Jennifer Lopez’s ‘On The Floor’ Video To Be An ‘Underground Party’

‘We’ve seen so many club videos, but we want to see a club video with a vibe unique to Jennifer Lopez,’ choreographer tells MTV News. By Jocelyn Vena, with reporting by Matt Elias Jennifer Lopez Photo: Jeffrey Mayer/ Getty Images This weekend, Jennifer Lopez is set to film the music video for her club banger “On the Floor.” MTV News was at auditions in L.A., where some of the area’s most skilled and unique dancers showed up to see if they might make the final cut for the video. On Thursday, the video’s director, Taj, revealed what he was looking to capture in the clip: “Originality, being you. This song is about being who you want. It’s about letting loose. There’s no explanation. This is this underground video, this underground party.” Choreographer Frank Gatson Jr. gushed over the chance to work with the new “American Idol” judge on the clip. “I love working with J.Lo,” he said. “She’s a sweetheart. She understands the business.” Gatson also talked a bit about what the crew has in mind for the video’s funky vibe. “I kind of get the feeling that she wants us to be in the club after 2 a.m. in L.A.,” he revealed. “That’s so amazing. [It’s like] everybody had some watermelon and the watermelon made them high, it gave them a little buzz — but a good buzz, a real magical buzz, a dance buzz, a buzz that makes you feel like fried chicken, so she just wants everybody to have a good old time. “The club must have this vibe, where you get on the floor and everybody’s bringing it,” he added. “We’ve seen so many club videos, but we want to see a club video with a vibe unique to Jennifer Lopez.” “On the Floor” producer RedOne recently talked to MTV News about the track. “Of course, she’s global. She’s a global artist,” he said. “She’s a global actress, and the music has to be global, and the rhythmic side of it or the Latin and this thing of a dancer [all has to be there]. “She said, ‘I want to dance. I want to make people dance and be able to sing with me.’ That’s what we did, and it feels good. I think we’re going to have a big one.” What are you expecting from the “On the Floor” video? Bangers: Keisha Knight Pulliam Talks About Relationships…”I Don’t Know If There Is A Lack Of Good Black Men”

Lil banger Keisha Knight Pulliam recently shared her thoughts on dating, good men, and relationships: Since you were in the spotlight at such an early age, was it difficult dating and trusting guys who were really into you and not just hanging on because of what you’ve achieved? Sometimes you get people who just want to hang around because of what I’ve done. But as you get older, dating is about finding the diamond in the rough. God made me so I’m sure he made my counterpart. I’m patient. Until it’s time, I want to work on me and we will meet when we are supposed to. You see so much information about there not being enough available black men for women. From your experience, do you think that is true or is it something being perpetuated by the media? I don’t know if there is a lack of good men. But when you haven’t taken the time to know yourself and articulate what you want in a relationship, you can’t possible find that person for you because you don’t know what you’re looking for. Most times, if you don’t have yourself together, it’s not going to work. What’s the best way for women to approach relationships? The best thing is to be who you are. At times, people try to be who they think the other person wants them to be. And if that’s the case, that’s not the person for you. You should be able to be exactly who you are. You have to love yourself first. You can’t love anyone more than you love yourself. And you should have fun. I would rather laugh and enjoy myself than fight all of the time. You can articulate your point without arguing. Relationships should not be a struggle. When you’re constantly fighting, you should just keep it moving. Source

‘No Strings Attached’ Director Says ‘Friends With Benefits’ Can’t Last

‘It’s very easy to have a sexual relationship that lasts for a short while,’ Ivan Reitman tells MTV News. By Kara Warner Natalie Portman in “No Strings Attached” Photo: Cold Spring Pictures Ivan Reitman is not only one of Hollywood’s most notable and reputable producers of memorable comedies (“Animal House,” “Old School”); he’s also directed plenty of them (“Stripes,” “Meatballs,” “Ghostbusters”), including the upcoming romantic comedy “No Strings Attached,” starring Natalie Portman and Ashton Kutcher . The fact that Reitman is one of the most memorable players in the business makes him an intriguing, if slightly intimidating, interview subject. However, given Reitman’s history with wacky and sometimes raunchy comedy, when MTV News caught up with him recently to discuss “No Strings Attached,” we felt it entirely appropriate to ask his thoughts on the idea of “friends with benefits,” particularly whether the mythological-sounding “agreement” that has become commonplace in pop culture these days can ever actually work. “Well, I think it’s very easy to have a sexual relationship that lasts for a short while, where there’s no kind of responsibility and there’s no kind of real ties,” Reitman said thoughtfully. “It’s been my experience, as somebody who’s been married for way more years than I believe, that you can’t do that for any real length of time.” Reitman went on to say that although it’s a nice idea, we human beings can’t help but fall in love at some point, “arrangement” or no. “It’s really the subplot of this movie as well. I think it’s as much of a fantasy that we’d all like to think it’s possible,” he said of the “friends with benefits” idea. “I think it’s tough, because we do fall in love, and there’s something about the human connection that makes us want to have deeper connections.” Check out everything we’ve got on “No Strings Attached.” For breaking news, celebrity columns, humor and more — updated around the clock — visit MTVMoviesBlog.com . 50 Cent Wants Next Album To Have ‘Aggression’ Of His Debut

‘ Get Rich or Die Tryin’ was all the dysfunctional behavior I had seen my entire life,’ Fif tells MTV News. By Jayson Rodriguez, with reporting Josh Horowitz 50 Cent Photo: Jordan Strauss/ Getty Images Last year was quiet on the music front for 50 Cent but the G-Unit superstar is looking to change that in 2011. “I’m about 80 percent done with my new album,” he told MTV News over the weekend about his forthcoming LP, Black Magic. “It should be out this summer, I’m working on that. It’s exciting; we’ll see how everyone responds to that.” For the collection, 50 is expected to hearken back to his early projects, like the material from his debut, Get Rich or Die Tryin’. “The content had extreme aggression,” he said of his first album. “What I offered on Get Rich or Die Tryin’ was all the dysfunctional behavior I had seen all my entire life and I became the album to the general public.” The rapper’s most recent project, 2009’s Before I Self Destruct, became the lowest-selling album in the self-described “SoundScan Killer” ‘s career. Yet, as always, he remained relevant in part because of his business savvy, pushing Lloyd Banks’ The Hunger for More 2 on the revamped G-Unit Records. Banks, who worked with 50’s former music rival Kanye West on HFM2, suggested late last year that the G-Unit head and West could unite soon on record. And although there aren’t any set plans for a collaboration, 50 has been following West’s moves, in particular, his joint album with Jay-Z , slated to arrive this year. “It should be interesting,” Fif said of Watch the Throne. “When you’ve got two artists, it’s a good combination, good collaborations should come out of it.” Do you think 50 should revisit his “Get Rich” sound on his next album? Tell us your thoughts in the comments! Related Artists 50 Cent

For Discussion: Is It Wrong To Ask A Pregnant Woman To Leave A Bar?

Michelle Lee was minding her business sipping a water with her friend when a bouncer approached her, asked if she was pregnant, and promptly escorted her to the door. Michelle Lee was catching up with friends at a nightspot near her parents’ home when a bouncer pulled her aside. “Can I ask you a personal question?” Lee recalled him asking. “Are you pregnant?” She responded yes because, at eight months along, it would have been difficult to argue otherwise, she said later. Lee, 29, said the bouncer who was staffing the Coach House bar near Roselle didn’t care that she was only drinking water. …”He just said, if anything happens, if a fight breaks out and you get hurt, we are responsible,” Lee said. “That can happen anywhere. If I am going somewhere, I am taking responsibility.” Civil rights experts said that, despite any good intentions, it would be wrong to send a woman packing just because she was pregnant. “There are certain things for which you are not able to discriminate against someone, and one is their gender,” said Ed Yohnka, an American Civil Liberties Union spokesman. “And only women can have babies. You can’t discriminate against a pregnant person.” According to the Illinois Human Rights Act: “It is unlawful to discriminate in the full and equal enjoyment of facilities and services by any place of public accommodation.” Now, we get that the bouncer had the best possible intentions when asking Miss Lee to leave, and clearly some lawyers believe that this is a clear case of discrimination. But, do you feel it was WRONG for the bouncer to ask her to leave??? Source
