Florida Police Union Starts Smear Campaign Against Young Woman Who Posted Video Of Beating We’ve told y’all time and time again to be careful about what you put on social media. Here is a prime example of how crooked a** cops will try to place the blame on black people when they’re the ones out here doing wrong. According to Raw Story : A Florida woman who posted video of a Miami cop beating a black teenager in the back of police cruiser has found herself under attack by the Miami Fraternal Order of Police, reports the Washington Post . Pushing back against social media — described as having placed a very negative tone on law enforcement nationwide” — the Miami Fraternal Order of Police union handed out the name and some purported Facebook photos of Marilyn Smith who posted the video of the cop assault taken by her friend Shenitria Blocker. The video, which has since gone viral, shows an unidentified officer beating a suspected pot suspect in the back of a police cruiser, before another officer tried to yank the recording device from Blocker’s hand. According to Blocker, police told her to delete the video or she would be arrested. Instead she shared the video with Smith who then posted it to her Facebook page, leading to an investigation and suspension of the officer. In case you missed the video here it is: Why beat someone who is HANDCUFFED. SMH. And these azzholes claim the man was “protecting the community”: In a statement to the press, Union President Lt. Javier Ortiz defended the officer saying he was “protecting our community,” before criticizing the public for using social media to shine a light on police abuses by adding, “social media has placed a very negative tone on law enforcement nationwide.” Along with the the statement the Union also handed out screenshots taken from Smith’s Facebook page showing her with black men holding guns. “What is extremely concerning is that the poster of this video (aka Facebook Marilyn Smith) has photographs of her with young men armed with handguns. It seems that no one cares to address this. Social media has focused so much on #blacklifematters [sic] /alllifematters campaigns, yet nobody targets the root of the problem our community faces today,” the statement read. “If the police officer has done something not within policy, it must be corrected. With that said, there is a much more serious message by this video poster. Our community has accepted behavior that motivates violence in our younger generation. It’s time for the community to take a stand against this reckless behavior and stop the violence. As the saying goes: It takes a village to raise a child. Guns don’t belong in the hands of children. It is the responsibility of our stakeholders that live in our community to stop that from occurring in the first place.” Smith has taken her Facebook page down while the case is still being investigated. Damn shame. These bozos try to deflect their wrongdoing by shaming people… But what do you think about the argument that violence in the community and the glamorization of guns is at the root of the problem. New York Attorney General Investigating Suspicious Death Of Jailed Woman Much like #SandraBland , Raynette Turner’s family is desperately seeking answers to how an arrest over a petty crime ended with the loss of her life. Via Huff Po reports : New York Attorney General Eric Schneiderman announced Monday that his office will launch a formal investigation into the death of Raynette Turner, the mother of eight who died in a Mount Vernon, New York, jail cell while in police custody last week. “My office’s Special Investigations and Prosecutions Unit will investigate the death of Raynette Turner, consistent with Executive Order No. 147 and a conforming order to be issued by the Governor at my request,” Schneiderman said in a statement. It’s the first such investigation since Gov. Andrew Cuomo (D) last month issued an executive order appointing Schneiderman as special prosecutor in all cases where an unarmed civilian dies at the hands of police. Turner, 42, was arrested on Saturday, July 25 after allegedly shoplifting some crab legs from a grocery store. With no judges working on Sundays to arraign her in court on the misdemeanor charge, police officers opted to keep Turner in custody through the weekend. On Sunday night, the Mount Vernon Police Department told The Journal News, Turner said she was feeling ill and was taken to a hospital. Turner, who had a history of high blood pressure, was treated at the hospital and released. At the courthouse Monday, Turner reportedly vomited while awaiting her arraignment in an upstairs holding area. She was then taken back to a cell downstairs. Although courthouse officials are supposed to check on the holding cells every 15 minutes, The Journal News reported, no one saw Turner for another hour, when she was found dead in the cell around 2 p.m. A spokesman for the Westchester County District Attorney’s Office told The Huffington Post that Turner’s initial autopsy was inconclusive. The medical examiner’s office is awaiting results from toxicology tests. Turner was one of five black women to have died in jail during a two-week span in July. Among them was Sandra Bland, whose death in a Waller County, Texas, jail cell drew national attention and touched off demonstrations by the Black Lives Matter movement in Texas and across the country. As special prosecutor, Schneiderman’s investigation will determine whether there should be any criminal charges in Turner’s death. We hope that this investigation is not just a ruse and that they are able to find some real answers into what happened to Raynette. Black Man Shot And Killed By Cincinnati Police Another day, another police killing of an unarmed Black man. This time, the deceased is a father of 13 who was shot by a campus cop after getting pulled over for a missing front license plate. Via CNN : Cincinnati police are investigating the fatal shooting of an apparently unarmed black man by a University of Cincinnati police officer after a confrontation during a traffic stop Sunday. The dead man, who was shot in the head, was Samuel Dubose, a 43-year-old father of 13 children, according to CNN affiliate WKRC-TV. A CNN records search showed that Dubose had more than 60 arrests. Authorities identified the officer as Ray Tensing, who has five years’ experience in law enforcement and who has worked for the University of Cincinnati Police Department for more than a year. He is white. According to the Cincinnati Police Department, which is handling the investigation, Tensing saw Dubose driving without a front license plate around 6:30 Sunday evening and tried to pull him over. Police said Dubose continued for about a mile before stopping the car. Tensing asked several times to see Dubose’s driver’s license, Cincinnati police said. Instead, police said, Dubose handed the officer a bottle of alcohol. According to police, Tensing asked Dubose to step out of the car, at which point a struggle ensued. “There was a struggle at the door with Mr. Dubose in the vehicle and the officer outside the vehicle, and the vehicle sped away,” Cincinnati police Lt. Col. James Whalen told reporters. Tensing fired a single shot, hitting the driver in the head. Tensing fell to the ground as he fired the shot, bruising his legs and tearing his uniform, Cincinnati police said. It appeared that Dubose did not have a weapon, according to police. SMH!! This…is…crazy… Jonathan Sanders Murder Before a Mississippi cop strangled unarmed Jonathan Sanders for 20 minutes until he died, he allegedly yelled “I’m gonna get that n****r.” SMFH…. The Huffington Post reports: When Jonathan Sanders, an unarmed black man, died last week in Mississippi while in police custody, it was a racially motivated killing, attorneys representing the victim’s family claimed Tuesday. Sanders, 39, a resident of Stonewall, Mississippi, died last Wednesday after allegedly being placed in a chokehold by Officer Kevin Herrington, attorneys C.J. Lawrence and Chokwe Lumumba told The Huffington Post on Tuesday. Sanders, who trained horses and was often seen riding around in a horse-drawn buggy, was at a gas station with one of his animals at about 10 p.m. Wednesday when he saw an altercation between Herrington and another white man, whom Sanders knew. According to Lawrence, Sanders approached them and asked Herrington to leave the other man alone. A witness told the attorneys that after Sanders left, Herrington allegedly said, “I’m gonna get that n****r.” Lawrence said multiple eyewitnesses have told the attorneys that Herrington then got in his car with an unidentified civilian female and drove after Sanders, who was on his buggy. Three eyewitnesses who are related to Sanders by marriage, and who say they saw the altercation from their home, said the officer turned on his police lights when he was just behind Sanders. The lights startled the horse, which took off at a sprint, throwing Sanders off his buggy. “Jonathan immediately began to run after his horse, unaware of what was going on behind him,” Lawrence said. “Herrington proceeded to chase Jonathan.” Herrington allegedly grabbed a headlight tied around Sanders’ head, pulling it down to his neck and yanking him to the ground. Sanders’ body was slumped down in a “praying position” as Herrington allegedly wrapped his arms around the man’s neck, placing him a chokehold, Lawrence said. The three witnesses in the home told the attorneys the officer would not release his grip. At the time, the witnesses said, they were not aware that the man in the officer’s grip was Sanders, their relative. One of the witnesses, who works as a correctional officer in Stonewall, came out to confront Herrington, allegedly asking the officer to let Sanders go. Herrington told the correctional officer that Sanders had reached for his gun, according to the attorneys. The correctional officer repeatedly asked Herrington to let Sanders go so that the correctional officer could perform CPR on him, but Herrington allegedly declined, according to testimony. Lawrence and Lumumba said that although it only took three minutes for Staten Island man Eric Garner to die in a chokehold in a widely publicized case last summer, Sanders was allegedly placed in a chokehold for more than 20 minutes before EMTs arrived. Rappers and athletes aren’t the only ones out here with break babies. Apparently NYPD chokehold victim Eric Garner also had a child outside of his marriage and his widow wants nothing to do with her. According to Daily Mail reports: She might be Eric Garner’s daughter, but she won’t be part of Garner’s family. The chokehold victim’s widow, Esaw Garner, acknowledged Friday that a 16-month-old girl named Legacy is her husband’s daughter with another woman — but said she wants nothing to do with the tot or her mother, Jewel Miller. “As far as her being accepted into our family, that’ll never happen,” Garner told the Daily News when asked about the baby. Eric Garner had been living with Miller for three years before his fatal encounter with Officer Daniel Pantaleo in Staten Island last July. The News reported Friday that a DNA test recently confirmed Miller’s assertion that Legacy is Garner’s daughter. That puts her in line for the largest share of any payout the Garner family gets from the city. “They knew she was his daughter but they didn’t want the public to know so they could keep up the image of the happily married husband and wife together which was the farthest thing from the truth,” Miller said Thursday. “I think it was a public relations thing.” “And Esaw is just money hungry,” she added. An angry Esaw Garner kept mostly tight-lipped Friday. “I know the truth. My kids know the truth,” she said. “We know that’s her baby and fine, that’s what she’s entitled to.” She declined further comment, saying her lawyer had advised her not to talk. Eric Garner had four biological children with Esaw, ranging in age from 15 to 25. The family’s lawyer, Jonathan Moore, is preparing a wrongful death suit against the police officers involved in Garner’s death. A notice of claim — the first step in filing a lawsuit against the city — filed last year listed Legacy as a potential beneficiary, in addition to Garner’s children with Esaw. The filing said the family would seek up to $75 million for Garner’s death. This is such a huge shame. We can understand Garner’s window’s feelings but at the same time — these women and their children are all mourning the same thing, it’s a shame they can’t come together over their loss.

LAPD Officers Shoot Unarmed Injured Man In The Head Another case of apparent police brutality has been caught on camera phone . This time, LAPD officers were caught handcuffing the unconscious body of a man they had recently shot in the back of the head. Apparently the man had an injured hand wrapped in a towel, which the police somehow believed to be a concealed gun when the man flagged them down for help. Via CrimeFeed : The Los Angeles Police Department says their officers shot and then handcuffed an unarmed man on Friday evening because they believed he was holding a gun in a towel (his hand was wrapped in a towel, probably because it was injured). The incident was caught on cellphone video in Los Feliz. According to NBC Los Angeles, the victim was trying to wave a patrol car down for help. LAPD Lt. John Jenal told the LA Times, “This person extended an arm wrapped in a towel. The officer exited the vehicle and said, ‘Drop the gun, drop the gun.” Witnesses in the area reportedly said they’d heard four gunshots total. And even after cops shot the still-unidentified man in the head, they went ahead and handcuffed him, despite the fact that he was clearly incapacitated (he had a massive, bleeding wound). LAPD is defending its actions. Commander Andrew Smith said officers were just following protocol: “We always do that. That’s the policy… to handcuff someone in a situation like that.” At this point, police still do not know why the man initially flagged them down. The injured man was taken to the hospital in critical condition. So not only did they nearly kill him while he was looking for help, they ALSO had to handcuff him just in case he decided to attack them with a gunshot wound to the head, a messed up hand, and no weapon? SMH!

SMH… here we go again … Noel Carter Beating A Florida man is making national headlines after he was seen on camera being brutally kicked and tasered by police while he was unarmed and sitting on a curb. The Orlando Sentinel reports: An Orlando police officer kicked an unarmed man at least six times while the suspect sat on a downtown curb, according to video shot by an onlooker, and as he did, another officer shocked the man with a Taser. The Police Department on Monday released the video-recording, which shows Officers David Cruz and Charles Mays arresting Noel Carter, a 30-year-old Hollywood, Florida, man in downtown Orlando Thursday about 10 p.m. The video of Thursday’s arrest was made by a woman who lives across Orange Avenue from the spot of the arrest and appears to show Carter complying with the officers when Cruz, standing to the man’s right, begins delivering kick after kick to his right arm. According to police, that was only part of what happened. The officers were off-duty, working security at Venue 578, a nightclub at the corner of Orange Avenue and Concord Street, when they saw Carter “using physical force” against a woman, the officers wrote in an incident report. Carter was drunk, his girlfriend had just broken up with him, but he was grabbing at her and attempting to keep her from walking away, Cruz wrote. The officers tried to arrest him, according to the report, but he refused to cooperate and tried to run away. The video first appeared Friday, broadcast by WESH-Channel 2. It does not show Carter fighting or resisting arrest. However, on Monday the department produced new supplemental reports. In them, the officers wrote that they argued and struggled with Carter over a distance of 75 to 100 yards. SMH….why’d they have to kick that man while he was just sitting there????
