The magazine claims to offer 568 cool looks, yet it couldn#39;t give Britney any one of them? Maybe we#39;re just being nit-picky here. You tell us below: Britney Spears#39; Glamour UK cover is totally … Britney Spears is back in a big way these days. Meeting the princess of pop, behind the scenes at the biggest awards show of the year, in Bigger Than the Sound. By James Montgomery Britney Spears Photo: Getty Images I’m not sure how many times this has happened to you, but when you’re in the middle of recording voice-overs during the Video Music Awards and all of a sudden you get an email from the assistant of your bosses’ boss telling you that you have to interview Britney Spears in her dressing room in 10 minutes — man, that’s weird. Because it’s Britney Spears. One of the hugest pop stars on the planet, constant target of the tabloids, decided enigma. She’s not exactly forthcoming with the press (for reasons that are certainly understandable) and not particularly interested in sitting down for a chat — especially when said chat is supposed to take place in her dressing room, surrounded by her team of publicists, makeup artists and friends. Needless to say, the odds of the whole thing going down in a ball of flames are pretty high. And yet, there I was on Sunday night, winding my way through the backstage corridors of the Nokia Theatre, the VMAs literally happening all around me, on my way to meet Britney. Armed only with an email (and a rather paltry level of security clearance), I talked my way past the stone-faced security guards — who, it should be noted, didn’t seem to believe that I was about to interview Britney Spears either — found my way to her dressing-room door and awaited further instructions. As I stood there, my mind raced: What, exactly, was I going to ask her, anyway? And, perhaps more importantly, what is she really like? After a few minutes, the door swung open, one of her publicists poked his head out and told me, quite matter-of-factly, “Britney’s ready.” I entered the tiny dressing room, scanned the faces lining the walls (publicist one, publicist two, manager Larry Rudolph, makeup artist, sister Jamie Lynn) and suddenly came face to face with Britney herself, eyes wide and sparkling, head cocked slightly, big smile on her face. I noticed the tiny pair of red dice she has tattooed on her left wrist, the hem of her black dress, the way she crossed her ankles. And then, I noticed she was looking right at me. “Hi, I’m Britney,” she said. No kidding. I am happy to report that Britney Spears is a very nice person; she is funny and carries herself with a relaxed grace that belies her superstardom. We spoke about her VMA tribute — during which she spent much of the time praising others — and how, even after winning a boatload of awards, she’s still blown away each and every time her name is called. Shoot, we even laughed about Lady Gaga’s alter ego, Jo Calderone (“She’s definitely in character,” Brit laughed). In fact, the thing that struck me the most about her was her quick wit: She cracks jokes like they’re going out of style. And while I guess you could say that I learned an awful lot about Britney on Sunday night, the biggest lesson was probably this: Basically everything you think you know about her is wrong. It’s sort of a shame she doesn’t do more interviews, because, really, I think most folks would leave feeling the same way I do. Then again, I can understand why she doesn’t. It’s sort of an uphill battle at this point. Regardless, interviewing her was definitely a highlight, and not just because she’s press-shy. It most certainly ranks as my greatest VMA moment, even ahead of the pre-show I hosted live Sunday night. So the next time you get a panicked email and an invite to sit down with Britney, I highly recommend you respond immediately. It will definitely be worth your time. Britney Spears, In 10 Minutes, Backstage At The VMAs
Think you know Britney Spears? In an interview with Pop Justice , the star says that you probably do not – and the real Britney Spears is a lot LESS interesting than what you likely imagine. She opens up about bedtime (10:30 p.m.), her gray hairs (or lack thereof) and what she’d be doing if she weren’t famous (“probably a teacher”) and more. When it comes to Britney the real person, as opposed to the pop star, Spears believes most people only know about “half” of what makes her who she is. “I can be pretty guarded with my personal life and I’ve learned that’s okay,” she says. “Your personal life is your personal life, and should stay private.” Keeping people guessing, she says, is part of her job. “Sometimes it’s our secrets that define us,” she says. It’s no secret Britney Spears has had a wild life. So what would she do if her boys – Sean Preston, 5, and Jayden James, 4 – pursued pop stardom? “I’d definitely keep an eye on them,” she says. “But if that’s what they really wanted to do then I’d let them go after it. I’d just be very protective.” “I wouldn’t want them to go into it feeling fearful, and also nobody can really prepare you for this and what you experience,” says the 29-year-old. “I’d just have to trust their instincts and help guide them.” Learning to trust her instincts was hard for her personally. “The biggest mistake I’ve ever made [was] to not trust my instincts,” she says. “It’s just about listening to your gut in different situations. I’ve learned to trust my instincts over the years but it definitely took time.” We’re glad she’s doing so much better these days. [Photo: WENN.com]

Co-headlining jaunt will hit 19 U.S. cities before Jonas rejoins Britney Spears tour in Europe. By Jocelyn Vena Joe Jonas Photo: John Sciulli/ Getty Images Joe Jonas is getting ready for some guys’ nights out. He’s set to hit the road next month with Jay Sean for a co-headlining tour, EW.com reports. The 19-city tour will kick off September 6 in Boston before wrapping up on October 6 in New York. The duo will hit up a number of major cities as they make their way across the U.S., with stops planned in Los Angeles and Chicago. After he wraps up his tour with Jay, Jonas is set to hit the road with Britney Spears for the European leg of her Femme Fatale tour. Both guys have albums in the works. Joe drops Fast Life on October 11 and Jay will release Freeze Time in the near future. MTV News caught up with Jonas backstage during his recent gig with Spears in New Jersey at the Izod Center, and he teased what fans should expect to see on the European Femme Fatale tour. “I feel like it’s the right timing now and being able to go on the Europe tour now is going to be even more incredible. I’m looking forward to it,” he said, chalking up his album’s slightly delayed release to fateful timing. “I think it just winds up perfectly for this tour, more than anything,” he said. “What better way to get [the album] out there than the Britney Spears tour? And also just mixing and tweaking; I want to make the album perfect. I wanted to make it perfect for the fans who have waited for the album.” As for those Spears shows, he says he’s going big. “You’ve got to make it bigger ’cause the stage is bigger, that plus figuring out how the European tour’s going to be,” he said. “We’re probably going to add a couple songs here and there and try to mix it up and do something different. It’s perfect timing.” Related Artists Joe Jonas Jay Sean

A video I made for Justin Bieber using the song “Everytime” by Britney Spears. Lyrics: Notice me, take my hand Why are we strangers when Our love is strong Why carry on without me Everytime I try to fly, I fall Without my wings, I feel so small I guess I need you, baby And everytime I see you in my dreams I see your face, it’s haunting me I guess I need you, baby I make believe that you are here It’s the only way I see clear What have I done You seem to move on easy And everytime I try to fly, I fall Without my wings, I feel so small I guess I need you, baby And everytime I see you in my dreams I see your face, you’re haunting me I guess I need you, baby I may have made it rain Please forgive me My weakness caused you pain And this song’s my sorry At night I pray That soon your face will fade away And everytime I try to fly, I fall Without my wings, I feel so small I guess I need you, baby And everytime I see you in my dreams I see your face, you’re haunting me I guess I need you, baby http://www.youtube.com/v/rdSYgG7RXB8?f=videos&app=youtube_gdata Excerpt from: Everytime (Justin Bieber Video) with lyrics

Joe Jonas will be joining Britney Spears’ previously all female Femme Fatale tour – which also features second banana Nicki Minaj – later this summer. The middle Jonas brother will tagging along for one night only. Joe tweeted: “This just in…I will be performing at the @BritneySpears concert in NJ on Aug 5. and get ready for #FastLife in stores Oct. 11.” A musical dream team if ever there were one . Earlier this year, Joe was rumored to be Brit’s full-time opener before Team Spears locked in Nicki, but he’ll finally get to live the dream, if only for a night. Brit’s other new tour addition , Jersey Shore’s DJ Pauly D, won’t start his stint on the girl power gig until August 17, after Britney leaves the Garden State. We will fist-pump to that.

‘Before that came out, there was nothing else on the radio that sounded like it,’ producer told MTV Radio last year. By James Montgomery, with reporting by Sasha Hamrogue Mark Ronson and Amy Winehouse Photo: Dave Hogan/ Getty Images Last year, when Mark Ronson was in New York doing press for his upcoming Record Collection album , he couldn’t avoid questions about Amy Winehouse and her long-in-the-works follow-up to 2006’s Back to Black album. But to his credit, Ronson happily answered each and every one and, in the process, had a moment to reflect on not only the success of Black, but on the rather seismic shift it created in pop music. Of course, in the wake of Winehouse’s death on Saturday, Ronson’s words took on newfound meaning. Because no matter how Winehouse is remembered , her music will always be her lasting legacy. “I am really proud of the sound of Amy’s record, and, it’s hard to remember, but before that came out, there was nothing else really on the radio that sounded like it,” Ronson told MTV Radio in August 2010. “And then it kind of influenced things and became quite regular to hear something that would sound like that. I don’t think there’s anything that was as good as it, or as raw as Amy’s vocals and her songs.” Ronson also spoke about how the duo planned on following up Back to Black, pointing to a then recent session he had just completed with Winehouse — a cover of Lesley Gore’s “It’s My Party” that appeared on Quincy Jones’ Q: Soul Bossa Nostra album — as a possible hint at things to come. And despite the fact that he had spent most of his time trying to distance himself from the crackling retro leanings of Black, he knew that, when he worked with Winehouse, the best way to proceed was to keep things simple. “If Amy’s record had sold 300,000 copies and mine had sold 100,000 as opposed to significantly more than that, we’d probably both be quite happy coasting along doing the same sound. … [A]nd that’s a sound that I’m genuinely fond of; but the fact that it did get so big sort of forced me to change it up,” he said. “But who knows, because Amy and I recorded a song quite recently for this Quincy Jones tribute record; we did a cover of Lesley Gore, and there was no point in dragging my Roland synths into an Amy Winehouse session. There’s a kind of production arrangement that supports her voice. … And after coming off my record, where the main edict was ‘No covers, no horns,’ to go back and cover a Lesley Gore song with the Dap-Kings and Amy felt like regressing a bit, but it wasn’t, because it just sounds good and that’s what she’s supposed to sound like.” Ronson also talked about the expectations Winehouse was facing with the follow-up to Black, expectations he thought were impossible to manage. And, in doing so, he struck a tone that seems eerily prescient in retrospect. “First of all, we’re in a situation where the record industry basically loses about 10 percent in sales every year, so she’s five years between records, and if you’re talking numbers-wise, then no, [she] probably [won’t sell as many records],” he said. “But I still think she’s fully capable of writing another batch of brilliant songs and making a great record, and hopefully Salaam [Remi] and I will be involved in it because I think we all made a great record together last time. But you can never really count on anything being a given, so we’ll see.” Related Photos Amy Winehouse: A Life In Photos Related Artists Amy Winehouse Mark Ronson

‘Britney is one of my favorite performers and certainly one of this generation’s most influential artists,’ ‘Jersey Shore’ star says. By Jocelyn Vena “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D Photo: Tom Briglia/ FilmMagic A while back, there was a rumor that “Jersey Shore” star DJ Pauly D would be an opening act on Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tour . That rumor can now be confirmed as true. Pauly D will open for the singer on six of her August tour dates. He’s set to hit the road with Spears on August 17 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, before his jaunt with her wraps on August 25 in Charlotte, South Carolina. “I am so excited to be performing on the Britney Spears Femme Fatale tour,” he said in a statement. “Britney is one of my favorite performers and certainly one of this generation’s most influential artists. It’s an amazing platform to connect with my fans around the country.” Spears currently has several artists opening for her, including Jessie and the Toy Boys, Nervo and Nicki Minaj. Pauly D served as Spears’ warm-up act at her gig in Las Vegas in March, where he spoke to MTV News about her influence on pop music . “What it means to DJ a concert like a Britney Spears concert or something like that, it’s an association with monsters like Britney Spears and it just legitimizes your career,” he explained at the Palms Hotel and Casino, where Spears electrified the stage just days before she dropped her album. “And it’s just fun being onstage with Britney Spears performing like she’s performing. I love it. I couldn’t ask for more.” And if fans are expecting Pauly to DJ some of the singer’s greatest hits, they’d better think again. “A DJ should not play the artist’s songs at her concert ’cause she has to perform these songs,” he said. “I’m not going to be playing any Britney before she performs; maybe after. I’ll let her perform, let her shine ’cause it’s her night.” DJ Pauly D will join Britney Spears’ Femme Fatale tour on the following dates:
