It’s episode four of The Voice’s blind auditions, with Adam Levine, Cee Lo Green, Christina Aguilera and Blake Shelton back in their red-spinning spaceship chairs yet again. How much fun is this show? American Idol likes to tout its star-creating power, and The Voice may not have an answer to that until it produces its own Kelly Clarkson … or even a Scotty McCreery. Still, it remains a far more entertaining show in many respects, from the diversity of the vocalists trying out, to the rapport between the judges and the unique format.
Looks like the rumors were true … well, at least one of them was. The alleged collaboration of Rihanna and Chris Brown on a remixed version of her single “Birthday Cake” is very much the real deal, as the former couple tweeted it out on Monday evening … which was Rihanna’s 24th birthday, fittingly. Elizabeth Smart is a married woman. “To be in one of her favorite places with her family made for a dream wedding. It’s been an absolutely beautiful day,” her spokesman, Chris Thomas, said of her wedding to Matthew Gilmour. “She is positively radiant. But where did he go from there? To Mohegan Sun, a casino in Connecticut, where Brown performed a set with New Edition. “I wanna give blessings to my ex-wife Whitney Houston. I love you,” Brown said at one point during the concert, pointing toward the sky. “I want to give blessings to my kids, my brothers and all of you. Just when we thought he was a good guy for reppin’ for Whitney… New Jersey Gov. Chris Christie on Friday vetoed a bill that would allow same-sex couples to wed, setting up a confrontation with a Democrat-controlled legislature that has vowed to eventually get the bill into law. The General Assembly on Thursday passed the measure, which the Senate had approved Monday. Lawmakers have until the legislative session ends in January 2014 to override Christie’s veto. They would need a two-thirds majority in both houses to succeed. Christie, the subject of speculation as a possible GOP vice presidential candidate, has said the issue “should not be decided by 121 people in the statehouse in Trenton.” He has advocated putting the issue to a referendum. “I continue to encourage the Legislature to trust the people of New Jersey and seek their input by allowing our citizens to vote on a question that represents a profoundly significant societal change,” Christie said in a statement. “I have been just as adamant that same-sex couples in a civil union deserve the very same rights and benefits enjoyed by married couples, as well as the strict enforcement of those rights and benefits.” Recent polling, meanwhile, suggests that New Jersey voters are slightly in favor of legalizing such marriages. Fifty-two percent of state voters approve the measure, the first time the figures have crossed the 50% threshold, according to a recent Quinnipiac University poll. After all the back and forth over whether or not Bobby Brown was invited to attend Whitney Houston’s funeral it appears he wasn’t able be in attendance for the full event. The singer was spotted leaving the church in funeral attire consoling his other children. Bobby Brown has released a statement regarding what happened this afternoon: My children and I were invited to the funeral of my ex-wife Whitney Houston. We were seated by security and then subsequently asked to move on three separate occasions. I fail to understand why security treated my family this way and continue to ask us and no one else to move. Security then prevented me from attempting to see m daughter Bobbi Kristina. In light of the events, I gave a kiss to the casket of my ex-wife and departed as I refused to create a scene. My children are completely distraught over the events. This was a day to honor Whitney. I doubt Whitney would have wanted this to occur. I will continue to pay my respects to my ex-wife the best way I know how. SMH… Seems wrong to treat him that way doesn’t it? Sources tell UsMagazine.com that Brown approached a woman at the Lasio Professional Hair Care suite Grammy gift lounge on February 10 and told her, “Can I get your number? I promise I won’t beat you!” The woman he reportedly used the line on added, “He and his friends laughed, then one yelled, ‘That’s his new line!’ Ugh! I wanted to throw up!” Both he and his rep denied the woman’s allegation.”That is absurd and absolutely not true,” Brown said in a statement to TMZ . “I did not say that nor would I joke about that.” Amid speculation that he will appear on Rihanna ‘s reworked “Birthday Cake” track , rumors about Brown’s personal life continue to swirl. He reportedly was at her birthday party in L.A. earlier this week. TMZ reports that Brown “refused” to enter the party at the Hearst Mansion in Beverly Hills unless partygoers signed confidentiality agreements handed out by his entourage. While some did, others refused. Despite denying they are romantically involved again, Brown and Rihanna were “nuzzling” and “holding hands,” according to TMZ sources. Now they’re rumored to be collaborating on a remix of her song “Birthday Cake.” Seriously. New reports have been flying that Chris Brown, of all people, is the mystery collaborator on a soon-to-drop remix of Rihanna’s quick-hit song. YOU KNOW THIS.” Cryptic. Or just catchy. That song was good. Neither side is commenting about the rumored collaboration, but a full-length version of Rihanna’s minute-long track (above) has long been in the works. “It’s gonna be crazy,” producing team Da Internz told MTV News last week regarding the tune. “And the feature on there is gonna shock the world.” Could that mean what we think it means? Perhaps he’s bracing for more backlash? A duet with Rihanna would certainly bring that – probably tenfold compared to what he’s endured this week.
