Britney Spears’ Tourmates Nervo Tease New ‘Club Records’

Aussie twins tell MTV News they haven’t strayed from dance music roots in spite of ‘amazing’ Femme Fatale Tour experience. By Akshay Bhansali Nervo Photo: Michael Buckner/ Getty Images With Britney Spears ‘ flashy Femme Fatale Tour closing out its remaining North American dates later this month, it’s fair to say that many of Ms. Spears’ concert-going fans have gotten to know Olivia and Miriam Nervo pretty well. In fact, when Brit first announced her Femme Fatale lineup back in April, promising on her website, “Nervo will get everyone on the dancefloor,” dance music fans were ecstatic about the inclusion of the DJ/producer twins whose writing credits include a song for Spears and David Guetta and Kelly Rowland’s “When Love Takes Over.” MTV News recently caught up with the Australian sisters (and former models), and they told us that bussing across the States and sharing the stage with Nicki Minaj, Jessie and the Toy Boys, and Brit herself, has been a stellar opportunity. “We’ve definitely seen both the girls, [Britney and Nicki], and we interact with them,” Miriam, a.k.a. Mim, told us. “You are traveling to each city and you see the same people every day and it really becomes a family. So it’s been an amazing experience.” “It’s an amazing show,” Liv added. “The girls, the lineup really works well together. You’ve got Britney, who I think is looking the best she’s looked in a really long time and who really gives it her all on this tour. And then you’ve got Nicki, who definitely brings her edge to it. I’d never seen Nicki live, and I’m just so blown away. The girl can sing, rap — total respect to her!” As the Femme Fatale Tour winds down Stateside before heading to Europe, Nervo are now looking to expand the fanbase they’ve built in the U.S. But while Liv and Mim have been a part of what might be considered the mother of all pop music tours, the duo insist that they intend to remain true to their dance music and DJ roots. “When we signed the record deal, it was really important to us that we could take our DJing seriously and release club records,” Liv explained of their Astralwerks label. “Yeah, we want to be DJ artists,” Mim added. “That’s what we love so, luckily, we can release some club records alongside our Astralwerks album,” Liv said. “It just so happens that the Astralwerks single that we’re coming out with is with two major club guys: Afrojack and Steve Aoki . It’s called ‘We’re All No One.’ We love it!” While Liv and Mim do the singing on “No One,” the beats are delivered by hard-hitting EDM producer Aoki and David Guetta prot

Britney Spears Nabs Joe Jonas For Femme Fatale Tour

Jonas Brother also tweets news that Fast Life delayed until October 11. By Jocelyn Vena Britney Spears and Joe Jonas Photo: Kevin Mazur/ WireImage There was a time when Joe Jonas was rumored to be an opener for Britney Spears on her Femme Fatale Tour . Well, it seems that rumor turned out to be true — for one date, at least. Jonas tweeted Friday (July 29) that he’s opening for Spears at her August 5 stop in New Jersey. “This just in … I will be performing at the @BritneySpears concert in NJ on Aug 5,” the Jersey native wrote. Just last week, it was announced that DJ Pauly D will also appear on several dates of the tour, which also features Nicki Minaj, Nervo and Jessie and the Toy Boys. Jonas also shared in the same tweet that the release date for his forthcoming debut album has been delayed. He added, “And get ready for #FastLife in stores Oct. 11.” Fast Life was originally slated to hit stores September 6, but fans will have to wait an additional few weeks to hear what the middle Jonas Brother has up his sleeve on the long-simmering solo project. Jonas was recently spotted in Paris shooting the music video for the album’s second single, “Just In Love With You.” He was seen getting cozy with a model at various locations in the City of Lights. The song is a follow-up to his single “See No More,” written by Chris Brown. While fans might have to wait a little longer to hear what Jonas has been working so hard on, he has made it clear that this album is all about them. “I was really excited,” he told MTV News about hearing fans’ comments about his first solo song. “I love the world we live in where you can know what people are thinking right away.” Are you eagerly awaiting Fast Life ? Nicki Minaj Is A ‘Great Artist,’ Britney Spears Says

‘I think she has a distinct sound when she raps,’ Spears says of Femme Fatale Tour opening act. By Christina Garibaldi Britney Spears Photo: MTV News When the news that Britney Spears was taking MC Nicki Minaj on the road with her hit, fans — and Brit herself — couldn’t have been more excited. The Femme Fatale Tour is now in full swing, with both women bringing their A-game to each performance. And along the way, it seems as if these two have sparked a friendship. “I think she’s great,” Spears told MTV News of Minaj. “She’s a great artist in every way and I’m really happy for her.” Minaj, who is nominated for three Video Music Awards , brings her own flair to the girl-power tour, adding her eccentric style, her fiery wigs and, of course, her signature beats. “I think she has a distinct sound when she raps,” Spears said. “It really stands out and sets her apart from everyone else. I’m happy she’s able to be on tour with me because that’s just amazing.” Last month, we caught up with Minaj just before she hit the road with the pop veteran, and she was ready to take that distinct sound to a whole new fanbase. “I’m just trying to put more theater on that stage. So much to me is music, but it’s also about putting on a show, so that’s my goal: to truly put on a show and incorporate theater and dance,” Minaj said. And if you’re lucky, you might just catch Spears and Minaj team up for a special performance of the remix for “Till the World Ends.” “At the end of the show, the last song she comes on every once in awhile,” Spears said of Minaj joining her onstage. “Not every show, but it’s usually special when she does it.” Will you see Britney and Nicki on tour this summer? Britney Spears ‘Completely Flattered’ By Two VMA Nominations

Spears received nominations for Best Choreography and Best Pop Video. By Christina Garibaldi Britney Spears Photo: Jason LaVeris/ FilmMagic Britney Spears is no stranger to the Video Music Awards . She has so far been nominated 28 times, won four awards and has given us some of the most iconic VMA performances of all time. Who could forget her VMA strip-down in 2000 for “Oops! … I Did It Again,” her dance with a snake for “I’m a Slave 4 U” and, of course, her infamous “Like a Virgin” kiss with Madonna? This year, Spears looks to add to her list of VMA accomplishments with two nominations , one for Best Pop Video and one for Best Choreography for her hit Ke$ha-penned song “Till the World Ends.” MTV News recently caught up with Spears and broke the news of the nominations to the pop star. “Oh my goodness, I’m completely flattered,” Spears said. “That is amazing! Thank you so much for telling me. That’s awesome!” Spears will tackle some pretty stiff competition in both categories including seven-time nominee Adele (“Rolling in the Deep”) and four-time nominee Bruno Mars (“Grenade”) . But Spears isn’t concentrating on her competition, she’s just happy to be recognized. “I grew up listening to MTV. It’s just such an iconic thing to be able to participate in,” Spears said about the VMAs. “To even be presented an award is just so flattering and I’m honored. I’m excited.” Spears should be excited after such a big year. She released her seventh studio album, Femme Fatale , which reached #1 on the Billboard chart, she’s currently on the road for her summer tour , and now she has two more nominations to add to her already lengthy list of awards.
