But according to his new interview with Complex’s Everyday Struggle on Thursday (September 28), he seems to have upgraded to a grown man mindset. Ray responded calmly to Joe Budden and DJ Akademiks’ questions about his infamous “money team” interview on The Breakfast Club back in 2011, taking full responsibility for his actions and admitting that he spent months “under a rock” out of embarassment. When asked what caused him to call in to threaten Fabolous, he simply said: “I was tweaking… I was moving the wrong may and I made a mistake. It was Vegas. It’s like Hangover 4. ‘ Ray also expressed regret about his behavior on the first two seasons of VH1’s Love & Hip Hop , but said he has no plans to leave the show now that he’s happily married and above the drama. He said: “It was just uncalled for. Certain things I did, I was just ashamed of myself. It was good to watch it back, cause I was like, ‘Wow, that does not look good. It’s not cool. And it helped me kind of curve that uncool savagery.” When asked how long he’s keep doing the show, he said, “However long VH1 want me, I’m on auto pilot… I got my tech company. (That’s) what’s the most imporantat. The tech is so brand new and fresh. I got shit that’s coming out that people won’t understand for another five years.” Here’s more about his tech start-up, Raytroniks . Still, he insists he’s completely faithful to his new wife, Princess , and is “ready to move to the next phase in life.” In his own words: “At some point I had to switch it up. I couldn’t keep going. I just changed cause it was time. It was no time to keep digging myself into a whole that had no exit on the other side.”

Movie theaters had their worst summer in almost two decades, but there were still a couple of gems starring POC that either made big bucks at the box office. While the movie world struggled, TV fared much better. There was a knockout combination of series that got audiences hooked and returning favorites that were must-see TV every single week. We has rounded up the summer ’17 movies and TV shows that kept us entertained all season. Let us know if your picks made the cut! Girls Trip Source: Todd Williamson / Getty Let’s just start with the biggest success of the summer, Girls Trip . The absolutely hilarious ensemble comedy starring Jada Pinkett-Smith, Queen Latifah, Regina Hall and Tiffany Haddish not only kept audiences in stitches, but it did what Hollywood never expected it to do…make over $100 million at the box-office. With all of the horrible things going on in the country right now, this was the movie we needed to make us forget and laugh ‘til it hurts. The movie was so successful that a sequel is reportedly already in the works and we can’t wait to see what The Flossy Posse has up their sleeves on their next adventure! Power Source: Starz / Starz The Starz hit series Power returned for its drama and emotion-filled fourth season and kept summer ’17 on lock. The first half of the season saw Ghost behind bars for being wrongfully accused of murder, but that didn’t stop the action, as he still managed to handle his business from inside and ultimately become a free man. However, things got even more juicy once he was released and he had to deal with all of the people in his life and the drama they bring. Insecure Source: Barry King / Getty If Power is the summer’s best drama, then it’s pretty easy to guess what the best comedy is…and it stars the one and only Issa Rae. Insecure returned to TV screens (and the hearts of fans) this summer picking up right where it left off with the aftermath of Issa and Lawrence’s breakup. This season has been a whirlwind of emotions, sexual experiences (those failed and successful,) fights, laughs and all-around bad decisions. Every week it dominates social media and becomes the subject of conversation. It’s the show of the moment that so many relate to, which is why we are already looking forward to season three. When Love Kills Source: J. Countess / Getty All good movies aren’t always released in theaters, as evidenced by the late summer sleeper hit When Love Kills . The TV One original film was an unexpected surprise for fans and critics due to its incredible ratings and riveting performances. Starring Lil Mama and Lance Gross in the heartbreaking true story of Falicia Blakely, When Love Kills became the highest rated premiere in TV One history and dominated social media trending topics. Fans couldn’t help but marvel at the fantastic performances of both leads, as well as their chemistry. Which makes you wonder why this film wasn’t released in theaters where it could have made an even greater impact? Queen Sugar Source: Donna Ward / Getty The Bordelon family returned for season two of the OWN hit series Queen Sugar and did not disappoint. There were fights over land, breakups, makeups, power struggles and jaw-dropping revelations, which is exactly why we love this show. What makes Queen Sugar so good is that the family, the characters, feel real, like they are part of your own family. They’re not overly glamorized or disconnected and the credit for that goes to the lovely Ava DuVernay. Unfortunately, fans only got the first half of season two this summer, which left off on a sweet note, but don’t worry because the second half is coming this October with a bang. Detroit Source: Aaron J. Thornton / Getty It may not have made waves at the box-office, but the critical acclaim and potential awards talk that Detroit received makes it a deserving entry on our list. Starring Algee Smith (of BET’S The New Edition Story ,) Anthony Mackie, John Boyega and Will Poulter, the Kathryn Bigelow-directed film is about the gut-wrenching true story of the Algiers Motel incident during Detroit’s 1967 12 th Street Riot. The performances are powerful, as is the subject matter and hopefully the film will be recognized during awards season. If you haven’t seen it yet, do yourself a favor and check it out. Claws Source: Jerritt Clark / Getty What do you get when you combine the perfect mix of comedy and drama into a series? Well, that would be the Niecy Nash, TNT series Claws . Set in Florida amongst the underground world of the Dixie mafia and the flash of a nail salon, Claws is quirky, crazy, bloody, absurd, suspenseful and downright hilarious. It’s the show you never knew you needed, but can’t understand how you went without it for so long. A second season has been green lit, so start clearing your summer ’18 schedule now! Snowfall takes the approach of many classic TV dramas of the past, opting to build the series and the characters slowly instead of the epic fast pace that most shows operate with these days. It’s a slow burn if you will, but if you stay with it you will be completely enthralled with this show. For a summer freshman series, the ratings have been solid, the reviews even better, which explains why a second season is coming your way to continue the story and witness the rise of a kingpin. Recently, Selena Gomez made the cover of Time magazine and talked about what the word “strength” means to her. Separately, she also shared a rare photo of herself with her boyfriend, The Weeknd . But that’s not all. Now, Selena is opening up about feeling “violated” as a teen starlet — and telling the world about what it felt like to fall in love for the first time. Selena Gomez sat down with The Business of Fashion this week and talked about her experiences as a young performer . For one thing, she doesn’t know what it’s like to not be an entertainer. “I’ve been doing it since I was seven. To be honest, I don’t think I know anything different.” That’s amazing, right? She also talks about how her mom always looked out for her. “She was very aware, for some reason, of what could happen to me.” That’s a parent’s first job, really. A lot of young stars are prime targets for people who want to exploit their careers and overwork them. Tragically, some young stars — who might experience unusual levels of independence for their ages — are targeted by sexual predators within the entertainment industry. Selena’s mom also didn’t fall into the “Stage Mom” trap. “She always said to me that I should have fun, and if it wasn’t fun or if I wasn’t learning something or I wasn’t growing as a person, she wanted to take me out of it.” Have any of you ever had to deal with stage moms? For a summer job that I had as a teenager, I once had to deal with a mother who wanted her preschool age daughter to perform on stage because, even though it is dangerous for children that young to be up on a stage and they don’t really need the pressure of performing. We’re glad that Selena had a much better experience. Being in this business, she says, became more difficult as she got older. “I was actually more confident when I was younger than I am now. I think it changed when I started getting known for things that weren’t [related to] my work… When I was younger, it was all fun to me.” That makes sense. When she became a huge celebrity, Selena became the subject of gossip. “When I did state fairs and 100 people would show up, I would be stoked. That was the best feeling in the world. But when I got older, I started to become exposed to the truth behind some stuff and that’s when it flipped a little bit.” It sounds like there was more than public perception at play with her disappointment as she got older, though. “I realized, ‘Oh this is actually really hard, and kind of slimy in certain areas,’ and I didn’t realize that certain people wanted certain things from me. My confidence went through a lot with that.” If you think that that sounds creepy, you’re right. “I remember just feeling really violated when I was younger, even just being on the beach. I was maybe 15 or 16 and people were taking pictures — photographers. I don’t think anyone really knew who I was. But I felt very violated and I didn’t like it or understand it.” There’s a difference between going “hey, that girl’s gorgeous” and taking a bunch of creepy pictures of her while she’s minding her own business. Some of that exposure comes with being a celebrity. But at 15, Selena shouldn’t have had to deal with that. “That felt very weird, because I was a young girl and they were grown men. I didn’t like that feeling.” When she was 18, though, Selena experienced a turning point. She was still starring on Wizards of Waverly Place (which was a charming show — no iCarly , but miles ahead of Hannah Montana ), and she felt like she needed to stretch her legs. “I didn’t feel like it was about my art as much. I was on the fourth season of the show, and I felt like I was outgrowing it. I wanted something different and obviously, I fell in love for the first time.” Some people never fall in love, of course. Either they’re aromantic or they just never meet the right people or get to form the right connections. But while most people do fall in love multiple times, it’s rare for anyone’s first love to be as famous as Selena Gomez’s romance with Justin Bieber. Randy Jackson Says Wissam Al Mana Verbally Abused Janet Jackson If you thought Janet’s divorce from Wissam Al Mana seemed to come out of the clear blue sky shortly after she gave birth to baby Eissa, you aren’t alone. But a new revelation from her big bro Randy Jackson is definitely illuminating the situation for us all. According to People , Randy revealed that Wissam pulled a complete 180 on Janet as soon as she revealed that she was expecting their child. He claims that the Qatari businessman became particularly verbally abusive to Janet, repeatedly calling her out of her name and becoming increasingly controlling toward the end of their relationship. “It was quite an abusive situation. It came on later in the relationship, verbal abuse and being [made to feel like] a prisoner in her own home. No pregnant woman needs to go through being called a b-tch every day. There were things like that. That’s what she went through.” Randy says that as soon as he understood the severity of Janet’s situation earlier this year, he told his sister that she had the choice to either move in with him or he would personally come to their London home and handle things himself. Randy went on to say that while on tour, Janet repeatedly breaks down in tears backstage during the show, as the verbal abuse and bullying from her ex-husband is continuing, with him using their custody arrangement as an intimidation tactic. “What you saw in Houston, it was her situation coming out, what she’s been going through. The abuse is still going on. She has custody and he, of course, allowed her to bring the baby on tour, but it’s constant harassment. This tour almost didn’t happen, but by the grace of God we’re here and we’re very prayerful.” As for why he’s coming forward and telling Janet’s story now, Randy says “enough is enough,” and it’s simply time for the truth of the matter to be made plain. “It’s not about anger or vengeance…We don’t like to put our business out there but sometimes transparency helps you. The devil thrives in darkness. I’m just here supporting her through this time. There’s a lot of pain. Janet’s been through a lot with her divorce. I’ve been through a lot, we all have.” Wow. Well, it definitely sounds as though Janet made the right decision to let this marriage go . Hopefully, things will go easier for her while she’s on the road. Getty/Splash

Where is Collin Gosselin? One of Kate’s eight kids was missing from his own birthday party on last night’s show, and fans were not happy. Yes, Kate Plus 8 Season 6 Episode 3 marked a milestone as the sextuplets turned 13, but the elephant not in the room was the big story. If you watch Kate Plus 8 online , you will see a big party celebrating five of the six Kate Gosselin sextuplets officially becoming teenagers. Of course, with Collin not there, TLC may we well rename the show Kate Plus 7 these days … like a reverse 17, 18, 19 Kids & Counting . Kate’s show hasn’t featured son Collin Gosselin in ages, as he no longer lives in the family home due to his unspecified “special needs.” While it’s well known that he is living away from the family in a program for kids who need special treatment, it’s never been clear why. Moreover, viewers were really hoping he wouldn’t be absent from his own birthday party and would reunite with his sextuplet siblings. Apparently not. The fact that he was turning 13, a pretty major life milestone, and still not present really underscored this sad situation like never before. Collin also missed out on the family ski trip that aired on July 17, but this a much bigger deal and doubly painful to longtime supporters. But life goes on, apparently, and just because Collin didn’t get to be a part of his own birthday celebration doesn’t mean there wasn’t one. Fans took to Twitter in droves to express their feelings about it, however, making something that didn’t happen the night’s top storyline. His whereabouts are shrouded in mystery, which would be understandable, given the private and sensitive nature of the situation. But estranged father Jon Gosselin recently shocked fans when he suggested Kate Gosselin is holding Collin hostage essentially. Jon claimed he had no information about his son’s whereabouts, and said Kate is refusing to tell even him where the boy lives: “I have an idea but I don’t really know where he is. I mean, I ask but she doesn’t tell me. She doesn’t answer any of my texts.” Kate responded in an interview that Collin is just fine , thank you, and took the opportunity to throw some serious shade at Jon. Obviously. This is Kate after all. She said it’s a sad state of affairs that Jon is using Collin’s recent behavioral issues as an excuse to question her competency as a mother. “I’m really focused less on what Jon has to say,” Kate said, accusing Jon of a transparent attempt to look like the more concerned parent. “I don’t really pay attention, to be honest.” Jon’s attorney responded that he is “very upset by certain statements made to the press” and feels “the whole story is not being told.” Insiders say Jon was not exaggerating when he claimed to be unaware of Collin’s whereabouts; Kate says obviously he knows where he is.
