Pop queen Mariah Carey announced yesterday that she is canceling an upcoming concert in Brussels due to safety concerns in the aftermath of the terrorist attacks the city suffered earlier this week. The concert was set to take place on Easter Sunday, which also happens to be Mariah’s 46th birthday. The “Hero” songstress issued the following statement on Twitter and Instagram: “I love my fans in Brussels and at this time I am being advised to cancel my show for the safety of my fans, my band, crew and everyone involved with the tour. “I hope to see you soon and send my prayers and eternal love, laughter and light to my Lambs.” While some fans expressed anger and disappointment, most were supportive of her decision. “You are letting the terrorists win!” wrote one fan via Twitter. “You’re doing the right thing. Safety first. Love you,” tweeted another. During a concert in London earlier this week, Adele dedicated an emotional performance of “Make You Feel My Love” to the terror victims in Brussels. Audience members waved their phone lights in the air as they sang along with her. “I don’t think I’ve ever actually been so moved in my life at one of my shows,” Adele said following the performance. Mariah is currently in the midst of her Sweet Sweet Fantasy European Tour and will take the stage in Denmark on Tuesday. View Slideshow: 44 Beautiful Photos of Mariah Carey
U.S. Special Operations Have Killed ISIS Finance Minister Abd al-Rahman Mustafa al-Qaduli CNN is reporting that in the wake of the Brussels bombing, one of ISIS’ main leaders has been killed by U.S. Special Forces… The Pentagon said Friday that it had killed ISIS’ finance minister, Abd al-Rahman Mustafa al-Qaduli, whom many analysts consider the group’s No. 2 leader. Those analysts believe al-Qaduli would have been expected to take control of the day-to-day running of ISIS, also called ISIL, if its leader, Abu Bakr al-Baghdadi, was killed or incapacitated. The U.S. operation was intended to capture him alive, a U.S. official told CNN. Helicopters loaded with special operations forces swooped in on a vehicle carrying al-Qaduli, but at the last moment something happened that caused them to decide to fire on the vehicle instead. The official would not say what it was that caused them to modify the plan. Defense Secretary Ash Carter announced the death at a news conference Friday morning. “We are systematically eliminating ISIL’s cabinet,” Carter said, adding it was “the second senior ISIL leader we’ve successfully targeted this month.” Explaining the significance of this particular figure, Carter noted, “We’ve taken out the leader who oversees the funding for ISIL’s operations, hurting their ability to pay fighters and hire recruits.” Do you feel any safer? We don’t… Image via CNN
Rudy Giuliani Criticizes President Obama For Not Coming Home After Brussels Attacks According to the DailyMail , the GOP has their geriatric panties in a bunch over the fact that the President didn’t haul a$$ back to The White House after news broke that Brussels had been bombed by ISIS. Former New York City Mayor Rudy Giuliani ripped into President Barack Obama for attending a baseball game in Cuba yesterday afternoon instead of jumping on his plane and coming home after the Brussels attacks. ‘You don’t send a picture of yourself laughing while people have just been blown up at a level that…is the equivalent of September 11 to our allies,’ said Giuliani, mayor of New York at the time of deadly 20001 terrorist attacks. Republicans are criticizing Obama for staying in Cuba in the wake of the terrorist attacks in Belgium and going about his day as planned.
