which will maybe make them want to join a glee club or pick up a musical instrument. It’s like, OK, hate on arts education. You can make fun of ‘Glee’ all you want, but at its heart, what we really do is turn kids on to music.” Kings of Leon singer Caleb Followill was, frankly, a bit surprised at the vehement reaction from Murphy, telling the Reporter in response that he and the band had perfectly justifiable reasons for not participating. “This whole ‘Glee’ thing is a shock to us,” Followill said. “It’s gotten out of hand. At the time of the request, we hadn’t even seen the show. It came at the end of that record cycle, and we were over promoting [‘Use Somebody’]. This was never meant as a slap in the face to ‘Glee’ or to music education or to fans of the show. We’re not sure where the anger is coming from.” Murphy also unloaded on former GN’R guitarist Slash, who would not license the legendary hard rock band’s songs to the show because, he said, ” ‘Glee’ is worse than ‘Grease,’ and ‘Grease’ is bad enough.” Murphy, who said he’s been approached by everyone from Jennifer Lopez to Stevie Nicks lately, chalked the top-hatted rocker’s denial up to what he deemed his current career status. “Usually I find that people who make those comments, their careers are over; they’re uneducated and quite stupid,” Murphy said of Slash. Decemberists’ King Is Dead And The Rise Of The Ideal Society

What the band’s #1 Billboard debut means for our Britney-loving nation, in Bigger Than the Sound By James Montgomery The Decemberists’ The King Is Dead cover art Photo: Capitol/ EMI By the time you read this, the Decemberists — the Pacific Northwest’s leading purveyors of bookish indie and songs with titles like “The Prettiest Whistles Won’t Wrestle the Thistles Undone” — will have the #1 album in the country. I would say this marks perhaps the whitest moment of the SoundScan era, but, then again, Cake had the #1 album on the Billboard chart just last week. So instead, I’ll just call it the most hopeful moment. Because, quite frankly, I have been waiting for something like 15 years to live in a society where a group like the Decemberists can top the charts. It’s about as close as we’ll probably get to Utopia, after all, a beatific, egalitarian existence in which we debate issues, study great tomes, regale our young with folklore, meditate, take constitutionals, wear glasses, learn the bouzouki, engage in spontaneous bouts of song and interpretive dance, publish quarterly collections of short stories and prose, eat stuff made of seitan and tempeh, and celebrate the work of philosopher-kings with names like Colin Meloy and Chris Funk. It would be, in short, about as close as we’ll ever come to the Ideal Society. And the Decemberists have brought us to the precipice of it. And sure, you could probably point to any number of reasons why The King Is Dead ended up at #1 — chief among them perhaps that the only other thing released this past week was Kidz Bop 19 — but I prefer to be optimistic. I see it as proof positive of an ongoing, society-wide recalibration, a move toward enlightenment and away from songs titled “Hold It Against Me.” It marks a tremendous step for mankind, out of the darkness and into the light, the death of the monster truck rally and the Shake Weight and beechwood-aged beer. From here, truly anything is possible. Imagine, if you will, life re-imagined as a coffeehouse, complete with terrible artwork (from local artisans) hanging on the walls and kind, bandana-wearing baristas behind the counter. A “food not bombs” pamphlet tacked to the wall; Vashti Bunyan playing overhead. There would probably be some vegan Snickerdoodles too. Anyway, this is what our society is like with the Decemberists at #1. It is a place where the discourse is civil and the coffee is fair trade (and ground on premises), where twee, 12-minute folk ballads have replaced the three-minute pop ditty and Laura Veirs is like Britney Spears or something. You might say this sounds awful, intolerable and downright un-American. But you would be wrong. This is the very society our Founding Fathers had in mind when they established this great nation more than 200 years ago (only, you know, without the slavery): a place where hopes and ideas flourish, a place where people read books and abstain from text-messaging. This is the best America, the smartest, the softest, the friendliest. The most ideal. And we have the Decemberists to thank for all of it. And in keeping with that noble spirit, in the weeks ahead, I foresee an end to the blistering rhetoric and bold-face braggadocio that have dogged this society for far too long. The Super Bowl will not only end in a tie, but the Packers and Steelers will embrace at game’s end. Barack Obama will dine with the most fervent of Tea Partyers, and both sides will agree that the other has some interesting points. Britney Spears will release a recording of her reading David Foster Wallace’s “Infinite Jest” as her next single, and not only will it go to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100, but it will stay there indefinitely. Welcome to the kinder, gentler America. Welcome to the Decemberists’ America. Of course, I may be wrong about all of this. It is entirely possible that The King Is Dead ‘s #1 debut has more to do with a lack of competition and sagging sales numbers than it does with societal shifts. And next week, when the 2011 Grammy Nominees: Various Artists disc tops the chart, all of this will probably be forgotten, and we’ll go back to being the same dumb old civilization we’ve always been. And if that’s the case, fine. But the fact remains that, for one week at least, a sorta-country album (featuring Peter Buck and Gillian Welch on a track) from perhaps the most upright band in rock music today sits atop the Billboard albums chart. The meek inherited the earth. We all got a little bit smarter. It’s a small victory, but I’ll take it. Do you agree with BTTS that a win for the Decemberists is a win for mankind? Tell us in the comments!

Lady Gaga Or Britney Spears? RuPaul’s Drag Queens Weigh In

‘RuPaul’s Drag Race’ season three premieres Monday (January 24) on Logo. By Damian Vaca Lady Gaga and Britney Spears Photo: Getty Images WEST HOLLYWOOD, California — Reluctantly crouched behind the red carpet line, drag queens primping and taking their time, the flashbulbs go off and the cameras go up, all of them yearning for their chance at the cup! On Tuesday night, we caught up with the stars of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” as they head into battle to see who will be the top drag queen of season three. Amid the glam and sequins in the air, competition was definitely on everyone’s mind, so what better time to find out who RuPaul’s drag queens predict will rule 2011: Lady Gaga or Britney Spears? “With Britney and Gaga coming out with new [albums] this year — it’s going to be Gaga,” Shangela, of season two, predicted. “Gaga runs the world, so Britney better take a seat and enjoy.” Tough words about a woman who has reached the #1 iTunes spot in 19 countries since her new single, “Hold it Against Me,” was released a little over a week ago. Season three’s Venus D Lite, who could give Madonna a run for her money, stated, “I would probably say Britney — only because Gaga has had her spotlight moment.” However, Raja, also from season three, disagreed: “I’m going to say Gaga. … She challenges everyone and really puts out new ideas, and I certainly appreciate that.” With both artists set to premiere highly anticipated videos in the next couple of months, fans are waiting to see what new creative visions the stars will bring to the world of pop culture. “I would love to see [Gaga] just be an artist and not just a character,” said Sonique of season two. “With Lady Gaga, you can’t really expect anything other than something that is going to be controversial.” season three castmember Mimi Imfurst, who arrived on the red carpet in an epic “worldly” outfit, is definitely on Team Gaga: “Lady Gaga has all the creativity that Britney doesn’t have, plus all the talent she doesn’t have, so Lady Gaga all the way.” When all is said and done, one thing’s for sure: RuPaul’s drag queens definitely aren’t shy about expressing their opinions. Season three of “RuPaul’s Drag Race” premieres Monday (January 24) at 10 p.m. ET/PT, 9 p.m. Central on Logo. Who do you think will conquer 2011: Britney or Gaga? Sound off below! Britney Spears’ ‘Hold It Against Me’ Tops Billboard Digital Songs Chart

Single debuts at #1 and breaks Taylor Swift’s previous sales record. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me” Photo: Jive Don’t hold it against her, but Britney Spears has a hit on her hands. Her new track, “Hold It Against Me,” which was released last week, topped the Billboard Digital Songs chart . The Dr.Luke/ Max Martin-produced song, the lead single from the singer’s yet-untitled March album, sold 411,000 downloads in its first week available for purchase. The debut also means that Spears broke a record. According to Billboard, that is Spears’ best sales week for a digital song as well as largest debut for a woman as a lead artist. She beat out the record previously held by Taylor Swift . In February, Swift’s “Today Was a Fairytale” sold 325,000 downloads; incidentally, Swift broke the record previously held by Spears when that track debuted at the top of the charts. Spears bumps Bruno Mars’ “Grenade” to #2; Wiz Khalifa moved up the chart to #3 with “Black and Yellow,” followed by Katy Perry’s “Firework,” which dropped two spots to #4. Other newcomers to the chart include Avril Lavigne’s “What the Hell” at #6 and Jay-Z and Kanye West’s collaboration, “H.A.M.,” at #10. Enrique Iglesias’ “Tonight (I’m Lovin’ You)” (#5), the Black Eyed Peas’ “The Time (Dirty Bit)” (#7), Lil Wayne’s “6 Foot 7 Foot” (#8) and Ke$ha’s “We R Who We R” (#9) round out the top 10. Spears is also the top seller on iTunes. Last week, when the song was released, Spears immediately jumped to the top of the iTunes charts in 16 countries . “This is absolutely incredible!” her manager Adam Leber tweeted last week’s about the song’s success. “Brit’s fans never cease to amaze me.” Are you feeling “Hold It Against Me”? Britney Spears’ Choreographer Says ‘Hold It Against Me’ Video ‘Kills’

Brian Friedman says rehearsals for the clip have been ‘incredible.’ By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears’ “Hold It Against Me” Photo: Jive Britney Spears is hard at work on her “Hold It Against Me” video. The pop diva is currently in rehearsals for the clip, set to shoot this week. Britney Spears Walking the Streets Showing Off her Thickness of the Day

Here is some Britney Spears thickness in a tight tanktop, tight shorts, showing off her big ass, thick legs and sloppy belly. She is designed to get fucked by black dudes, but her southern racism only allows her to get fucked by white dudes who think they are black dudes, at least when it really counts like getting knocked the fuck up…. It just amazes me that such gutter trailer trash lookin’ drugged out pussy is famous and rich, it’s like some kind of fantasy I didn’t think would ever come true, since money usually takes the hick out of a pussy, it usually makes bitches want fancy things and eat at fancy restaurants wearing fancy clothes, leaving that horrible prostituting past behind them, pretending they never got raped by their toothless unemployed father every day after from third grade to eight grade, but for some reason, this bitch is just as used up as an ex-stripper trying to make a couple bucks to get baby formula and meth….and that inspires me. Here she is street walking proper….cuz she doesn’t have to…she just wants to…and that’s a passion I can support…

Britney Spears’ Sweet Little Tank Top

I guess I was wrong about Britney Spears stuffing her face over the holidays to the point that her belly turned into that of a fifty year old man’s. Here she is in her little tank top looking half decent for a change. I think we’re done with this overly bleached blond hair look, Britney and Christina Aguilera are the only chicks who still do it and it just looks sad now, time for something new. Aren’t celebrities all about reinventing themselves? Something’s got to give. At least her boobs look good. Enjoy.
